Just got back from walking through Pacific View Mall. Anchor store is Target. Walking by I noticed an employee greeter standing at the second floor entrance. I asked what the policy was for dogs now that it is illegal for dogs to be brought into the store unless they are specifically trained to support the owner with their particular disability He said that is not enforced at Target. I know that because we have repeatedly asked, then complained on Yelp and to Target management. They are aware that many of their past longtime customers are on chemo. Many more are not so we have been pushed aside and ignored..no answer forthcoming. Go away, period. Too bad. Allergies not withstanding, immune systems are compromised. Dogs that are not trained and registered service dogs are free to run around sniffing drooling, our legs around groceries, you can see a puddle of urine on the tile floor. I asked manager Michael M. Why is this still allowed? He said nothing he can do.. "headquarters allows dogs as it as its for good customer relations". Target wants to please dog owners and allows them to be in the store illegally but myself and fellow chemo patients everywhere, can just stay out of the store as our only option. We are choosing to do that and ask others to stop shopping Target until they obey the law. Perhaps someone you know or love is a chemo patient? Does that make us second to dogs? I Ieft manager Michael M. and left the store. As I walked out wouldn't you know it, here comes a frisky , excited spaniel right toward me. On a long leash taking up.the whole aisle. I stopped in my tracks and said excuse me, do you know that only trained registered service dogs are allowed? She was adamant..she did know and said but "I don't see any signs!" Michael M...s I mentioned to you..your employee the night before at the second floor entrance was actually playing and petting a large pit bull showing everyone who walked in how safe and friendly the dog was. Ok, that's just great. PLEASE let headquarters know about the
thousands of chemo patients and friends with allergies that won't be there anymore. Is it too much to ask to at least, post the signs you know are required by health dept. at entrances. That would have stopped the incident tonight. Noe K. read more
