I have been a regular customer of this location for nearly 5 years. It was a convenient location and I felt comfortable buying my products here. I could take my time to look around, and then use the self-checkouts if I had anything personal I didn't want to send past a cashier. In the past few weeks, they have installed lock boxes around the most benign aisles. Toothpaste, deodorant, face wash, shaving cream - none of these things can be accessed without pushing a call button, having your need broadcast around the store, waiting for the singular employee who has a key, and having them stand over your shoulder as you get whatever product you need. Forget being able to make purchases in private. Forget having time to compare products. What about people who have health needs that require them to look at every ingredient before buying a new soap? No chance to do that. The past few times I have been here, the time and invasiveness of having to call for the boxes to be opened has led me to simply ditch my list and walk out without buying what I needed. Simple products like these aren't worth locking up, and if shoplifters are the problem I have more compassion for their needs in these personal areas than the money of a large corporation. Target isn't special. Everything you can buy here, you can get somewhere else. This location is no longer welcoming, no longer convenient, and not worth the trip anymore. read more

Bad service. Claimed they didn't have a roll of quarters to exchange. Yet, have done this many times at target.

This is towards the service and overall experience I had with their phone/tech purchasing department. I went there to buy a new iphone and in the beginning after letting them know i needed a phone i was politely and happily helped. However, unfortunately due to lack of proper communication and over competency of the clerk I had issues buying the phone. BUT i truly believe that if the person knew what they were actually doing I would've left with a brand new phone that day. If you know after a certain amount of tries 1 of them being her fault, thereafter the syste mis rejecting something whether its a pin being entered wrong pin and you know that would lock out your client then you should let your customer whose been waiting there for OVER AN HOUR that hey you might get locked out call your carrier see if you can reset the pin or do something to avoid getting locked out OR let me call my customer care and see if there is something else we should try OR NOT TRY in order to prevent any adverse impact on the client. The guy next to her seemed like he knew everything AFTER they locked me out so you know she doesn't understand something or is unware of certain policies or procedures why would you say hey hold up your going to lock him out or one second let me help out to try to help the client out. He literally stood their grinning the whole time and then after when i got upset instead of atleast trying to find a way to help out he basically went to break.The following morning even tho i was promised by this team that they would give me a call back to "retry" i never got a phone call nothing or nothing. I went to another target location thats right by my house and I was out of their within 30 minutes with my brand new iphone. I just think its SUPER messed up to have a person stand there for an hour and if you know certain things might prevent that client from purchasing the product or affecting them in any kind of way you should be knowledgable about the processes and procedures in your company BEFORE you lock the client out and possibly ruining someone's day.Luckily i was still able to get that deal the following morning but i definitely DO NOT recommend this target location for any kind of tech/phone purchases. Throughout the whole almost hour and a half i was there looking at how some of the other employees were helping their clients and the overall experience i had today i would definitely never recommend buying something from this location go to another location such as burbank if its not to far from you and that target has knowledgable staff that genuinely want to help you out. read more

This location in particular has so many employees but the customer service is non-existent. Shopping carts are left all over the parking lot with little to no oversight. This location needs to step up and start prioritizing customers and engage with assisting customers and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Such a shame. read more

This is my "local" and I hate that it's about a mile and a half away from me. Well, I don't hate it, but my pocketbook does. I love me some Tarchay and like pretty much everyone else I walk in with the intention of one thing and walk out with and additional 6 more non-needed items. I don't know what it is about the layout, is it fung-shui-ed to maximum potential?? I do have some issues with this particular location: A) parking -- ATTENTION SOCCER MOMS! I went to Target today to pay my bill and to buy some cleaning supplies....everything was fine. It was very peaceful maybe perhaps because it was during the week. Well, this peaceful event turned weird...and even more weird. I turned left into the customer service area and I noticed this guy who looked like Dave Navarro on crack. I didn't want to stare at him, so I was standing in line counting my money over and over again...the third time very s-l-o-w-l-y. When it was my turn, he was very polite and sounded sober. So, here I am done with shopping and I'm about to check out and I couldn't help it, but to stare at those boobs, the cashier's boobs. The lady in front of me turned around and looked at me with a smile...and another lady, too from another line. Gosh, this is getting a little bit strange. I felt like all three of us were having a conversation... Lady in front, "is he a man or a woman?" me, "i thought he was a man until i looked at his boobs." I like to call this the "Blue Balls Target" - it has *almost* everything you're looking for when you go and the one thing missing is something simple and crucial. Need toilet paper? Too bad because the aisle's been ransacked and all that's left is sandpaper. Looking for something that's always been in this particular aisle? Looks like they just moved it somewhere else but no one knows where. A few weeks ago I was looking for a humidifier and was directed to the Pharmacy area...where there weren't any. Thanks. Basically, this Target is great for cheap snackies and food stuffs but questionable for everything else (since it's availability will always be in question). Well, I lost my blue iPod Shuffle a couple days ago and I can't find the bloody thing. I bought my iPod Shuffle about a year ago at Best Buy. Plus, it was a handy item that helped me lose weight. Without any music, I could not get into my training mode. Plus, I bought the iPod Shuffle blue because it was the color of my former car. Time to get my yearly replacement at Target. The location of this Target is between Oxnard and Burbank and adjacent to the Bevmo/FedEx Kinko's/PetCo. This Target has a garage and about 4-5 floors of parking. I noticed that a lot of Targets in the San Fernando Valley are building parking garages as if they were popular casinos. It feels like it. I dislike it because I got a new truck and I have to really slow down going up/down the ramps. 1st and 3rd Floors are the best floors to park because of the direct entrances. I was in Target for less than five minutes. I am not the type to just look around. I parked on the third floor and headed straight to the Electronics Section on the same floor. I got the attention of a female tattooed cashier who was pretty cool. I requested getting the Silver/Gray iPod Shuffle ($46) and she got it out of the lock case. Why Silver/Gray?! Well, my truck is Metallic Gray and I would not get a Red or Green...EVER!!! My total was $50.03. As she was tearing up the receipt, she literally tore it off...lol. Whoops!! We both laughed about it all being shredded up. I was in and out of there like I was dropping off mail. Well, I thought I wrote a review of this Target, but I guess I didn't. The parking garage is the only thing I don't like. I like big parking lots like the Target location on Raymer. A few days ago, I saw the sale for the iPod Shuffle for $46. Sad! This is the WORST Target in the world. The cashiers are IDIOTS ( I told one 3 times I didn't need a bag - she INSISTED I take one). The parking lot is a nightmare; you are taking your life in your hands. People come whipping around the corners like maniacs. The portrait studio is a major rip-off. They lie to you to sell you expensive packages. I paid $45 for the same package that my friend paid $8 for! That's insane. They rush you through your session and only take a few photos. Drove all the way here to pick up an online order that was days later than expected, only to be told my order had been canceled. I showed her my phone and said, "How could it be canceled, I got a text at 12:34 today telling me I had 1 day to come pick it up?" She said she didn't know but that it had been canceled at 12:34 exactly and there was nothing she could do. This isn't one of my favorite Target locations but this one is close to my home. The parking on a weekend is way too annoying. There are so many people there that it seems you just go round and round to and hope you find a spot. Their games section is lacking and I don't think they have a garden department anymore either. They do have a large freezer section full of goodies but that doesn't make up for the chaos that always seems to go on in this store. I've worked retail before and I know that people always trying on clothes equals a lot of "go-backs" but really why are their piles of clothes and hangers all over the place in dressing rooms. The last time I was there I had an associate push and squeeze by me as she tried to put items back on racks. You know a simple "excuse me" would help me move out of your way. Man...it's hard for me to rank a Target this low considering I'm just a fan. But man oh man...this one just plain sucks! I don't go to this one, even though it's about 3 miles away from me because it's just a pain to get to this one. The parking structure just has crazy, aggressive drivers that will either knock out a pedestrian or ding a car door when someone parks near you. Once you get in...well, the store is fine, but good luck if you ever need a customer service associate to hep you out at this particular store. After trying to get help looking for something in the home furnishings apartment, I just got annoyed and began shopping for other items, for none of the three associates I asked for help to ever return. Once you get to the cash registers, it's a hit and miss. There are ones that everytime you walk up to magically are "on break." I am one of Targets number one fans so it sucks that I have to write this but I've reached my limit. The store itself isn't the worst part but it's for sure the worst store I've been to. No one is helpful and they love having only 2 registers open with about 20 people waiting in the lines. The worst part about this location is the pharmacy. There is one helpful technician but I don't know his name (sorry) but everyone else there is rude and useless. I wait in a long line for my prescription every time for no reason. I can actually see pharmacists and techs deliberately ignoring customers. The line builds and builds and they don't care. If that's not annoying enough, they have called/texted me that my prescriptions are ready and when I get to the store, they are not. If it's so bad, why don't I change pharmacies? I did! They are making it harder than it needs to be!! When my new pharmacy calls them to get my prescriptions, they refuse to fax them over. I'm really bummed because all the other Target pharmacies I've been to are really great. read more

This target is just ok. First off, the parking lot can be a bit frustrating, but that's not Target's fault. Everyone who visits likes to wait on the ground level for someone to leave so they can get a close parking spot. People, there are 4 parking levels!! You don't need to block traffic because you want a closer spot. Anyway, strike two was when I bought a couple of pairs of boxers from this location. Now every time I purchase new clothes I wash it first before wearing. So once I got home I turned on the washer and shook out the new clothes I had purchased. Well as I was shaking out the boxers, a HUGE roach came flying out of them and landed right in the middle of my living room. After killing the roach and being thoroughly grossed out I tossed the boxers in the wash. There has yet to be a strike 3 since we no longer frequent this Target location. read more

I love this Sherman Oaks Target because its so convenient right off the Orangeline. Its usually never crowded and the lines are always short. Team members are polite and the store is always kept up top notch. i do complain about their PFresh department. The vegetables are kind of soggy most of the time and the eggs are never kept stacked, especially when they are on sale. What I really hate about this Target? The prices are higher here. If you compare the original prices here in Sherman Oaks with the prices in Canoga Park, you will find that the Target in Canoga Park is cheaper. Example: Box of Hamburger helper: $1.99 in Sherman Oaks / $1.49 in Canoga Park Yoplay Yogurt: $0.69 in Sherman Oaks / $0.59 in Canoga Park I think its wrong to charge higher prices in different neighborhoods but its much closer and convenient. read more

My Target credit card wasn't working and my phone ( boooo to Verizon ) just wouldn't call any of the numbers listed on the card (still don't know why this just happened ). So she let me use her personal cell phone and waited on the line for costumer service , was very patient and accommodating ! They run some great specials and they generally have good customer service. This is a public service announcement to avoid this Target location at all costs. This store came in "absolute worst I've ever seen" in multiple categories: -Parking Garage: The location of the store is sandwiched into a parcel that is entirely too small, leading to major parking problems. Lots of traffic, hard to navigate, just an overall major headache. -Store Layout: I've been to a number of multi-level Target stores... but don't know if I've ever been up and down the escalators so many times... for just a couple of items. How do disposable napkins and utensils end up on a separate floor from the food?! -Cleanliness: Gross -Employee availability: This may not be the worst ever, plenty of other places have trouble in this category... But a greeter told me an item was on the 2nd floor... I searched for 15 minutes before leaving because I couldn't find the item or an employee to ask. This was my first ever Target. First. EVER. So of course it will always be my favorite. There's only one bad thing: the parking. It's murder. No matter what time of day or night it's horrible. So many people shop there. I used to live a few blocks away, and walked it a few times LOL yes with the cart! The staff are nice, medium turn over rate. The bathrooms are kept clean. This location happens to be one of their "test" stores. That means when they are thinking of trying something out; new floor plan, category, service, it all goes down here. They used to have a garden center, then removed it to have food instead. I personally missed the garden center. I love this Target except for random things that annoy me. Like today, I just came from there to exchange something. The guy at the register was obviously flirting with the 2 girls. He kept talking about how he graduated with a Bachelors Degree at CSUN. The girls obviously didn't care but just kept conversing because he kept asking this one girl with questions. He was taking forever with this transaction. When he got to help me it was pretty easy and fast. I hope these people can keep their professionalism especially if there's a line behind customers. I went in and bought Christmas items that were on sale. Check out time. The lady in front of me was denied a plastic bag because the cashier said she ran out of bags. When it came to my turn, (cashier's name is Oasis, sorry Oasis) she said the same thing and I asked her if the whole store ran out of bags, she said "no, just my register ". So I asked her if she can from other cashier's register, she pointed me to the register next to her and she said, "just grab that one." I asked for the cashier's last bag since I didn't want to be too rude to Oasis. Then I saw the guy cashier grab more bags from the register right next to Oasis! Poor guy. Target management, pls train your people well. A job is a job, they should learn how to value it. I came from retail as well but I learned to be grateful to most of my customers for their business since they're the reason why I had a job. read more

I live very close to this Target and it always has what I need! So its my go-to Target! But I generally go to any Target cause Target is absolutely the greatest retail store on the planet!! Yes they have gotten a bit more "pricey" in the last few years but the quality of products they sell it only makes sense. I mean that's just how it goes in the capital based system we live in. The one thing that does get annoying from time to time, is that not every Target sells the same items, especially when it comes to grocery items. Everyone acts like they hate their job and their life and they have no problem sharing that horrible attitude with you!
