I'm on this baby kick currently, so this review's only about the baby stuff. Operation: infant gear necessities, like onesies. There is something necessary about being able to shop for baby things in person. Unfortunately, this Target didn't deliver. In terms of baby clothes, swaddles, burp cloths, and bjorn-amajigs, their selection felt very limited. OK, lots of bjorn-ajamigs here, but I still couldn't tell you which one was the best as the prices were vastly different from one brand to another and I'm still looking for descriptions of these items that will be of use to me and my husband. Also, the maternity clothing section had one of each style thing, so very poor for comparing. I really like going to Target. From the dollar bins as soon as you walk in to the little stuff hanging at the registers as you wait to check out - I love it all. I have been shopping at Target for years and think the merchandise is a high quality than at other department stores. The price is really great too. I like the Target brands of beauty products and food products. I think they are comparable to the name brands. I also like their housewares department and the variety of options. I think the drawback of the Somerville Target is that it tends to be messy and unorganized. Even when the doors first open for the day, there are piles of things and items strewn all over. This is too bad, as it detracts from my shopping experience there. This disorganization has led to me asking for help more at this store, which is not a huge deal, but does add time to the shopping trip and can be annoying if you cannot find an employee. read more

I specifically targeted Target for this cell phone/data upgrade because for some reason, I always seem to get a great random deal. Admittedly, I lose phones but w those I clouds & insurance, I manage ok. This was a fact finding mission but also a "stop-gap measure" b/c time is NEVER on my side. I stand by my photo caption about the sales tech young man as he was helpful w all my questions & didn't seem to fazed about my career choice. I ended up buying a phone but b/c I've been" baptized by tech fire" & I ended up returning it before I left the store. No harm done, I just caught the mistake & realized it didn't meet my specs. The customer service woman (Barbara) who handled the return didn't make excuses or question me w crazy details. I have SO much respect for ppl who act in a professional manner If everyone cut the crap w the "Blame Game thing" my life would be complete. She have me options like "credit back" on my card or cash. Totally cool vibe about her.Communications is critical in my work. Comcast Internet had a widespread power outage all day yesterday. I worked every over ride angle at my disposal to rush to make good on 2 way overdue reviews (MGH & Union Music in Worcester) It came down to what I already knew which is my need to upgrade data storage, speed, etc. NOW No delay is acceptable. I had to notify ppl I work for & advocate for I'm "going off the grid" & not avail 4 work until Friday am. (Ob any emergencies don't count)It was an epic fail & I swore (yes literally) it won't happen again. Here at Target in Somerville, they have a policy so similar to mine. If I screw up, I own it. I make it right. I love this store. I'm probably gonna get some staples, and check out the clothes so in no way was this a wasted trip. In fact, it added to my resolve that this isn't the end of the world or my job. It took me over 51 minutes w Comcast Internet yesterday w customer service as they tried six ways to Sunday to justify why 25 MG was sufficient. Wrong answer. It's 105 MB min. It took me 51 minutes to begin to rectify this situation, get ideas for holidays, write review, groceries, & have fun doing it. read more

This has been my favorite target store for a long time. I frequently come to this store, as I have been for several years, mostly out of convenience, as it is right behind my parents' house. They are organized, clean and usually well staffed. I am writing this review not only after having a pleasant experience, but also after watching another video of a store employee calling the police on a woman for using coupons. These events have been happening more often now, typically due to discrimination more than anything else, so I thought I would write about something positive. I love to coupon! And I had to go to the customer service counter to price match and use my coupons. The woman who helped me make my purchase was incredibly professional. She rang up my items, matched the prices to the online offers and made sure to use my coupons. When we realized I couldn't use one of my coupons, I had to remove an item, which caused her to re-ring all of my items, re-price match, and re-scan my coupons. It wasn't a crazy amount of products or anything, but not once did she make me feel uncomfortable using my coupons, not once did she grunt, huff or act annoyed with having to redo the purchase. It wasn't some crazy thing, I realize. However, in today's rushed, unfriendly experiences, this was one experience that felt like true customer service. read more

This is my friendly neighborhood Target. This place was a life saver when we were packing a box at uhaul. It had been a long, hard, and hot day of packing. We moved a carload full of boxes to uhaul. At which point we needed more packing supplies from target. This is the time both of us realized how dehydrated we were. The Starbucks in Target gave us a large plastic cup of tap water. The cup was key because it allowed us the ability to drink while we shopped. Thank you Target, we needed the kind service of water. read more

Not all Targets are created equal, apparently.   It's convenient to go here as it's on my way home from work, but it's never a pleasant experience.  They're often out of major items (Pampers Swaddlers diapers in size 1 can't be uncommon).  On a recent two trips, I went for four things only to find that two are out of stock.  According to the app, they're the *only* store in the Boston area that is out of these items.  I discovered the latter after my second trip a few days later, when the shelves were still empty.   After being huffed at by a customer service counter-child for showing her one item in the app, rather than on the website, I'll be driving elsewhere. read more

On the edge of Union Square, Somerville... one of the only retail stores left which you can walk in to buy new baseball cards (along with Walgreens). They also have My Little Pony and Magic: the Gathering cards, and pretty much everything else you could want, including some amazing glass cylindrical vases that make excellent small aquariums for shrimp or especially tiny "nano fish". This is the alternative to the much-despised Wal-Mart. Along with Home Depot this is a great "big box" store. If your medical insurance does not cover a prescribed medication or you do not have medical insurance, the pharmacy here will cover your prescriptions for less than $5. Medications like Sudafed require a state I.D. or US passport. The number 91 MBTA bus will take you here from Central Square, Cambridge. If you are cold in winter and you do not wish to remove your air conditioners or compact window fans, cover your windows with a .5 mil, 1 mil or 2 mil thick "Plastic Drop Cloth" (clear plastic tarping) using duct tape or packing tape around the outer edge of the window indention, and get a space heater (convectional or directional) from companies like Lasko. read more

This Target is running a scam.... they have a contract with Pat's Towing Company that if you step off the property, they tow your car instantly. They have Pat's Towing employees monitoring the lot and watching to see if PAYING customers leave the lot before or after they make their purchases. I parked my car, went down the street, walked back and purchased items in Target, only to find that my car was towed when I came out. Seems extremely ridiculous since the lot was nearly empty and I did go into Target and purchase items. I will now be going back to return everything I purchased and never returning again. Not only was the whole towing incident completely unreasonable but the store was disgustingly dirty and smelt. Again - I will only be going back to return everything I purchased since they clearly do not value their customers. read more

I'm all for the independent shops but sometimes you just realize you need some construction paper and school glue at 10:30 PM. Once you pick up the paper and glue, you realize you need a Proenza Schouler dress. Once you realize that you're not skinny by Go International sizing, you want a bag of Milano cookies as consolation. Then you see that Target has started stocking Moleskine and Jill Bliss notebooks and must add a notebook to your cart (so hip you are!). You check out as the store closes and realize why you're broke all the time. read more

Not the place to go if you are looking to find everything on your shopping list. I have been here twice and both times I could never find what I was looking for. Almost every item was out of stock, the shelves were completely unorganized and the price charts were wrong. Employees weren't very helpful either. Hi there, How are you? I gave this place three stars because I like the face that I only need to take one bus from the house. I like that there is Amy's Organic foods/Gluten products which I rely of for my lifestyle. The reconstruction of the whol place is terrible especially the frozen food/food section. The customer service young girl at the make shift box whas unprofessional, rude and not nice when I return items. The HR manager C was not very professional either on the phone when I applied for a position back in the summer. I had just moved and she was so rude and no understanding. I wasn't able to keep my interview appt and I called. I was stuck in traffic and called to reschedule. She basically laughed in my face via phone and did not call back to interview. read more

This target needs to get a star for being one of the worst targets around. Every time I've been here it's been very crowded, messy and worst of all it's extremely expensive. I just want to know why? I agree on Target's quality of goods. However, they appear to have the indefensible policy of not re-ordering goods they're out of. After arriving on campus, I went to Target looking for bedding for a twin-xl, which naturally they were out of. I've gone back once per week for 3 weeks, and they haven't restocked. I called today and talked to somebody who said they still don't have anything, and what's more, they don't know when they'll get it. "We have a truck come every day, but we never know what's on it." How is this ok? If you want bedding before Christmas, I guess Target isn't your place. read more

On July 1st, I went to Target and spent an hour there. I came outside and found out that my car was not on the parking lot anymore. I was towed by Pat's towing. I had to ask the Security and Store Managers to review the camera footage. I parked legally for an hour and was wrongfully towed. By reading the previous reviews from other yelpers, this incident happens quiet often. It is very disappointing that Target allows wrongful towing to their customers and has not done anything to hire a responsible towing company. I will never go back to Target in Somerville!!! read more

Bought a 48" Samsung with insurance on a Black Friday deal and had it delivered to this store. Got it home, plugged it in and it was clearly broken. Finally got through to a customer service rep who first wanted us to use the protection plan (the cheek of it) and after much discussion finally told us it was all set, and all we had to do was take it back (cue us re boxing it and heading back to the store) and then reorder it (ngh) with their assurance that they would honor the original deal. It was when we went to re order it that the real adventure began... We've now been promised multiple things that the next person wouldn't honor, and as present my girlfriends been on the phone with them again, and has been for the last hour and a half. About to just cancel it. What a huge, time wasting disappointment. So not so much a complaint about this store in particular as the whole, bureaucratic war zone that Target call customer service. read more

3 stars for averageness. I've had good and meh experiences here. There's a good selection of apartment stuff like over the door hooks, mirrors, and storage boxes. My biggest issue was when I came in to get a vacuum cleaner because the website said it was in stock and it wasn't. It took them forever trying to reserve one for me because one of the employees didn't know how. I was supposed to be able to pick it up 2 days later, but it wasn't there again! I think they said their delivery truck was 4 hours late but I just left because I didn't want to wait around. Lesson learned. Next time I'll call ahead. read more

I am a huge Target fan (Target itself= 5 stars) but this is one depressing Target. Granted, I've been to more depressing Targets (exhibit A, Mondawmin shopping center, Baltimore), but this definitely #2. The inside is ok but the parking lot and general locale are very dreary. The store itself has a decent grocery selection and fairly helpful staff. I'd really recommend this store invest in a parking lot remodeling program and maybe get some of those big red concrete decorative balls you see at some nicer Targets. The Target in Everett is much larger and less depressing (it's back faces Costco, so it's one of those giant suburban Stepford wives types Targets). read more

This is a good size Target, not enormous, but still carries everything you'd like. The food section is the right size for picking up some basics like milk and chips and even olive oil while you're getting your face cream, layering t-shirts and household cleaning products. The store is always clean and there's never been a long line any time I've gone, even on the weekend. It's also transit accessible on the 87 and 80, unlike the admittedly glorious Target over in Everett. read more

I used to go here all the time and also shop at Fallas. Today, I decided to visit a friend accross the stress. My car was towed by Pats Towing, but they change their business name every month due to bad reviews they get. Their only revenues stream is tow cars from retail parking lots. The entire parking next to fallas was empty,yet i got towed. The tow companies office is at 50 mystic street, Medford ma,...it took an hour to find it out...managers at both target and fallas pretended they had no clue what happened...i had to walk over to police station....i froze my body off while i even figured out what happened...i thought maybe my car was stolen...finally managers in a body shop across helped find tow companies number...tow company people are very rude treat you like criminal...and the worst of all, after the collect your money in cash ,they tell your car is in the lot four blocks down...and it is not guarded....so you pretty much can go get in your car and leave, if you knew ahead of the time where they hid your car... please do not shop at target or fallas...the building manager gets kick backs from tow company. and these retails let them abuse their customers... read more

Three stars is generous. This is one of the worst target stores I've ever been to. Parking lot looks shady and the store is just really ghetto. There's no fresh grocery and prices are higher than other target stores. I'm not sure why since the neighborhood is nothing to write home about. I live minutes away from this target but don't shop here unless it's absolutely necessary. I've always felt like I'm at kmart whenever I've shopped here. One of my favorite stores. I like Mossimo, C9 athletic gear, and other cool men's clothes they stock. You can also find anything basic you need for around the house or for the yard or for toiletries here, cheap, and usually prettier than other places. I live within biking distance, so I really appreciate that they have a bike rack. They're easy to get to from western Somerville and Cambridge because they're right on a bike lane. Though coming from the east or worse on the bus it's confusing and weird and the city should re-do the roads but it's worth it unless there's another Target closer to you. read more

This Target is within walking distance. I find their food to be pricey compared to supermarkets in the area, but it's a clean store that I frequent often for dog food, cleaning supplies and other necessities. I would give it 4 stars but sales people on the floor are sparse. I have an easier time finding Waldo. read more
