I have been to Target in Saugus MA twice in the past 3 months. The store is disheveled. I looked like Walmart. The employees carts are all over the place impeding shopping. However, the employees them selves are usually just walking around. I went to check out and as it happened on my previous visit, only 1 register #4 and the self check out were open. The line to both were long. Then register #3 opened. One of the managers came walking by and said, can we please get someone on registers #2 and #5, to no one, as there were no employees to be seen. #2 and #5 did not open while I was in line. I will not be going back to that location. I will probably go to Walmart. read more

"Goes in for one item, comes out with $100 worth of crap I don't really need." Basically describes every one of my shopping trips at Target. Lol ;-) They remodeled this location several months ago.. It now includes a grocery section for all your produce, meats, and frozen items needs. Electronics is now at the back center of the store. Customer Service center is directly in front of the registers. The women's clothing, specifically the shoe area have significantly shrunk. So sad, 'cause I'm a big fan of target apparel. I can't say that the layout is more easier to navigate. I've been coming here weekly and I still roam the aisles in circles... I must say, I enjoy coming here mainly for my Starbucks run. I've yet to encounter a long line. The employees are always friendly and polite. They've never given me a hard time when combining the cartwheel offer with my Starbucks rewards card. Now that I'm carefully thinking this through, I guess they have lured me in with the coffee bar strategy. Someone tell me the secret! How does one walk in a Target and not go shopping?!?! There's something weird about this Target. I had an issue with a cashier imposing her views on EBT cards. I filed a complaint with the store and nothing ever became of it. I didn't return for a few months. Christmas season I gave it another shot. I don't know why I did. The staff still seems so stiff and not a person of color in sight working there. This seems odd for the surrounding area, almost intentional. I find the staff to be quite lazy always chitchatting and lines everywhere. There's never anyone at the Customer service area. Go to any other Target. I promise you'll have a better experience. read more

The renovation for the most part was finished before Black Friday. Minor changes and updates being made here and there, but the renovation has made the store look much more modern than before. They have had a grocery since that time. It is not a full grocery like a Market Basket, but has a wide variety of milk, dairy, sausage, hot dogs, ground beef, chicken, pork, canned goods, dressing, healthy foods, granola bars, chips, and lots of other great food products, in addition to a produce. Their market section is much bigger than it was before pre-Black Friday version. The new and improved baby section is one of the biggest and best selling in the New England area, from a wide assortment of diapers, baby food, strollers, and baby accessories. The clothing and other sections still have a competitive variety at fair prices for the quality of product being sold. And just like other reviews, the good guest service is an accurate way to judge this store. You do not have to trust my review, just look at the other reviews from established local yelpers if you need encouragement to try this store. read more

Even though this store could be a whole lot better, it will get there shortly. So, in the current state, this is the oldest Target of it's type. It's large, but doesn't include grocery, rather having empty aisles and worn down signs, floors, and ceilings. It actually reminded me so much of my first shopping experience at Target nearly twenty years ago when the North Attleborough location opened as the third in Massachusetts. While Danvers isn't right down the street, that Target is considerably nicer and more modern than this, but this will change! A renovation is currently in the infant phases. According to one of the employees in the electronic section, the store is getting ready for a huge renovation and expansion to include a complete grocery area and remodel the rest of the old, old decor and style throughout. With that said, the store looked like a bomb went off when I was there. Everything was everywhere and the location for items on the Target app were literally all wrong. I was intentionally looking for one specific item here that was on sale for 90% off. Once finding an employee and searching for it, and yes eventually finding it, I figured I'd do the rest of my Target shopping at another store, just because of the extreme inconvenience where the online store map is completely wrong. Plus, I would have been pretty unsuccessful since currently there isn't any grocery. Employees are what makes this store what it is though. Everyone that I found and asked for help from (four different people) were all extremely over-the-top in customer satisfaction, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their store. It was great to be directed and helped throughout the entire visit to this store. Even though, it was sort of a run around of a disaster, the people who work here made my experience smooth and enjoyable. Plus, I was able to find six of the rare 90% off item! For the staff alone, 4 stars is valid. Maybe it can even get to five after the long awaited renovation here! Bye bye to the Target of 2000 and even before that, and in come the Target of 2017! read more

Target Corporation and/or upper management for Target really need to take a good look at this location. This place has a few problems that I noticed. The BAD 1.) always under staffed, emphasis on cashiers. 2.) the overall look of the store in dreary, dirty. 3.) target team members ignore you like the plague. I was just in this store at 325pm to purchase a grill. Was told it was in stock and needed to get it out back. A rep told me at 335pm they were just getting it down from the shelf. 355pm I left store. Nobody ever came out with grill or explained delay. I emailed corporate and legit this was their reply. Tyler: Hi! My name is Tyler. How can I help you today? Me: I was your store in Saugus mass.today at 325pm to purchase the charbroil grill on sale. I spoke to a rep who said it was in stock and they needed to get it out back, he would be right out with it. At 330 he said he was just waiting for someone to get it off the shelf. Never heard from another rep. at 355 I walked out of your store without a grill. Worst customer service ever. It is 85 degrees out and my kids were waiting for me in the car. I called and the manager (Kelly) said "sorry, would you like me to hold it for you when it comes out." 30 minutes waiting and she wanted me to go back. what a joke!!! Tyler: Sorry this took place. We do not recommend leaving kids in the car. I apologize for the issue Me: Are you f-ing serious. My kids are 13 and 11, now you are telling me how to parent!!!! What else can I possibly say about Target? In general, they are all the same. I love the cheap cleaning supplies, cute and dare I say trendy home furnishings and decorations, and the aisles of toiletries. I admit that I have bought clothing here, and I always (somewhat embarrassingly) check out the $1 section. This particular location is full of normal Target merchandise, but added parking and proximity to other major shopping areas (Shaw's next door, Marshall's across the street, and the awesomely trashy Square One mall nearby) up the convenience factor. Even though the lot is always full, this Target never feels overcrowded. I am always overwhelmed by the Target Greatland in Woburn, so it is much easier to navigate and find exactly what you need at the Saugus store. read more

Easily the worst Target I've been to. Been four times and have done 5 online orders for this location. Not a single order has gone through- never ever had that issue at any other Target. This most recent time I did my online pickup only to have it come back an hour later as 'not available', I drove to the store anyway. Lo and behold all the items I wanted were right there on the shelves. It's an older Target- very simple and boxy looking. Looks like a Kmart almost. Has the older style food service area (hot dogs, etc); the newer stores tend to have Pizza Hut & Starbucks. It's inconveniently located (Route 1... yay), older (needs to be renovated and reorganized), and I have only had one positive interaction with an employee; shockingly bad customer service overall. Even though this one is closest to me, I usually wait till I'm closer to another location. read more

This is not a very good Target, the Woburn location is a lot better. Selection here is pretty bad, they are understaffed so they only have self service checkout open at times, etc. The only good thing about this location is that they sometimes have sales not found in Woburn, but outside of that, go to Woburn instead, it is a much better Target shopping experience. read more

I love Target. I don't care if they are out in the boonies or out in the city (I don't think there is one in SF, other than having to drive far away) but I knew I needed some toothpaste, so on my way into Malden, I stopped off for some supplies: Toothpaste Hand cream My skin had become so dry with the sudden shift in temperatures and wind, that my hands resembled that of crinkly rice paper. I was out and about within 15 minutes thanks to the quick efficiencies of the clerks as well as the typical layout of the store. Once I was done, I hopped back on the 93. Good location. read more

A pretty standard Target in the Boston area. Much better than the Watertown location. Always packed on the weekends, with lines at the registers, but if you come on a weeknight or other off-time, you'll be able to get thru your shopping just fine. They have a substantial grocery area too, in addition to their already gigantic product offerings. However, for better groceries, go next door to Shaw's. Between the two, you should be able to take care of all of your necessary shopping. Staff is usually invisible unless at the registers, but if you need help, they're more than willing to take care of you. read more

Manager needs to train the rude, unmannered young adult employees customer service and just how to have consideration since they didn't learn elsewhere. 4 times on 9/25 afternoon I had employees walk directly in front me. Twice two boys saw me as I was going straight and still refused to stop and cut me off from the side with their cart so I had to stop short and slam my body into my cart and smirked afterwards. A third girl came fast from the registers area without even looking like she was the only one in the store, walked right in front of everyone including me so when my cart's wheels caught her heels she had the nerve to turn and give me a dirty look. I made sure everyone heard me when I said you're the one that walked right into my path. A fourth woman again walked right into my path when I was leaving the register like no one else was around her. Apparently they only hire a-holes that have no conscious recognition of anyone around them and only care about what they're doing and where they're going. And it certainly isn't easy getting around this store with all the darn carts and shelving with stuff in them in the middle of the aisles. Only two registers open and a third one closes while the woman says to 3 people sorry I'm closed. This place needs Professional management. So when I asked the girl at the customer service desk for the managers name she didn't understand what I was talking about, I said I want a managers name to file a complaint, she says his name is Mike so I ask, Mike who, what's his last name. She says she doesn't know! Really?! You don't know your managers name. Know wonder this place scks. And stores wonder why people want to shop online. I realize it's hard to get any employees these days but keep it up and you employees won't have companies to go to at all. You're lucky too that you can get a job. read more

Bad store,bad employees, and really bad 15.00 manager on Sunday. Took return minus 2 items i brought in. They had me so upset really big shot type of store. Never will step in this target again ! I really liked this store but after I had an interaction with security guy "Shawn". I feel it's customer service is extremely important no matter what position you carry in a store. My reason for writing this complaint was not because of the cashiers, managers or product a ability. It's how I got threaten to have the cops called on because I was throwing my trash out. When I finished shopping and paying I walked to my car. I realized that I have a few things that needed to to thrown out. I pulled in front of the store and quickly parked just to remove trash... I see security coming to my car and wondering what was wrong ? He seemed extremely upset told me I can't park here . I explained to him I was not parking here I am just removing my trash. He disregarded what I told him and said to move I am "breaking the law" !! I asked how I'm not doing anything wrong I am removing my trash I'm not parking here. Than not taking this guy seriously I asked what are going to do I'm throwing trash out?? He said that he is going to call the cops on me ! I am breaking the law! Being a Hispanic not doing anything wrong I took this very offensively. At first I though this was a joke was about to drive off but knew if he was I did not want to seem like I am running away from the "law I broke " I parked car a went into the store to ask for the store manager to make a complaint. I proceeded with the complaint. She did question him and he denied it and made is seem like I was lying. He was very argumentative and weird. He was clutching his fits also. I yelled at him normal people do not threat customers with the police than lie about it. I never felt to humiliated and embarrassed in a store. I do feel sorry for anyone who had this type of treatment in this store and hope this will never happen again !!! read more

This Target is closer to me than the Woburn location but the set up is so horrible that I don't go here unless I physically pass while running other errands. For example the baby diapers, clothes, food, toys are all in separate locations in the store. The staff is also rarely around. read more

Two stars because: 1. They have cute clothes but the only way to get a look at it is to actually go to the dressing room and try it on. There isn't a single full-length mirror (besides the ones they sell) in the entire store. Seriously, I looked. It's terribly inconvenient and annoying. Even in the shoe area, they only have tiny mirrors to show the reflection of your feet. I don't know about you but I like to see how a shoe compliments my entire body, like if it makes me look tall and slender or stubby, not just how it looks on my feet. 2. I bought a pair of sandals that was clearly priced in multiple locations (at least 10 different signs) for $19.99. When I went to pay, it came up as $23.99. It's a good thing I checked my receipt as I was leaving and was able to go back and fix the error. The girl at the returns gave the difference back but she didn't seem concerned or surprised by the over charge. It could be an oversight on their behalf but I just feel like it was kind of sneaky. They advertise one price but they didn't make sure it was reflected in their system? It just felt like they couldn't care less if they over charged you, so CHECK YOUR PRICES BEFORE YOU BUY AND MAKE SURE THEY MATCH UP AT THE REGISTER. read more
