I sure hope these folks can pull through. I shop at the location in Lynn MA on Boston street. This is the one that actually made it - the one on the Lynnway closed a couple of years ago. First of all, I get it. They have had to raise prices. As long as they are actually priced before I get up to check out, I don't mind. But they haven't been getting in new shipments for a while *(Covid, supply chain issues I suppose), and all the food was stale and overpriced. Marked up. Finally, last week, they got a new shipment of Sam's club cheese and dairy items. As I was checking out, the items were warm, they mentioned the coolers were failing. Their internet was also down, so I couldn't use my EBT to check out, so I abandoned a cart worth $26. I came back the following week, most of the cheese was sold, but the remaining refrigerator cases were 100% not working and there was food inside that was actually molding in front of my eyes. (see pictures) That being said, in the days when this place was a HOT TAMALE you could get Smoked Salmon, Shrimp, Cod, Amy's organic dinners, and a bevy of other totally awesome frozen foods for $1. I don't mind paying $1.50 or $2 if they can fix the freezers, clean up and get back to where they used to be. The staff are also very helpful and a nice melting pot of folks. I've stood up for them when the R-word people come around to try to disrespect them for raising their prices. Dollar Zone, please take care of this store - we all miss it! If I could give this Dollar Zone store/owner/manager (@ 50 Boston Street Lynn, MA) less than one star I would, and I'm not usually someone who even bothers to give a review. I have shopped here several times, and always liked One Dollar Zone because they have a lot of useful items, but no more. I will never again give this man my business...and yes, all over a one dollar item that did not work that he refused to replace because he wanted a receipt within seven days' time. That's just ridiculous! I have a receipt dated 8 days ago, but that was not good enough. Thing is while the staff may be kind and courteous, this owner/manager is unbelievably rude to customers. That is unacceptable no matter what level of retail you provide customers! Just because you sell one dollar items does NOT mean you can decide not to honor customer issues in a timely, professional way. I don't know if this is a franchise or corporate One Dollar Zone, but this one sucks! Go to Dollar Tree down the street. Not only is it bigger, it's far nicer and cleaner, and it is most definitely better managed. Lastly, the one and only time I had something that didn't work at Dollar Tree, I had no trouble whatsoever making a quick exchange. EVERY dollar store ought to have the basics down, and this most assuredly includes retail customer service experience. You best believe I will be making certain that One Dollar Zone corporate office knows this is how this store is being run, even if it is a franchise. No doubt about it, the item I paid for that didn't work was just a dollar, but that is exactly the problem. It IS only a dollar and that manager acts like it's a hundred dollar or more item that I used for several months when all he had to do was let me exchange it for one on the shelf that did work. Just because something costs a dollar doesn't mean that customers should be okay with losing a dollar because an item doesn't work as described. So, I told that manager that over a one dollar item, he lost my business, and that of my family and friends, FOR LIFE! Hope it was worth it to him. If you're okay with possibly losing money on an item that doesn't work, go to 50 Boston Street in Lynn. However, if you want to be treated with the respect you deserve, save yourself the hassle and shop anywhere else...including the one on the Lynnway, or the Dollar Tree down the street, but absolutely do not shop there! read more

For a dollar or less items, this is a great place to get all your supplies for children therapeutic crafts and activities. I'm not sure what the last reviewer is speaking of, by complaining... It's ONE dollar or LESS... It's not Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus. The store is very well organized and the time I went, they had s bulk shipment of LINDT BAGS of chocolate for ONE dollar that are usually $5+. The quality may not be the best but for paper items, crafts, one time use, toiletries on the go, cards and disposable items this place beats the other dollar stores by a huge margin. It's a fun place to go and grab for last minute items and stationary supplies. It's fairly new and I see the staff working to keep it clean and organize, as you can see from the pics taken, the aisles are clean and items are in place. I've been here three times and will stop by again for craft supplies and therapeutic supplies for the kids I work with! Thanks for the affordability and convenience! read more

I like that it has a wider selection than other dollar stores. Different foods, more imported products that are used in other countries, not just made there for U.S. consumption. For little money you can leave with a lot. read more

This place has the worst customer service!!!!! I got balloons blown up here and they deflated less then 24 hrs and went back and they refused to redo 2 balloons that I paid extra to have blown up. They said that I should have been told that they only last 8hrs! Ummmmmm!!!!!! Wasn't told that and that's beside the point.....customer service is to please your customers and not be rude! I will never return and continue getting balloons from PARTY CITY where the balloons last more then 24hrs!!!!!!! read more

Being a dollar store, this is great for typical everyday items. Because I work in retail I know that not all reviews are based on what a store has for sale, it's also based on customer service, cleanliness, etc. My one star is for the product they have in the store. Aside from the open products and mess upon mess on the shelves, the cashier I had last night was the rudest cashier I have ever come into contact with. When I got to the register I said "hi" and received no greeting back. She started texting on her phone when I went to hand her my money and said "hold on" as she continued to text. I then asked her for a big bag instead three little bags and she yells at me "what?!" And then throws the bag at me. The most unpleasant experience I have ever had. Dollar Zone does need to realize that customer service is extremely important. read more
