It came out so great, my husband and I now want to find other vintage pieces to have them bring the life back into! We were able to see other projects they were working on when we picked up the chair. They have a lot of custom pieces. Had we known that, we never would have made our recent purchase of a new sofa....We would have had them make one for us to the 'exact' dimension instead of how we made compromises with the sofa we purchased.

The pieces were all wonderful, and I know that at least some were artfully restored, so well, in fact, that I even asked the owner about the great condition of most of the things, and she was happy to show me exactly where certain pieces were restored (she seemed to indicate that they are sent off for professional restoration). It's worth noting that I didn't see a piece that was obviously restored, and everything had a great patina. As I told her, if I had the money, I would be a frequent patron!

Gary at Locatelli Smith got back to me immediately and his quote seemed reasonable (the other place didn't return my email until two weeks later, and their quote was higher). He asked what kind of color and pattern I had in mind and then brought over several books of swatches for me to look through. I wanted some time to mull over the swatch choice, so he let me keep two of the swatch books for a day or two. Upholstery fabric isn't cheap, so I really appreciated that I had the time to feel comfortable with my choice. Gary picked up the chair and the swatch books, and told me when the chair would probably be done. When he dropped it off, I couldn't have been happier. The chair looks beautiful, and it's obvious that the craftsmanship is very high quality. He added a little stuffing to the seat cushion, so it's even much more comfortable than it was before.
