Customer beware. Let me start by saying that I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience because it was that bad! I wish I had looked into this store prior to visiting it. Timely Treasures seems to have an in person store, while also listing certain items on Facebook Marketplace. I happened to see a chair they were selling on Facebook and really wanted to buy it. Their storefront is located within Mills 58, an appropriate location when you consider all of the vintage and antique stores within this building. I contacted the woman who had listed the chair, and she provided the address, times of operation, and instructions on where to find Timely Treasures within the mill. I arrived, looked at the chair, and decided that I definitely wanted to purchase it. The woman I had spoken to on Facebook was there and let me know that she was going to reduce the price to $125 from the $150 that it was originally listed for. I gave her the cash and she said that she would have one of the men who was there bring the chair down for me. As soon as we passed the threshold of the store, another man appeared. He was very upset when he saw that the chair was leaving, and claimed that he had already made arrangements to sell it to someone else for $350. I feel as though this was an attempt to 'shake me down' for more money. It felt sketchy and shady and like they were waiting for me to speak up and offer more cash. I was left standing there uncomfortably while the man and the woman went back and forth. In the end, the cash was handed back to me. I was told by the woman that I could choose anything else from the store for free. I did not want anything else. We had a deal on the price and I had already paid for the item I originally wanted. The impression that I got was that the man was the owner and had the final say. I must also mention that another customer was leaving the store at the same time. She stopped to whisper to me that she has seen things like this happen at this store before. Wowza! I visit a lot of antique/vintage stores and have never had anything like this happen. If you are cool with possibly being scammed, you should give this place a try! read more
