I have been calling this store for 2 hours straight to reach customer service. Nothing says good customer service more than pissing your customers off by never answering your phone. I even tried the electronics desk hoping I could reach a live person there. Nope, no living, breathing people working in electronics either. Today, I had the pleasure of being helped by Jonathan at Target Santee's customer service counter and once again I am so happy with the wonderful service I received. The customer service is top notch and consistent on every visit. On many occasions, the sales associate had walked with me to where the product was instead of telling or pointing at where I could find it. This is one of the many reasons why I keep on shopping here every week. When I do have to return something, they make it easy and painless . I praise management and the staff at Santee Target. This target every time I go in it has a nice vibe to it. The employees no where stuff is and how much at time it cost. The sale they had on sale the the holidays where some of the best I have seen. The floors and shelves where clean. And the shelves during the holidays where well stocked. The return/exchange process is fast and easy if you need to go pick out a another color/size you can take the item with you and bring the item you want and that is it. read more

I absolutely love shopping at Target. I managed to always find something to purchase whether I need it or just buying something random. I picked up some drinks and toys for my daughter at this location. Great selection but the toys for Shopkins seem to be limited in selection. I still love shopping here. I have a Target Visa card which saves me 5% on my total purchase. I shop at Target often for necessities. If you have the Cartwheel application on your phone, it will get you points and free stuff. Pretty cool. The cashier was nice and quick to ring me up which made the line go quickly. This location was clean and was easy to look for items. This location has a Starbucks inside which is a plus. I have to say I am really disappointed in Target. They said they were not charging late fees due to Covid and even though I told them I was effected they charged them anyway. I also explained to them the only thing I received in the mail was one letter saying my account was not paid and that was a couple weeks before I talked to someone. I just was diagnosed with cancer too and just had surgery so I have a lot on my mind. They wanted to charge me $258 for a $33 purchase. I asked about the late fees and Covid and he said they stopped waiving late fees March 1st. Funny they call me after March 1st and did not try to reach out before. I went online to order the new iPhone, as it advertises a $100 gift card when activating a new phone (not a new line). I made it to where I can go there after work to activate it and get the gift card. The woman in the Target tech department was very helpful and super nice. She was helping me and another costumer at the same time, as she had two computers. We ended up working together for about an hour and half. The woman next to me went to pay first, and this is when the Target tech saw there was no gift card. We looked more into it and finally saw it says new line after you zoom in and click a bunch of links. Mind you, the other woman and I said this was the only reason we came to do this at Target. We even checked with the tech employee before starting all of this. Even on the signs in the store, it says the same thing, online "$100 gift card with an activation." It says nothing about a new line. We then asked if we could speak with a manager as we were misled. She then messaged her boss, who said to take it up with Target. She then called a Lead over the radio, and the guy said he would honor the gift card, but he had to clock out and instructed her to call another lead, Cindy. Once her name came up, everyone in the tech department looked like, "she might not give you a gift card because she can be 'grumpy' or 'it depends on her mood'." Cindy walks over to talk to the tech employee, and even though we both were standing next to each other and she had paid first (I had every intention of paying as well, I just waiting on the gift card problem to be resolved), Cindy only honors the gift card for the woman next to me. She just told me that I have to take it up with online. I then told her I did it online, but it wasn't showing up, so she had to cancel it and redo the whole thing so I'd be able to get the gift card and phone in store. I was truly one step behind and she couldn't honor the gift card? But you can for the lady next to me because she paid for hers first? I was so embarrassed and upset on how I was spoken to. I felt as if I didn't matter when I spend enough time and money at Target, let alone Santee Target. I do not understand how she said no to me and yes to the other lady when we were there for the same reason. The tech employee told me I could try to come back tomorrow with a different lead -- a "nicer lead". I was going to try, but I was embarrassed and felt uncomfortable being back after being treated the way I was in front of another customer and the other employees. I am honestly not sure if I will ever go back to that Target, as I've even seen Cindy most of the time I go there since I work across the street. It would be one thing If we both couldn't get gift cards, but it's bad customer service to only honor the other customer because she paid before me. Even if the lead before her said he would take care of both of us, Cindy couldn't care less and didn't let me finish explaining myself before walking away and ignoring me. I love this Target. It's big, the lay-out is nice, and the employees are super friendly. We go here so often my kids recognize the sign, and say "Target!". There is a Target down the street from my house, but I go to this one instead (even though the sales tax is higher) because it's just better. My boys love the toy section. It takes up half the store! I don't know what it is about Target and my youngest, but he always takes a dump in his diaper when we are here. It is the weirdest thing. Today was no exception. I do curbside pickups cuz I have a baby in my car. So I always end up coming back here to do exchange when my husband can take care of my baby at home then the employees don't even apologize. Attention Target shoppers! This particular location is one of the cleanest and friendliest Target in the San Diego area. I personally am a Home Depot kind of guy but I was asked by my wonderful wife to return an item. I was on a mission, I proceeded to the customer service area and I was immediately greeted by a smiling lady who knew I was there to return something. She didn't even asked if there was anything wrong with the item, she inspected it and and politely said that the credit will appear on the credit card used. All I can say was wow, I should have asked her name so that I could have written a letter to her manager. Note to self, I have to do that next time. As a society we emphasize on what angered us and not what pleased us. I will have to make a conscious effort to give credit/praise when is it is warranted. This young lady was awesome! read more

I live in Lakeside so frequently visit this Target. Came in with a friend tonight so she could pick out a Chromebook for school. Chuck was working the tech area and he was great. He had a few people waiting ahead of us who he referred to as 'guests' rather than customers which I thought was a nice touch. He listened to my friend's needs and was able to give her a great recommendation. Overall left feeling that we had a great experience. read more

This target is like every target. They have the same items, although there's usually not a lot that is "on sale" Usually (like other targets ). Their selection is pretty good, and their concessions area is usually well stocked (popcorn is made fresh, and the fridge near there is well stocked). Employees are nice, but the bathrooms are sometimes dinghy (stuff on the floors, and needs TP sometimes). It's better than some targets (mission valley is crazinesssss)!!!! read more

I had a horrible experience at this target. I wanted to upgrade my phone and the color I wanted was in stock at this location. I called to make sure they had it in stock as I didn't want to drive 15 miles for nothing. I asked what time the Tech closed and was told 7pm. I drove from Balboa in rush hour traffic and arrived there at 6:45. The Tech was assisting another customer and someone asked I if I needed help. I told him I wanted to upgrade my phone and he said only the Tech could help me. The Tech heard my conversation and did not say anything to me until I had been standing there for 10 min. She tells me the customer she is with is the last customer and she can't help me because she gets off at 7pm. I told her I drove 15 miles to get there. She didn't care and refused to help me as she just wanted to go home. Do not come here to upgrade your phone! They are rude. read more

I wish I could give this store a 0! This is a negative review for CHUCK from electronics and the MANAGER! Chuck told me on two occasions over the phone that a shipment of a hard to find funko pop would be available today in the morning. He even told me that he wants one for himself and will be here as soon as the store opens to get one for himself. My fiance drove a long distance to pick up one of these items this morning. However even tho he was first in the store this morning, CHUCK had all three of the pops on hold specifically for him and his friends. He even used his employee discount on himself and all his friends' individual purchases. With rare pops the policy is first come first serve, no holds. But he had them on hold for himself and his buddies. CHUCK told me to come early this morning. Why would you tell me to waste my time coming if you know you're gonna hook yourself and all your friends up?! Complained to an unhelpful manager who did not accomodate us in any way! Used to love our neighborhood Target, but now it's not how it used to be. Since trolley is right there, lots of homeless go to the restrooms and cruise around the parking lot and the store. I don't feel comfortable walking out in the dark either. Restrooms (and newly renovated) are pretty gross and the NEW Starbucks as well. Trash always on the floor, tables dirty AND lots of "comfy" people hanging out for the free wifi and water. I understand the struggle can be real, but I am also concerned for our safety and the sanitation for all. I see or hear plenty of staff calling security ALL the time to check on "suspicious" guys in restrooms or in the ladies restroom. Do NOT let your kids go ALONE! Also, I THINK they should ALWAYS have at least 2 people working Starbucks. Even wth 2 people in line, it's SUPER SLOW. At least 15 min wait when there is only 1 person in front of me. I do wait if I'm in no rush, but I sometimes go to the dollar section and that one person is still standing there waiting for their order. Hopefully, with reviews they will make some changes for the better. OH! AND the infant/ toddler kids section?! What happened there!? Looks like a tornado went through it! It's a mess everytime we visit that section. Overwhelming for sure! Makes me sad to see such a BEAUTIFUL store it once was become this. read more

To the parents of special needs children, you should read this. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the manager who was working today, April 28, 2017, who threw my adult, high functioning yet special needs son out of the store. My son had a very embarrassing accident in the restroom today and even though I called to explain that my wife was on her way to rescue our son from and obviously embarrassing situation, the person I spoke to did nothing and 5 to ten minutes afterwards, when some customers complained about the situation in the restroom, instead of being sympathetic or understanding that sometimes accidents happen, the manager decided my son needed to get out and stand in front of the store and wait for his mother. Santee Target is the best in San Diego, period. With the lowest sales tax in East County, a freshly remodeled store, and now groceries(!) I cannot help but sweep the store on a weekly basis for all my necessities. This location is a breeding ground for Covid mutations. Soooo many people not even attempting to wear a mask while employees do nothing about it; not even wearing it as a chin diaper.
