I go to target for all my needs. Wether it is furniture, groceries, electronic es, fixtures, decor, school supplies, part favors, literally everything. Less then 4 weeks I purchased Dr. Dre Wireless beats. They worked wonderful but my phone was having difficulties. As I went last night to return them, Norma on customer support was being extremely rude, and made me feel uncomfortable. As I too deal with costumers, I never thought one would be so rude and disrespectful. Norma gave me attitude, and very rude looks. Don't think I'll be going to this target again. Huge disappointment. I've never seen such an organized mess. This store is torn side to side and cluttered. Nothing is in the right place and it's on the ground or it's somewhere else. They need some structure here and start running it like a store. One isle some kid were messing around and tearing up and security was not intervening. I am reviewing my many experiences with Target Pharmacy! This pharmacy is wonderful! The pharmacists are overly helpful and always go out of there way to help! The pharmacy technicians and staff are equally friendly and as helpful. I've been using Target Pharmacy for as long as they have had one in this location, when CVS took over I was worried, because at least the couple CVS's I've used in the past were almost never a good experience. This pharmacy still even as CVS, surpasses any other pharmacies I have been to! read more

I've probably haven't been to the best Target in town, but I'd rather go to Target over Wal Mart and K Mart. This is one of the best department stores I've ever been to. The clothes they sell are the kind of clothes that you would actually want to PURCHASE and WEAR! Also like the shoes too :) The prices aren't as cheap as Wal Mart's, but they're decent. read more

Second time being in the "renovated" target. Piece of trash now. I currently have a broken leg and the first time coming here their electric carts were out of order so I crutched around the whole store. The second time here they had absolutely no electric carts but just dumb wheel chairs. This place is just trash now. It's just a more expensive dollar tree now. It's target. Or as I call it (tar-jay). YES. I do this. If I'm ever feeling down, I walk around Target. Target is kind of like Walmart for people a little more attractive. You know what I mean? The lights are a little brighter - the customers are a little more attractive. Even the babies are dressed cuter that go to Target. I usually come in to buy Mossimo shirts because they make me look stronger than I really am. The main reason I head to Target it to people watch. I walk in, hit a left and get some popcorn and a medium regular coke. Diet coke is for quitters, but anyway... I don't usually buy produce or food from Target so I can't comment on that. Someone literally wrote that the "food court is the bane of this Target". Really? REALLY? THE BANE OF THIS TARGET? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Enough. I kinda pride myself on going to Targets in every city I can. Target was uber cool growing up. I can still get in trouble stopping in for one item and leaving with $100 worth of stuff I didn't plan on. Who can resist their jewelry or makeup? This location is needing severe help. It's dirty for one. Every cart or hand basket has trash in it. The aisles are littered with clothes. They need more help. The only noticeable change to this location between 2007 with I fist lived here and 2013 when I moved back was the addition of the Starbucks and the relocation of the customer service desk. If I were any crazier, I would drive the hour out of my way to San Luis Obispo just for an uber more pleasant shopping experience. That location is WAY more modern, bright, and inviting. Where to begin? Sorry to say I found the store rather devoid of anyone to ask questions and show me where I can find an item. It's not as bad as 6-7 years ago, when there were five of us waiting in the electronics department, and the 17-year-old looking clerk was on the phone having difficulty in speaking (and not at all acknowledging the impatient customers). I still take my business elsewhere and don't mind paying a little more for someone's knowledgeable assistance! It CAN be fun to walk and walk and walk through the store, trying to spot a clerk. Typical Target store. Little bit smaller store than the ones I've seen. Good place to shop and kill time. Free wi-fi is a plus and food court price is reasonable. And now have Starbucks inside. Staff is not that friendly. To me, they only seem to care about signing you up for the red card. Bathroom looks dingy and a lot of the times paper towels missing. Can't seem to ever find the size I need for my toddler son. His size for the ones I want are almost always missing. read more

I can't recommend Target's tech department highly enough.  My flip cell phone stopped working.  I'm a senior lady who knows nothing about cell phone technology. Sandra in the  Target tech department rescued me.  She was so patient with me and spent so much time with me.  She helped me select a new flip phone, activated it for me, transferred the phone number from my old phone, got the minutes I had previously purchased for my old phone to my new phone, and gave me lessons on how the new phone worked.  I could not have asked for better service.  When other customers came to the department she made sure another employee came to assist them while she was busy with my purchase so no one was neglected. There are chairs, too, so you can sit while she got things set up (and she sanitized the chairs beforehand).  If you're in the market for a cell phone go see Sandra at Target!! read more

This target definitely isn't up to target standards. It's old and run down. I swear I heard something crawling around up in the rafters making the square ceiling things move. I shop there less and less. With all the option Santa Maria now has there is rarely a reason I need to go to only target. I find it funny that it's called Target, but really it's a Hit-or-Miss. Most, if not all the products, sold at this Target are over-priced. With the wild exception, most of their products, especially their electronics, toys and furnishing, can be found anywhere else for cheaper. Walmart may not have the best selection to choose from rather than Target, but Target wants to take an arm and a leg from you from the brands they do have. For the service, it's not that horrendous though. It's probably because from charging a bit more that they can expand to a wider variety of products. If you're a card geek, Target puts several stores to shame as far as just what you can buy, having a major section up front and then dozens of extras and older packs in the back. Their toy section may not be as impressive as others, but family favorites can still be found here. Let's be honest; the little food court thing on the left side as you come in, is a joke. The food is too expensive, the options are too few and usually you are not there to eat and, if you were, the last thing you'd be having is popcorn, more than likely. Apologies if I offend the popcorn offienciandos. I simply can't understand the people who carry a bucket of popcorn outside of the area and take it to somewhere like, clothing or furnishings and proceed to touch merchandise, something Target employees are supposed to stop but I seldom see it. Maintenance also seems hit and miss with the place. About half the time when I do want to or have to sit down in the court, the tables have not been cleaned and trash is left in odd places on the ground, as if a brief sweeping is done and nothing else. I don't go specifically for the food, so it does not bother me a large deal, but people who want a clean food experience should beware. What I do like seeing from Target though is their attention to the customers in the cashiering area. Unlike bigger names, they will actually have, depending on traffic, five to six people manning registers at most times, which keeps service and line waits down consistently. I have never been able to complain about how long it took to reach a cashier and that makes me happy as a button. That is to say however, you shouldn't do a gigantic amount of shopping here. They do not have belts to put products on, so you'll be unloading/loading whatever you want to buy. Keep that in mind. If prices were cheaper, I feel like Target would easily surpass other retailers who do not nearly have the same brands as them, but they should also invest in larger sizes. I have never seen an article of clothing at Target bigger than a 2X person and even then, the material would probably shrink back to a 1X when judging by it's material. The pricing of electronics definitely needs to be curbed. If you're looking for video games, cameras or the like, you really need to go elsewhere. Without fail, I have found electronic products much cheaper elsewhere. All-in-all not the greatest store, has definite flaws, but can still be an enjoyable experience--as long as you have a steady hand on your budget and you know *exactly* what you need. Chances are though, that exact need, is cheaper elsewhere. read more

A small Target with limited selection. The biggest problems with this Target is the checkouts don't have rotating belts so you hand the items to the cashier they bag them and hand them back. Extremely time consuming for large shopping trips. Also the parking is limited and they only have a few cart parks. Overall the store is clean, but very busy with lines usually 5 deep waiting for check out. read more

I want to acknowledge Priscilla, an Associate at this store. She was so kind and accommodating. She knows how to treat Customers and obviously enjoys her job. She is a great Asset to Target in Santa Maria. They need to hang on to her and never let her go. She would be a good Teacher to everyone everywhere who is in Customer Service. waited in line for 30 minutes to purchase a vacuum that the Target website showed was in stock at this particular store. while In line I watched in excess of 40 people leave the store and 10 people were allowed in. In essence their staff and management allowed the store to become over crowded, in this time where extreme caution should be employed the management of this store fell down on the job. Then when I finally get into the store it took at least another 20-30 minutes to find out that while the inventory system showed the item in stock it was no where to be found. The manager indicated that it was most likely stolen. So not only is the manager lacking on crowd control, they are also lacking on inventory control and loss prevention. I should have just ordered on Amazon and will most likely stop frequenting this store, due to their lack of safety considerations and lack of ability to stock the items that they say they are stocking. 1hour of wasted time, exposing myself to potential illness for no reason. read more

This place has the WORST customer service ever, Norma at returns and exchanges was the rudest person I have ever met and was even giving me dirty looks for simply asking a question. I had a cordless vacuum that I purchased there that was supposed to last up to 45 min on one charge but for some reason couldn't hold a charge for more then 5 min. I was hoping to return it and get a different one but was told I couldn't return it without the receipt. I then asked if I could simply exchange it for the exact same vacuum hoping a new one would hold a charge and she rolled her eyes at me and said "no." Then rudely walked away to go and talk to another employee about me and how I was annoying. I asked her "Is there anything I can do? Can you see if I bought it on this card?" She then rolled her eyes and said "no." Again at this time another employee came over and checked for me and said "yeah unfortunately we can't do anything and we don't show it being bought on this card I am sorry." After that I still wanted to see what vacuums they did have and went to go and walk through the rest of the store when Norma felt the need to tell me "you can't walk around with that vacuum (even though they said I couldn't return it) you need to put it in your car" she's beyond rude and has the worst dirty looks on her face. I love Target, just not this one. It's the worst Target I've ever shopped at and I've shopped at probably 20 Target stores. It's dirty, disorganized and the lines are always ridiculously long. I waited almost 35 min to check out the other day. The shift leader (or whatever she was), was just walking around instead of helping or getting another cashier. Seems like this is the norm at this store. The employees don't seem to like their job either, I've never been asked if I needed help and I've seen employees ignore people who obviously needed help (having issues loading heavy item into their carts). I shop here because I won't shop Walmart, but I don't like it. Also what's up with not having counter space at check out? If you had longer, motorized check out belt, it would be quicker to unload your items, making the whole process go faster. read more

I have been shopping at this target for over 25 years and have always loved it. Today I was totally astonished at my horrible experience. Start with a trip to the rest room which had no paper goods, enough said on that. Armed with my list of about 6 items that I always shop for at Target I found not one item on the list was in stock. I chose a few substitute items from their messy and ill stocked shelves and headed toward the checkout. There were only a few open checkstands and each one had at least 6-8 carts waiting in line. I chose not to prolong the pain and abandoned my cart and left. I have noticed since the recent reorganization the store is poorly stocked and is always a mess. Target better get it together before it goes the way of K-Mart. If the shopping experience continues to be a misery, Amazon is a great alternative. read more

My experiences at our newly remodeled Target have been less then stellar lately. The store is messy with clothes all over the floor! Was trying to dodge running over the clothes with my cart. No one around to help! A few days prior to today's experience I had to exchange a gift I had received and was basically told that without a receipt I couldn't make the exchange! Who has a receipt for a gift!? I didn't want any money I wanted to exchange the item for a working one! I finally called for a manager who spoke to me as if she was a prerecorded message! " I'm sorry ma'am, our store policy is, we can not exchange this item without a receipt" The item was a Target brand item so it could not have been purchased anywhere else! Once again, I DIDN'T want money back I wanted to exchange it for a properly working item!! Needless to say I left the store furious and called their corporate offices! They sent me a gift receipt for my purchase! We are not left with many choices in Santa Maria otherwise I would not do business with this Target store! read more

Me and my best friend went here this past weekend! I haven't been since they re modeled it! It looks way better than it did before! The only downfall is I feel the women's clothing section doesn't have a nice flow to it but it's not a big deal. Also I wanted to buy a mini Christmas tree but they didn't have any from what I saw which was a bummer but again not a big deal. Brought in a brand new ipod to return with gift receipt. The receipt was expired but the customer service person swiped the UPC, looked at his screen, and told me he could offer me a $46 Target gift card instead. I accepted. He asked to see my drivers license. He then opened the brand new ipod by removing seal, looked inside the box at contents, then said actually maybe he could not give card for ipod. He went to ask, came back and said no, couldnt do it. I told him we had a verbal contract when he offered the card and I accepted. I now also had an opened ipod that damaged the value for resale or to regift. No help. I found a supervisor on the floor and explained the concern. Just a sympathetic look. Clearly a lack of training on the part of both staff and a lack of authority on the part of the supervisor who should have followed through and provided the card. I would have used the card in the store on the same trip. Now this store will lose much more than the $46 Target gift card as I do not plan to return. read more

This is the worst Target. The selection of toys is very minimal. The layout, even after the "remodel" is confusing. When you can find a staff member and ask for help to find something they have no idea where anything is, with exception to the grocery department. I only come here when I feel it's absolutely necessary, and then just end up annoyed. Save your time and just order from Amazon. read more
