My granddaughter spilled orange juice all my beautiful white couch, and I hadn't realized it for hours. I called to ask how to clean it. Michelle spent 90 minutes with a couple of total strangers not yet ready to buy and we got back to the car saying "why go anywhere else"? My wife and I are moving from San Jose to Trilogy in Nipomo during the summer of 2018. Since we're not taking everything with us and looking for a fresh start in a new home, there are several things we need to find, including a sofa, entertainment unit, bookcases and assorted odds and ends. Although we're not ready to make decisions, we've spent lots of time investigating websites like Houzz and reading reviews on Yelp. Things always manage to look great when caught by a professional photographer, but the question is can you get the right advice on the right item at the right price...especially when shopping for things you might buy every 5, 10 or 20 years. We believe Modelhom can do it. Michelle interviewed us as we walked around the shop (actually a good looking warehouse in a corner of Grover Beach) and offered suggestions on whatever we wished to know. She's an encyclopedia of furnishings in a very friendly, relatable way. Wonder how to build a sectional with a certain shape, style, fabric and feel? It didn't seem to be a problem. Michelle said almost anything can be done with the manufacturers used by Modelhom and offered to meet us at the model of our soon-to-be-built home next time we're in town. Price is often a fear factor when shopping for things you don't usually buy...especially if you can't go online to examine costs like a car. Michelle showed us the price in writing for everything we discussed. Were the numbers appropriate? A leap of faith? Hard to say, but compared to a few other shops in the area (Couch Potato and San Luis Traditions), we felt Modelhom offered lower prices, better value, a huge in-store and online inventory and the one-on-one no pressure expertise of Michelle (we're sure the other 2 young women, Karen and Rachel, are just as fine). The best part is that Karen or Michelle, for a reasonable fee, will do an in home consultation where they discuss your needs, check out your personal style and do any necessary measuring. Next, they schedule a private appointment in the store and after doing their homework meet with you again to offer suggestions including fabric samples, color options, etc. We have always found it hard to buy furniture because we didn't want to make mistakes. With their help during the past year we have purchased several pieces of furniture and accessories for our new home. Modelhom - New dining table & chairs! - Furniture Stores Near Me - Arroyo Grande, California

They completely did not tell us the truth about how long it would take it or not let us cancel our order right away. The sales lady seemed so helpful, but after much debate, she talked us into ordering this round table. She said they would be delivering it right away because it was the last item on the truck the truck would now be full and could be shipped out to them. So it would be really really fast, and she said it can take 10 days or so and that could be 10 business days but that would be a rush. She put a rush on the order. Within 24 hours, I emailed her to cancel because really we just did not want that table it had an expansion in it and we don't want to have a line across the table and we should not have let them talk us into. She said it was too late we could not but that it was a rush order so we would get it right away and be happy with it. Over A month later... I emailed her to say what the heck and why did she tell us a lie. What the heck. Just another place that lies I suppose. There is so much texture on top of the table that you can't use it to write on or anything like that. I regret having shopped there. But especially regret listening to a lady who seem so kind it was just feeding us whatever lines she thought we wanted to hear I suppose. Sad read more

I was looking to replace my living room seating and was told about Modelhom. I live in Grover Beach so I was surprised to learn that we had this great furniture store just down the street. We went to look and ended up purchasing a couch and two recliners. I was amazed at the selections and their ability to get you custom features and fabrics. I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money and I was thrilled to get a brand new 3-seat sofa for $1100! It is very comfortable and the fabric repels liquids. They were not pushy (thank you!) and didn't try to talk us into anything. They listened to what we wanted and walked us through the process. The products sell themselves and their experience shows. We decided to start by having Karen come to our home and help us with ideas to refresh our living space before we made any purchases. Located in an off-the-beaten path area of Grover, this little shop features catalogs full of wonderful items you can order with samples of fabrics available to take home and test out. Many of the items are on the floor so you can see how the cushions will feel, etc. and the staff is very kind and helpful. We haven't yet placed an order but others in our neighborhood have had very good success and recommended we stop by. I'm glad we did. I live all the way in Paso Robles and was looking for a really good quality couch for an affordable price (I'm a 21 years old and can't afford to drop 3-4K on a couch). I went to couch potato here in Paso and the guy gave me a quote of over $3,000 which wasn't going to do. I then went on yelp to find a furniture store with great ratings, and Modelhom definitely lives up to their rating! I first chatted them on Instagram to make sure they could deliver to Paso and they seemed super nice and responded within a day. I then went in yesterday and everyone was so nice and helpful! They completely focused on me and what I wanted and were so patient and kind. And their prices were great! I really appreciate them being so welcoming and attentive because sometimes people my age aren't taken seriously and sometimes are ignored in stores like these. Thank you so much ladies! A little hard to find but well worth it! Really nice stuff and far cheaper than any of the other stores we looked at-highly recommend.

We purchased a recliner, which we picked up ourselves and was fine. Then we purchased two two sofa tables that were on display. Then we came back and purchased a dining set that had to be sent from the manufacturer. The service before and during the three sales was very good. We even brought a friend in, who began to choose a sofa herself. Then the dining set was delivered: One chair had a missing/wrong leg, so the chair was taken back by the delivery person (it took weeks to get the replacement, and we had to call in twice). When the delivery man had just left with the chair he had to take back, we noticed that there was an obvious repair that had been done on the top of the table, in between two seams of wood. Someone had used wood glue - badly - and left a raised, bumpy seam about three inches long, and then finished over it. There was also a small "ding" that had been finished over, but that was not as concerning, as the table leans slightly toward "rustic" style. We called the store right away, and they stonewalled us. We sent pictures, explaining that it was hard to see in pics because of the dark finish, and asked that they please send someone out (15 minute drive max, as we're in AG) to look at it, and they refused. We had planned to purchase a living room chair and bench, but they lost good customers - including our friend - when it would have been SO easy to keep us. Just an acknowledgement that they were sorry we had an issue with the table, and an offer of assistance in dealing with the manufacturer, if that's what we had to do, would have gone a very long way. I purchased a sofa in the perfect style, perfect color, and perfect price. However, the back cushions were so full of fluff they consumed most of the seat. I had to unzip them and remove enough fluff so that there was room to sit. The seat fabric appears to be a different dye lot from the rest of the sofa (slightly darker) and it wrinkles! So overall the sofa is the lowest quality sofa i have ever purchased. However, the price was great, the color was great, it's comfortable and I got what i wanted for a price i could afford. It's already starting to get a little soft, but again - the price was less than $1500! Deliver guys were very good too. Lovely, easy to navigate showroom, lots of fabric samples, unobtrusive staff.
