I'm sad that many stores at this Masonic mall closed, but glad this Target didn't shut down when a few other Targets closed in SF. It's the closest to where I live. I enjoy using the self checkout, so I can get $0.05 discount for bringing my own bag haha. I like buying the Target brand for Swiffer refills here. It's also nice that they have a Starbucks inside. I found out I can use split payment here today, so I was able to use up the $1.37 left in my Visa prepaid gift card and then pay the rest with my credit card. After over an hour I'm still waiting at a Target store on Geary in San Francisco (to get an item my friend wants that they saw online was here), I hate rummaging through all these damn ailes. I've got a list of other items to get as well, and what I want is for one of their employees to say "can I help you?" (like I had to do in the 1990's, when I last worked retail), and then they'd fill my shopping cart, and then I give them (or another Target employee) money, and then I go home with the items I bought. The third "team member" I've spoken to here, directed me to the fourth employee here that I've spoken to today at the "Exchanges & Returns" and to ask for a "personal shopper", I was told to stand aside and "wait for a manager". I've been here an hour now, and I still haven't been handed what I came here for! Edited to add: after over two hours, and my speaking to seven Target employees, at this store, I was finally directed to where to get inside the store what I came to get, and I made my purchase and left, then I remembered that I needed batteries as well, so I went back and I went to the electronics section; there I was helped quickly, and well; I got the batteries and a couple of other items, and they rang me up righr there. After today I highly recommend shopping at this Target's electronics section, but (unless you already know where in the store to find it), I don't recommend the rest of the store, as getting help to find the items is just too hard, and takes too long. read more

I have not had this experience at other Target stores. Just this store at Geary and Masonic. This is not the first time I had this happen, but my first time complaining. The "store detective / loss prevention " person followed my daughter and I so aggressively this Sunday ( 3/30/25 at around 3:15 - 3:50 pm on the 1st floor). We were so aggressively followed - at one point she wedged herself between us to look in our cart - actually bent over to get a good look inside our hand basket. I know Target monitors their yelp reviews - please look at your security footage ASAP. We were in the bathing suit section on the 1st floor. I'm a woman (in a tan jacket) with a teenager. It was a special shopping trip for my daughter, and she was so excited. I work so hard for my money and to be hounded like this. I don't want to shop there anymore. I don't feel I did anything suspicious to warrant this attention other than open my purse to make a call. There were so many other shoppers - did security follow us because my daughter is a POC. I can't help but feel this is the reason. Target welcomed my money but not my family as customers. read more

This is pretty much my go-to Target in SF. I always seem to just end up here when I'm tired and in need of snacks. Like a lot of other City Targets, this store has two floors. While it is smaller overall than a standard Target, I've never had trouble finding anything I needed. They still have all of the regular departments and amenities, just with less space. The employees do watch everyone like a hawk, but that's because this is, apparently, a super high-theft location. Anyway, I come here to charge my phone, use the restroom, and buy snacks, in that order. Actually, the last time I came here was to buy alcohol with some guy I met on Facebook, but anyway.. I think there might be ChargeItSpots on both floors, but I usually use the one on the top floor. I wish they had them at more stores, cause it's a pretty cool feature. You lock your phone into a password-protected box full of charging cables, and it charges while you shop. The only feature that I would like to see in this store that I haven't noticed so far is a water-bottle refilling station. While I was searching Google to make sure I was reviewing the right location (having never checked in, apparently), I came across the information that there used to be a Sears in this building, followed by a Mervyn's. Overall a decent location that I will almost definitely visit again for the aforementioned reasons of phone chargers, restrooms, and snacks. read more

I went to Target yesterday to buy some cleaning supplies and was shocked at the register. Everything I had in my cart were on sale, however I was told unless I share my email and phone number with Target I would not be getting the sale prices. I also had picked up some beer and was told no drivers license no beer. I should add I am 66 years old and show my age. I called the store three times for 10 min. Before someone answered. The manager I spoke with was totally useless offered no explanation except that this is store policy. Needless to say after being a loyal customer since they opened, will not be returning and will let others know of Target stores policy. This is actually a pretty good size target in the middle of San Francisco. For one of the main stuff is upstairs electronics the toys the products as well or else there. And then you can go downstairs to from the women's items clothes and everything else is on sale as well. Such as office supplies pet stuff cosmetics and the pharmacy and also downstairs. Wow, the Starbucks at this Target is the worst I've ever gone to! The baristas were not just rude - they were inhumane. Granted, my situation is unusual: I carry a backpack that inconspicuously holds a feeding pump and bag that had become occluded. Iv got a tumor that requires this for me to eat. I needed a simple cup of water, to pour in to clear the blockage. Their practice apparently is to literally ignore their customers when we need a cup of water and they are closed (an hour early, btw). I explained my medical situation, and the man gave me a cup of water with the warning/advice to bring my own supply next time. Good advice - bad attitude. Then Hu's female counterpart made a crack about cancer, and asked me to leave the little area where the Starbucks is (no separation from the store, while the man goes to get the security guard - who has the sense to realize they're being jerks and courteously shows me a better place to sit. All I can say is: they must have suffered some awfully inhumane customer abuse to behave this way. We're just trying to make it through the day. Help us out a little. read more

The restrooms are insanely disgusting and overflowing toilets now. They need to clean them every hour since there's so many people and bus stop people as well. They need to remove the charging sockets next to the baby changing wall. Homeless people charge their phones everyday inside the restrooms. This is a City Target and if you know and understand the limitations of a CITY location then you are not surprised that not everything is stocked and you want be walking around for an hour, lol. I usually love target but this one needs work. For groceries, they have run out of bags (without telling people upfront before they start shopping -- it's not hard to put up a sign), wasting people's time if they forgot bags. Men's clothing is upstairs but no fitting room upstairs -- you need to take it downstairs. Lines often get quite long upstairs. I definitely don't recommend for groceries. read more

I had two encounters this afternoon that left me with the clear message that Target does not care about my business. I shop where I can get the items I'm looking for, where the prices are reasonable and the salespeople make me feel as if the establishment wants my business. These two encounters failed miserably on three. I have plenty of other options for one and two. I went in this afternoon to return a couple of things and to buy several others, one a tech item. The returns went smoothly, thus the 2. The customer service offered by a tech salesperson when I went to buy a printer and the cashier I went to pay for it both rate a zero. Those experiences obliterated the good will that Target earned with the way it handled the returns. Salesperson: I told her I was looking for a printer and one other item, she showed me a printer I decided to buy. It's heavy. I needed a cart. I told the salesperson so. Basic good manners and common sales procedure suggest that she should have offered to go get the cart and put the item in it for me. Nope! I'm a woman of a certain age. That should have clinched the deal. Nope again! She just pointed and said "They're over there". I asked her to bring me one. She brought the cart over and started to walk away. The obvious thing was to ask if I needed help putting it in the cart. Nope. I had to call her back and asked her to do so. She put the printer in the cart. She said good-bye and walked away again. She didn't ask if I needed ink - that's a pretty obvious question when someone buys a printer - or ask if I needed anything else. I was planning to buy at least one other tech item and a certain non-tech standard Tech item that I'd looked for but hadn't been able to find. I didn't bother to ask her to help me with them. I was done. The cashier: as I walked over to the cashier I noticed the printer box was pretty banged up. When I got to the cashier I asked him if there were any in the back. That's a straight up-or-down question. Nope! The cashier asked me if that was the last one on the shelf. I had no interest in getting into a dialog about the printer's availability, on the shelf, in the back or anywhere else. I gave up and walked away. When I'm shopping I expect the sales team to offer to help and to provide answers to question I ask or tell me they don't know. I don't negotiate for answers. read more

Dear Target, Who do I need to email to object to the 6pm closing time for all SF targets? How long do you think this will last? I am thinking you guys are losing WAY more in revenue than people were stealing. All the people who needed to stop by target on their way home from work can't go anymore. I had the worst experience here Saturday night. I went to target around 9:00pm to get food for my sick 3 month old puppy. When I walked in 6 security were harassing a man in a wheelchair causing a lot of commotion and I almost walked out. Instead I decided to get what I needed and a few things I didn't need as one does at Target. After hearing on the loud speaker that the downstairs registers close at 9:45pm I go downstairs to checkout. When I get downstairs at 9:35 they told me the registers were closed... so I head back upstairs to check out. I pay for my things and ask the guy at checkout to please put the meat in a separate plastic bag and I bought a .99 cent target bag too. The man hands me one bag and not the other. I head downstairs unknowingly and someone stops me and tells me I forgot a bag. At this point I'm pretty disappointed that I have to go back up once again. They didn't even offer to bring the bag down until I threw a stink. The manager Kevin was so rude even when I thanked him. He told me I was lying and they never make closing announcements "hello! I'm not stupid and making these things up" Target makes closing register announcements. He then told me my pet was not allowed and to get out. I told him she is a service animal and not considered a pet. He proceeded to say yeah right you need to leave. I've never been treated so rudely in my life and I have no idea how this guy Kevin is a manager with the lack of people skills and customer service training. This target store has the worst customer service and although I just live in Laurel height and it's so close, I will not be returning. I am also calling corporate to make a formal complaint against the manager. read more

I stop in about twice a week for the past month and the same poop stain remains on the floor in the same spot. I saw what looked like dog poop on the floor, then I come back days later with the same poop stained floor. Don't you guys mop?? It's literally been like a month and it's the same poop stain!!! The lower parking lots tend to be a headache. If you're not buying anything bulky, park in the upper lot where the Best Buy used to be for less headaches. This isn't a superb city Target but it gets the job done when I need my essentials. Often times I am disappointed because they don't have large selection for certain things, like in the dollar section compared to other normal Targets (ex. Colma). But then that just reminds me that this is a City Target so of course they're gna have smaller selection. Otherwise, things are organized for the most part. Groceries on the upper floor. They moved women shoes to downstairs with women clothing. Staff is friendly and though it gets busy on the weekends, they have registers upstairs and downstairs, self check-out included. read more

I think some birdbrain came up with a "new merchandising concept" of how to organize this store. The layout makes no sense at all. For example, why put the makeup section near the furniture department and a floor away from the personal care section? I don't know about you, but if I'm buying toothpaste, I'd expect to find moisturizer and eyeliner somewhere nearby, not on an entirely different floor near lamps and desk chairs. The grocery area was similarly organized and the cashiers moved at a glacial pace. And yes, I paid cash, not wanting to become one of 70M people who had their credit and debit card information stolen. Because Target still seems confused how it happened or even the extent of the cyber theft, I don't trust that they can keep my information secure. There is literally no reason to go to Target. 1. Food- limited selection, high prices. Go to Safeway instead. 2. Electronics - limited selection, higher prices. Go online or to Walmart. 3. Toys- limited selection. Walmart has toys and bikes at discount or online. 4. Clothes- very limited, Target brand not good, high prices. Go to the mall. 5. Other: Tools, stationary, garden- super limited. Home Depot, Office Depot, Walgreens for cards. I don't even know why people shop there. Maybe they think one stop shopping, but Target never has enough selection. You might as well shop Amazon and not have to make the trip. saving time. Later I notice a janitor using the same shopping carts to dump trash. When I pointed it out to security. They said he is not a target employee he works for the building. They are always in a constant state of moving everything around. Things are always stocked in the wrong place - with the wrong price. So much hope smashed into a million pieces. Really good location. Building design horrible. 4 floors of garage space but can't go up and down the floors by car, and when you drive all the way up to Lot D, it's one way and a nightmare to get back! Who thought this was a good plan? Tried to do a pick up of one simple item. Clicked I was there, no show for 15 minutes. Went inside and there's no one at the pickup counter for several minutes. I hear rustling in the back but no one dares to come out. Two more people show up behind me. It's a mess. Why offer car pick up of orders when no one is there to give them to you? Also lots of Target workers in there milling about but no one is working - or they're working sloowwwllllyyyy. This is purposeful and they should be let go. With rising prices on everything, no one should be paid full time to do half their job. read more
