Cool little Target. Perfect for basic essentials and some other things. It's nice to get in and out of here easily. You won't be able to get furniture and things here but enough of things you will usually need weekly. Nice parking lot, helpful staff. It's a hidden gem. read more

Weird Target store. It's so small. I needed to purchase an adapter for my phone so this was a quick stop. A $5 adapter was locked up in a glass case and I had to find an employee to help me! Once the employee took the adapter from the case, he wouldn't let me take it with me to checkout. He said he'll bring it to customer service and I could ask for it when I'm at the checkout area. "You've seen one, you've seen one 'em all" I had enough schooling to know that this rule of thumb definitely doesn't apply to everything in life... Cause let me tell ya, this Target was nothing like any other Target I've seen, stepped into or shopped at. ----------Let me explain---------- In April 2024, we were down in San Diego for a little mini vacay. After realizing we forgot to bring our kids pool floatie to utilize at the hotel pool, we decided to check out the local Target. (I'm about to drop yet another saying your way) "It's not the destination, it's the journey" Well let's just say, the journey was indeed, a journey! We plugged in the address to the nearest target on Grape Street and off we went... Through the city, over the hill, into a neighborhood, by the park, between a golf course, down the hill, into a another neighborhood and then suddenly... there. it. was... The weirdest/COOLEST looking Target we've ever seen. Most, No.. All Targets I have ever been to have been a square, box looking store (hence the name, "big box retailer") Well not Target on Grape Street!!! There was nothing square about this place in any way, shape (get it?) or form. That's right!! This Target looks just like an airplane hangar and I was digging it! O.k, Time to go inside and see if there's an actual airplane inside.... There wasn't =( (Insert mind blown emoji here) WT actual Fluff! This is the tiniest target ever!!! Fun fact: most Target locations are a staggering 135,000 Square Feet. This San Diego Target in South Park (no, not that South Park) located at 3030 Grape Street is a mere 18,000 Square Feet... Yeah, I told you it was tiny! Despite not having what we came here for, after seeing the size of this location, we completely understood why they didn't. This location is definitely here to accommodate the local neighborhood's needs and just stock the essentials. So as fast as we went in, we came out even faster.... Floatieless! Lol So what did we do?? We plugged in the address to the next closest Target and off we went... Through the neighborhood, up the hill, between the golf course, by the park, into another neighborhood, down the hill, through the city, onto the freeway, straight to a normal, non-mini target where we got the cutest pool floatie ever!! So, the next time you are out in San Diego and you forget to pack the pool floaties.... Don't come to this Target! But if you want to experience one of the coolest looking Targets on the west coast and don't mind a little adventure along the way to get there... The smallest Target I ever visited! Selection of products is the same! Very small and unimpressive. Even the shopping carts are adjusted and look like children's toys. The best part is - you cannot take the shopping carts with you to your car as they will lock up past the entry doorway. Definitively not a Target I will ever come to again!!! read more

This is a really bizarre Target. South Park has such a unique and special feel to it and then there's this tiny Target plopped right in the middle of the neighborhood. It's great in the sense that there aren't a lot of grocery stores in the neighborhood, but it's strange because it's so small and limited. This Target has the essential sections that a typical Target would have but with a much more limited number of offerings. There's plenty of parking in the Target parking lot and it's convenient to be able to grab something you need on the way home from dinner or a drink. read more

They're racist, I was having trouble choosing a hair care product of course & the whole staff kept pretending to work around me, making me uncomfortable & not even helping me. I turn around & it's 2 just standing there & go straight towards the stuff I just touched. Super sad & uncomfortable that I left smh. Headed to spend my money elsewhere. We like this Target for the most part. They have a good small selection of most items you may need or want. They have toys for the kiddos, games, and essentials. They have baby items wipes, diapers, snacks, bottles, etc. They have cleaning supplies, home goods, makeup, nails, etc. We do a lot of car pick-up which is very convenient at this location because its central and easy to park. read more

This mini Target, albeit convenient and close to my home, is the worst when it comes to customer service. I've gone in on multiple occasions to get one of the deals that show up on my Target app, just for them to tell me that it only applies to online and pickup orders. Sooo you're saying I can go outside, place the order to pickup 1 item, and get it for cheaper than I would by walking in and it most likely multiple items? Absolute ridiculousness. The Target in Mission Valley is happy to accommodate with zero issues. Sometimes I just don't feel like driving there. It seems to me that Target South Park seems to know they've got a good thing going and they aren't willing to satisfy their customers. Pretty small Target, the grocery section is the biggest of any thing else in the store but I would stick to the packaged goods not so much the produce. Helpful to have the full pharmacy and plenty of parking. No changing rooms if you want to try on clothes and there only ever seems to be one or two cashiers, regardless of how busy it is. read more

Yes, it's a small Target, but suites the community of South Park quite well. They carry a lot of the essentials for comfortable home living, like the shaving gel I purchased, after having dinner nearby. The shelves were well stocked and organized. I did not interact with the employees given I found what I needed rather quickly and used the self check out. The only issue I had at the check was that I could not figure out how to pay with cash, so I had to use my debit card. read more

.....Interesting take on a Target lol. Needed to drop by a Target to grab something quick. I already knew that this was a fairly unique Target just based on arriving and seeing the exterior lol. After perusing inside a bit, turns out that this is pretty much a mini-Target; they have most of the sections you would typically see at a Target (frozen foods, fresh produce, etc.) but sized down greatly (the apparel section in particular is humorously small lol looks more like store decoration if anything). Check-out area consists of mainly self-check-out stands. Only go here if you need to do a quick Target stop. read more

This is the tiniest Target I've ever been to... but it's so cute! Even thought it isn't big in size, it had everything that I needed. A few aisles for each category and a small section for groceries. It must've been a grocery (like Safeway or Jons) before it was a Target. Checking out was a little confusing because there were 2 lines (1 for someone to ring you up and another for self-checkout) but that wasn't worrisome. We only needed a few things (false eyelashes, hair barrettes, UNO card game, Cards for Humanity card game and saw some slippers that were cute). I got everything I needed at this cute little Target. Target on Balboa Ave is the worst Target of all. When you ask someone about an item, no one seems to know where the items are. Also, I called the store today with the number on the printed receipt for me to speak to a manager, the sales associate that answered the phone was rude and said its CVS and she does not know target number because she does not work for Target. I told her the number I called is the number on Target receipt. Get it together Target. I also tried to returned a vitamin Biotin that I purchased on 12/9 and I had a receipt that clearly stated Nature Made- $19.99and used my credit card. The sale associate at the return department said: there is nothing register with that vitamin and that credit card. I showed my credit card number and the vitamin that I bought and was not open. I did the check out on self checkout when I purchased it. Its not my fault that either they labeled wrong or the person in return does not know how to process return. Now, I have to keep the vitamin that I do not need. There is no Target store close by me but Im not ever going to this Target. From now on I will go to Walmart. I do not recommend this Target store to anyone. read more

This is probably THE smallest Target I've ever been to, but I'm sure it was only meant to satisfy the convenience needs of the local neighborhood. It's about 1/4 the size of a normal Target and has all the basics a customer would need from a neighborhood store. You can literally walk through the entire store in about 2 minutes. I was just looking for some cough syrup and I was able to find it in about 30 seconds. That is probably one of the best positives about the store is that it's very easy to navigate through. I guess the big negative of the store is that there isn't much selection. Especially, as far as clothing goes, there's literally about 4 choices of pants. But, I get it... the store was meant more for a convenience for daily needs. The best part about the store is the amount of self checkout registers there are. It was nice to be able to quickly find what I need, check out without a line, and leave without having to interact with anyone. As a lot of we long time residents and home owners have predicted, this place has become dirtier and dirtier. Outside the trash cans are overflowing with recycling, 7-11 cups and food debris thrown on the ground from the food trucks and homeless around the area. The parking lot where people from all over San Diego make it a hazard to even walk to the entrance. Todd Gloria rode into my home as he has with Hillcrest promising that Target will be a good neighbor 2 years later and this place is a low rent version of Gala Foods, complete with all the dirt and grime. This is one of the mini target express locations, so it is a great spot to quickly grab what you need and head out. You can't come do your weekly shopping here but if you ran out of something midweek you can stop here to get it replenished. There is a good amount of parking available. I came here for some mid-day snacks and I was able to find some yummy items. They also have some home items and some clothing too for it something catches your eyes. The staff was also super friendly and helpful while I was there. Overall, not my normal store and I wouldn't come here to get my shopping done but a good spot to stop and just get some items. read more

This place says Target on the outside, but when you go inside it feels like a drug store/convenience store. It's more like a mini Target, or Target Jr. They have a small technology section, clothes section, a pharmacy, some groceries and toiletries, and other basics and essentials. I didn't find anything I wanted to buy this particular day, but I was able to return some items I bought from a regular Target, or Target Sr ;p with a receipt. There is one line for self-checkout on the right side and a line for regular check out and returns on the left. Because this store is tiny, there isn't a separate area for customer service/returns/online pick-up. The associate helping me must have been new, because he didn't know how to process my return. His co-worker working next to him showed him how to do it easily and quickly. He and his co-worker were so nice and genuinely friendly that I would come back to this store because of my experience with them. read more

So I've never heard of a Target Express until seeing one here. Its just like a regular Target but smaller. They have a men's department, a pharmacy, fruits and veggies and so on. Just like most Targets its clean, well organized with quality products. The employees I've came across were friendly and helpful. It's not a huge place and the variety of things available are not what you are going to expect from your typical target. However, they are great since they have a pharmacy you can depend on. Also, they do have food at this location, and the staff are pretty friendly. It's in a nicer part of town then some of the other locations here in San Diego so you get that coming out in ways you don't expect like you can walk into this location and loss prevention are just following anyone under 40 around or being totally unapologetic about it. read more

I am surprised how many items are packed into this small location. There is a good selection of items if you do not want to travel far to another Target. They have clothing, women's handbags, jewelry, electronics, office supplies, small appliances, linens, pillows, baby items, groceries, and surprisingly a large array of alcohol. I came a few months back and I was having such a bad troubling day coming into a store to shop wasn't gonna be any better knowing I'm an elderly lady. This is a Target Express. What that means is that it's not exactly your full on regular Target. Walking up, this place really reminds me of a Walgreens with the way everything is set up and it's layout. I've been to many Target's all over but this one just doesn't feel the same. I feel like it's a condensed version of the regular Targets. They have a little bit of everything from all the different departments. So bear in mind that depending on what you are looking for, this place may or may not have it in stock. There's enough parking outside despite the parking lot not being very big. read more

I like this target as it is never really too busy and the associates are always nice and helpful. With everything going on, they have understandably been out of some things so that is really the only draw-back. You know you've become a dependent when your local target cashier gives you a hug when she sees you (pre-covid). I'm not going to lie, I think I come here maybe 1-3 times a day. I live very close. Yes, they sell out of things, yes they don't carry everything a big target would and yes, it's a tad more expensive, but they have saved sooooo many meals of mine where I was short just 1 thing I forgot. I'm sure haters are going to hate, but they let me bring my German Shepard in with me and has never asked about her at all. I'm always in and out, not a browser though. She just has bad separation anxiety so if I tied her up and walked in she would bark nonstop and cry. Anyway, I am thankful to have them and they are soooooo much better than the store that was there before. That place was very questionable. Also, I love that they share the lot with so many smaller vendors and trucks. It really does make for a good morning coffee and night meal. read more

What did I just walk into? It's like Target mini. It's almost as if Daiso and Target had a baby. I stopped here by chance because I wanted to try the food trucks out in their parking (Meh). I was trying to find some water and found myself next to a dude talking to himself while looking at me, which just confused me and wondered what that was about. The store itself feels dense because it's small and has a lot. It really feels like they tried to stuff a normal sized Target with all it's products into this smaller location.
