This past Sunday, I went to Target to return some items. It was supposed to be quick and easy. I had 3 items to return: 2 lactation snacks and 1 baby outfit. I walked into Target and there wasn't anyone at the returns desk. A customer informed me that the employee helping her would be back soon. I waited until he helped her and then I approached the returns desk. Right away, I could tell this employee was in a hurry. He was abrupt and rude. I told him I wanted to return the lactation snacks bought. I informed him that I had forgotten the receipt. He then asked me to insert my credit card so he could look it up. While I was doing that, he went into the back and was gone for a few minutes. When he came back, he gave me the return receipt and took the items. I told him I had another item to return. He sorta snapped at me because he said why didn't I give him all of the returned items at once. I told him the 3rd item was a gift. I told him I had a gift receipt. I'm not sure if he heard me but he asked me for my driver's license. I got it out and he said, he could not do the return because I had an out-of-state license. I didn't quite understand why it mattered that I had an out-of-license when I was returning an item. He said he couldn't do the return. I walked out of Target all confused and upset. I came back a few minutes later with my husband because we both didn't understand this new return policy. We asked for the manager and Skylar, the employee who did my return, said he was the manager. We asked him to explain why I couldn't return the gift item. He said it because I didn't have a receipt and because I had an out-of-state license. I told him I had a receipt and he kept saying I didn't tell him that. I don't know what he heard. And he continued to argue with me at the counter. He took my receipt and did the return. It was so frustrating. He was so rude and made it seem like we were holding him up from something. Worst customer service ever!!!! What a nightmare! This target has the worst management I've ever seen. I could call every department on repeat for an hour and I bet no one would pick up. Whenever I come here, the management is beyond rude and treat their staff so poorly. The only employee who actually was helpful and nice was named Johnathan (I think). He was so friendly and approached me after wandering around for 30 minutes. It's actually shocking that this place so many workers, I don't know why anyone would want to work here. read more

This place is disgusting. How can a place with so many people working be so dirty? It's like there's so much going on, but nothing at the same time. The bathrooms are gross, and half the time something's out of order. Floors saturated in urine. It's like it's Black Friday everyday at this location. The only saving grace for this place is the fact that not only is there a Starbucks, but they're competent at their jobs. I've never had a bad drink from there. Pretty good Target up in Succasunna. More or less the same layout as other Targets only this one is XL. Every department is just one extra half acre larger. It was clean. My misgivings were with the food isles and the the stacks at this location. Many of the items that I stopped in for were ransacked or missing entirely. Even herbs, spices, produce and bakery were all mauled and in disarray. Empty displays and even baskets and cases they were totally cleaned OUT. Note: there was no Target staff anywhere to be found at this spot - except up front at the cashier. There were no store associates anyplace to be found to ask simple questions of. Fix that. Used to love this store, now it's disappointing. 10 items or less for ALL self check outs and 2 registers open. Sorry I don't want the 17 year old cashiers judging everything I'm buying. It would make sense to have 1/2 self checks as 10 or fewer and the rest as many items. If supermarkets can do it, you can too, Target. Pay Loss Prevention a little extra to keep eyes on self check if theft is what you're concerned about, because it's definitely not the speed of check out. Rude and lazy associates, constant walkie talkies going off... just invest in earpieces. Rockaway Target is a very solid store that is well stocked and well managed. They keep it clean here unlike some other local stores where it's like "Welcome To The Jungle." I found everything that I came here for except the elusive hair clipper set, but that's "Nobody's Fault But Mine." Who knew lockdown was gonna cause us guys to look like "Werewolves of London." Anyhow this is a pretty BIG Store and they do have an excellent selection of "Good Stuff." I also like how every cart gets cleaned and sanitized during this Covid-19 Pandemic. Now that's really "Lookin' Out For Me." We All know the deal by now about Target and Starbucks and there's no better way to shop than with Killer cup of joe in Your hand, it's like "Nothing Else Matters." Plus they have a Pizza Hut "Up In Here" so that's pretty cool too. Like You, I think I'm gonna come outta this experience better, stronger, and more knowledgeable than ever. I always try giving places the benefit of the doubt when i go into them. I work in the service industry and understand that it gets busy and workers can't be 50 places at once. HOWEVER i have walked into this target several times now and every time I am here without fail it looks like a literal tornado went through the clothing section of the store. Don't believe me? Don't worry i added some pictures just to display what i see pretty much every time im there. The store was extremely dead when we walked in with workers literally walking AROUND this mess so i really don't know what the excuse here would be. I hate complaining because i truly understand we are all human but with how consistently dirty and messy the clothing sections are every time im here at this point im over it and will just shop elsewhere. the ONLY reason im leaving two stars and not one is because i have never had a bad experience with the workers here, they are all very kind and willing to help when i need it but still no excuse for keeping this place the way that they do. read more

Its Target. I heart Target. Target makes me Happy. Go to Target LOL. I come here to get specifics or nothing at all. This location has a great adult womens clothing selection, plenty of parking, good carts, and my size. I have bought more pieces for work in from here in the last 6 months than ever before in Target. There grocery area is cool but i tend to not consider getting meats and produce from here but most other things yes. Do not get me started on the toiletries, lotions, toner, makeup brushes oh my ! The layout allows you to comfortable shop with your car, and the fitting room although messy are available. Did I mention theres a Starbucks inside.... Good Times. Curbside pickup with online ordering has been superb at this Target. They are practically walking out to my car as I pull up to the parking spots. Everything has been clean and contactless, and staff members are generally friendly. It is a very good experience and I highly recommend it. read more

Customer Service - rude supervisor named Arianna. She stood at self check out with nothing on her to indicate that she was a Target employee, let alone a manager. Not one single live person cashier station was open. I asked to speak to the Target manager , Adrianna then shared she was "covering" manager. I had to go to customer service desk to get checked out. The young man at the customer service desk was very professional and apologized for Adrianna. He was wearing usual Target garb that identified him as an employee. Prices are just ok, definitely not worth going to this store where items are not marked regarding price and customer service for check out is non existent. read more

Out of all of the Targets I have been to this one has always been by far the messiest one. However, right now they are going through renovations so hopefully it will be sorted out better than it was before. The clothes were consistently oh of order and all over the place. Items weren't stocked on the shelves and things just didn't seem organized. The employees seemed bothered if you asked them for help. Other than that it was your typical target with the same prices as usually. The clearance sections are always fun to rummage through and see what you can find for cheap. I have to say the Starbucks employees there are always super friendly and talkative. Although the wait is long sometimes it isn't bad. Will definitely check in after we visit the store once renovations are complete. read more

Target - go in for a couple of items, leave spending $100+. I really like Target. This location seems to be on the average side and was our go to T until we moved. If you go off peak, it's never busy. Yeah you get the occasional crackhead but you can't beat the ample parking. Visiting NJ from California, and went in search of a highly popular Target 20th anniversary red heart-shaped bag at this Target in Rockaway b/c the Target.com website showed this store had inventory. (And I've been to 12+ Target's in NJ by the time I visited this Rockaway, NJ, Target.) I couldn't the bag on the shelves, so I asked Guest Services for assistance. The staff told me TWO of the same bag was in stock. BUT after waiting for 15minutes, NO ONE could find this bag. Thus disappointed I left. Three days later, I'm back in California and saw on Target.com this same Rockaway store had at least one of these red heart-shaped bag IN STOCK & READY FOR PICKUP! But, as I was back in CA, obviously I could not purchase this bag and do in-person pick up. ONE STAR for the unhelpful Guest Service. (I would have half of a star, if it's allowed.) They should change their name to Guest DISservice. While they didn't know I had already been to 12+ Target's in NJ looking for this item and was visiting from 2500 miles away, there were at least 5 ppl on the floor (business was slow when I visited in the evening of Oct 9th), and they still couldn't even locate the item despite it showing to have two in stock. read more

This was the first Target I ever shopped at years ago and even worked here around 15 years ago. It wasn't too bad then but it's a lot nicer now. Staff was helpful when my partner was looking for makeup, in fact the woman stocking the shelves knew right were to find what we needed. Yay! I love Target. I think it has a better reputation/connotation than Wal-Mart, but that's not the only reason I like it. It's clean and their marketing strategy works - the inside of the store has a modern feel and is v. welcoming. This is a typical Target with all of the typical merchandise. There's always lots of parking and you can stop by here on your way to/from the mall. They revamped this place recently and gave it an entire grocery section, so you can get food here as well. read more

I've always liked Target, and I really like this particular location-it's huge, has everything I ever need, and is generally clean and well staffed...so I am not going to hammer their stars for my most recent trip...However... We were out Christmas shopping yesterday and that ultimately leads to a trip to the local Target. We didn't need a lot, but picked up a couple of gifts, a couple of household necessities, and a few food items...no biggie. Well this is the one time of year where I get frustrated with stores in general, but this particular Target as well. We walk up to check out and there are 5-6 lines open and all have 5-6 people waiting...and more and more people coming up to get in line. By the time a manager called for more cashiers, the lines were 8-10 people deep. I have no idea how the cashiers are trained or how long before they are put to work, but mine had problems with her scanner, then with the person ahead of me in line who was being a pain in the neck, then another problem with items not having tags. 6 people in the line to my right and 4 in the line to my left got through their lines in the time it took the woman in front of me to finish. I get it, people are crabby and cranky this time of year and I wouldn't want to work retail right now. This poor girl was doing her best, but she just didn't seem prepared to deal with a PITA customer or any of the problems she was having. Went in for the BOGO 50% off swimsuit sale and it was an absolute mess. Huge selection but nothing was organized there were suits and clothes all over the floor, the target was pretty empty nobody was working on cleaning up. All of the tops and bottoms were on different displays so none of the same style tops sizes were near each other. Everything was so mixed up and some of the suits looked like they had been stepped on they were so dirty. I'll order online or find another target. Didn't get to see the rest of the store because I left after being frustrated with not being able to find anything. read more
