Rockaway Townsquare is a decent-sized mall. It has your typical anchors (Lord & Taylor, Macy's, JCPenney, & Sears). The Lord & Taylor is nice, and has great staff, in my opinion it's the nicest department store of the 4. Macy's is also nice, it has a Muldoon's Restaurant, and a Macy's Backstage nestled in it. Selection there is good. JCPenney is your typical JCPenney, it has a salon and Sephora in it. The selection there is decent. Sears is the weakest department store of them all, it feels empty and quiet. No one really goes on it's second floor. The place has gotten smaller by leasing part of it's first floor to Raymour & Flanigan. I feel as if Sears is going to close this location in the near future.
The mall itself is pretty nice. It's updated, and has the trendy stores like Love Culture, Hot Topic, Abercrombie & Fitch, and more. The food court is decent. There's always a vacant place there. Picante Mexican Grill closed, Stewart's is taking it's place, and than Subway closed and now it lays vacant. There's an abundance of seating, and has basically any food place you can desire.
Women's and Men's variety in clothing are decent. For women there's White House|Black Market, New York & Company, Austin 5, and more. Men's Variety include Men's Warehouse, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express Men, & more. Variety for kids is lacking. I'll say why later, but variety include The Children's Place, Gymboree, & Jimmy Jazz.
Junior anchor stores include Modell's Sporting Goods, Raymour & Flanigan, H&M, and Forever 21.
New stores include Love Culture, Stewart's, Candyland, Sunnies Optical, and Sol Specs. Although new stores are opening there's still quite a few vacancies. The mall in the past had some really good stores but through the years I think the mall's selection's gone dull.
There used to be a TON of kids stores like GapKids, Crazy 8, Abercrombie Kids, The Limited Too, In The Spotlight Dancewear, The Disney Store, Discovery Channel Store, LEGO Store, and more. But they all have closed since 2005.
Other stores that have closed in the last 12 years include Aerosoles, Arden B., Bebe, Cache, Cohen's Fashion Optical, Deb, Easy Spirit, EB Games, Fossil, Friendly's Restaurant, Gap, Hallmark, Kipling, Lady Foot Locker, Le Gourmet Chef, Mandee, McDonald's, Motherhood Maternity, Nine West, Perfumania, RadioShack, SaladWorks, Saturday Matinee, Sharper Image, Stride Rite, Subway, The Body Shop, The Limited, Uniqlo, Wilsons Leather, & more. I know I listed a ton of stores but it's true.
Anyways Store coming soon are Spirit Halloween, and A Christmas to Remember.
There's a few strip malls around the perimeter of the mall which actually have very good selection. The first one includes Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, ULTA Beauty, Starbucks, Pier 1 Imports, PetSmart, AMC Theaters, and more. The second includes DSW, Kirkland's, Torrid, Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy, & more! The third one includes Olive Garden, Carter's, Verizon Wireless, Tiff's Burgers, Dunkin' Donuts, Remax (COMING SOON), and more. The fourth one includes Christmas Tree Shops, Michael's, & Buy Buy Baby. Other stand-alone places around the mall include PNC Bank, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hilton Garden Inn, & Toys R Us/Babies R Us.
Although the mall has seen better days, I appreciate it being very close by. It has the amazing Eleventh Hour Rescue shelter inside of Annie's Pooch Pops which I love. I would recommend this Mall for you! read more
