They need a slightly better auto section. A sign. Customer service that takes time to actually assist. Had to give up and walk out - struggled to locate one item for weeks or 10-15 minutes but did need a workout. Raced the aisles devoid of help or a sign for auto related items. Zero customer service. Zero signage for the auto related item I was looking for. Pricing 40% more than everyone else . Would have gotten but the exact item as shown inline was nowhere on the section of shelves. Product s Target is good for is more clothing, food to some extent, and misc home goods. It would have been nice if either of the two employees would have done more than point 20 aisles over and mumble. Neither time found. Also no sign for auto. Finally left - went instead to BJs and within minutes the nicest man stopped took time and explained exactly where I needed to find the item. Good selection. Top brand. Discounted price. So glad to be in a better staffed, more helpful store. Target seems to fill a niche for easy going shoppers that seemed happy. Not for me though. read more

This Target is fine. I've come here on a few occasions when I've been in the area, and their haircare/beauty sections overall seem to be lacking. I always have a hard time finding what I'm looking for. I have hit some sales here which has been nice, but then certain things will randomly be so expensive, even for Target, like their cleaning products. The service here is pretty non-existent. I had to walk half the store to ask someone about where to find bug spray on my last visit. The self-check out line is always the shortest so I opt for that. It's not very well stocked in certain areas, and more disorganized than other Targets I've been to. That said, it's the only Target in the immediate area, so you kind of have to just work with it. read more

So my wife and I have been active Target customers for years having visited several Targets all round the country. Hands down this location in Riverhead is one of the worst we have experienced. The store is constantly a mess, isles are not clean and the customer service is horrendous. I went to pick up an online order last week and the girl behind the counter looked like I was ruining her day by disturbing her. She rolled here eyes after I gave her my online bar code and she had to go in the back to pick up the items. Other experiences included the one last night where I was trying to find an item in the store and asked an associate in the department if they had it. The associate simply shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know." I don't blame the associates, rather it's a reflection on the management. Take the time to train your employees. Shadow them on a regular basis and give 1:1 feedback at least once a week. It is clear this is not done at this location. read more

Was at the Riverhead Target today. Wanted to install Target app to get a Circle deal but could not because I needed a higher version iOS. I went over to electronics. The bo my was taking care of someone else. Another boy passing by, Dale, was the nicest kid ever! Although he could not help me with my situation, he pointed to the other kid who was still serving the customers. He finally came over. Tokd me I would need a need anew phone. Saturday, 1/16/21 @ 12:30, we entered the store. When we walked into the store, there were no carts. When they were brought in, they weren't sanitized. As we were walking in, there was a customer ranting about Cuomo and Diblasio. He ended up in the electronics area. He was talking to three employees. We wanted to look at iPads, which we started to do. (The pictures are proof.) This customer was so loud, we walked away. We went back, we walked away again. This customer was still talking loudly. I do believe the three employees knew him. The employees never acknowledged us. This customer and the employees cost Target a sale of an ipad. In the food area they had a sign on an end cap, 4 for $5.00. So I took one off the shelf. When I paid for it, it was not $1.25 each, but $2.89. I was told that the item at that price was another item on the shelf. They do that to trick you into purchasing the item thinking it is the sale item. My wife was also hit by a cart two times an employee was pushing, no apology either time. A vendor pushing a pallet of milk said thank you to us for giving him the room to get down the aisle. The manager needs to train the employees on how to deal with rude people and to apologize to customers when it's deemed necessary. The positive is, there are plenty of parking spaces and other stores to shop in Riverhead. read more

This store is a mess. The shelves are half bare, there are rarely more than 2 cash registers open, they play strange music and there's a weird vibe here. You almost get the feeling that they're closing down. It's run down and crappy on the inside. Nothing like it was when they first opened. I don't enjoy shopping here anymore and honestly try to avoid it. read more

Today was a nightmare at Riverhead target! Long lines with only 4 registers open plus the self checkouts. We waited in line for maybe 10 minutes to only watch the people in front of us be treated like garbage! The cashier Vince literally threw their purchased items at them! Flinging the merchandise at the customer! These poor people were so nice and polite, didn't need bags as they bought a storage bin and put their stuff in that instead. I couldn't believe what I was watching happen. So now it's my turn & he was just as rude and careless & disgusting. There was a DEAD FLY on the conveyer belt and he took one of my items and began wiping the fly away with my box of hot pockets. Of course he didn't get rid of the dead fly in one swiping motion so he continued to squish it even more. I was disgusted. He even carelessly threw my own items into bags as he couldn't be bothered with his job. I don't care if I have to wait in a 20 minute line for another cashier but I would never go to Vince's line again! Target has really gone down hill and is becoming like the local Walmart in the area. I would call management but they don't seem to be on the ball either only offering a mediocre apology when a friend of mine had a complaint about a rude employee. Will be reaching out to higher ups. read more

I like this store a lot. It has a very good selection of foods, cosmetics, medical... could use some better kitchenware though, and more extensive. Had to go to Williams Sonoma to buy a small food processor because they were out of stock (not near a holiday). But the food selection is one of the departments I like best. They have a small fresh food isle, but a great selection. The steaks are tender and delicious and reasonably priced. Fresh ravioli also tasty and well priced. read more

Been here twice this week and both times items are advertised as being one price and wind up being another at checkout. First time it was a 2 dollar difference the second it was 15 dollars difference. If your employees can't mark items correctly I think it's time to rethink what business you're in. Just because the store has been remodeled doesn't mean it is any better than it was before. Never again, yet another customer lost forever. read more

I saw the ad on tv the day after Christmas toys would have a 50% off pricing.....not true. Not one toy or game. Disgraceful. Rode all the way to the Riverhead location to be greatly disappointed Target lost this customer and others. read more

I wasn't such a fan of target, because always that I used coupons for 20 items I spended around 45 minutes checking out, but yesterday I gave the store a last shot, and what an amazing surprise, this girl "Cass" was amazing, she knew all the rules with coupons, and the best was that she made an almost 100 items checkouts in only 15 minutes with coupons included! Fully recommended! What a great worker this young girl! I stay with target now! read more

Target needs to get over itself ! I have never dealt with such rude, arrogant management in a retail store. No store is perfect, but if something is wrong, make it right, don't try make your customer feel bad because they called you on something. This target has the same ongoing issue for years and seem to have no desire to improve it. PRODUCT ALWAYS MARKED INCORRECTLY OR NOT PRICED AT ALL and when you find a error at check out they do nothing to accommodate the customer ( not even really an accommodation to honor marked price- just common sense and decency) The associates here are horrible- (good luck if you need help) and don't even try to solve a problem. At their latest goof up in pricing, after bringing the receipt and erroneously marked items to customer service the associate acted firstly like i was putting her out somehow and then basically just stared at the sign when i brought her to the spot where items were and said that's not the right price. Yes...clearly, that is the point and you are supposed to honor the price marked when there are tons of that item merchandised there and marked that way, but rather than being bothered to fix the situation she expected me to just walk away so i said I would just return those items I'm not paying $15 each over what they are each priced. So she processed my return after I waited for her again to discuss who they should tell with another associate ( should have that convo when done with customer) and handed me a merch credit saying that is the only way I can get the money ($31) back though I put $85 of purch on my credit card just to also find out that credit cant be used online so now I have to come back to store in pandemic to use a merch credit issued because of THEIR MISTAKE! this stuff happens all too often here- no customer service training and no attention to properly pricing the store-sloppy management and training. read more

Staff members at the cash registers are always friendly, outgoing, cheerful, helpful, and courteous. Other retail chains could learn a lesson from this. Also, I love that Target has many vegan options in their grocery department. Prices are typically lower than in the local supermarket. Would love to see more vegan offerings (cheese, please?) but am grateful for what is available. read more

Bought an iPhone at Riverhead Target and was very pleased with the tech people who helped me! They were friendly and very knowledgeable and went above and beyond in helping me! On 11/21 I was helped by Karizzma and Jeff. On Friday 11/22/19 they further helped me with my new 11 pro and a couple of fit bit type watches and my iPad. Will also was helpful! I wanted to write a comment to the store/manager to compliment these tech people and Will suggested I fill out a card at customer service. They didn't have any comment card there and recommended that I go online to comment. This I tried to no avail! What a terrible, confusing website! Gave up after many tries to simply commend those young tech people on their knowledge and helpfulness! Hopefully someone in management will see this review and also get someone to fix the Target website so customers can more easily give compliments or suggest areas that need improving. read more

7/16/18 Target used to be a great place to shop. The prices used to be very competitive, not anymore. Too expensive for the quality. They changed the layout of the clothing & accessories departments and they are a disaster. This location is always a mess, and very unorganized. There are some handbags in the handbag section, then some in parts of the clothing section & then more back in the luggage section. Horrible when you are looking for something specific and don't have the time or desire to walk through every inch of the store like a scavenger hunt! You can never get a cart inside, you would think I would hire someone to bring carts in once in awhile. And the children's clothes...hideous. That "Art School" label is awful. Really ugly & the fit is bizarre. Nothing good for young teens that do not fit in the junior clothing, everything is geared very young. And the cartwheel app is a pain to use. You can't get any wifi connection in most of the store so you can't even use it! It's a pain in the neck to have to scan all my own items anyway, just put the stuff on sale for everyone and stop wasting everyone's time read more

Home away from home for me. If I don't go to Target every week, I expect a phone call asking if I'm ok (that's how much I shop there). Staff has always been polite, courteous and helpful. In fact, my experience is that they've gone above and beyond. I even use the pharmacy there, because I like this store so much. It's always very clean, always a nice selection of clearance items. I do miss the clearance handbags, though. They seem to move them immediately to on-line purchase, rather than sell them out in store The only other store like this in town here is Walmart....and they can't compare. Target's registers are always staffed, and if the lines are long is a busy season, members are called to assist. I even have one particular cashier that I will only go to if he's there because he is just so NICE. For those who did have a bad experience in this store (and I've read your reviews), maybe it wasn't the store or the staff. Maybe it was out of their control, or maybe it was just a bad day for you. read more

This Target is pretty well stocked and the check out lines move fairly swiftly. Prices are alright on stock, food prices are good. Food selection is surprisingly good! I like this store, they're pretty good. read more

Worst Target ever. We will never shop here again. Online price did not reflect the price in store even though the item found on the internet was "in stores only" and recommend I drive an hour to find the product. I visited this location yesterday for the first time. I walked in with a return and was greeted by a very nice young man at customer service. As I walked the store there were associates in every department straightening up, busy at work and helping every guest that has a question. I am not much of a shopper so I wanted to get in and out as fast as possible. That being said I went to put a large bench back in its place so I put my purse down on a shelf (wide open with a nice amount of money sticking out) down and accidentally walked away from it. I noticed this mistake a few minutes later and had a heart attack. I approached a worker and he quickly asked if my name was alison and told me my bag is safe at customer service. His name was Andrew and I later learned he is the store manager. I collected my bag from customer service still shaking. I am so grateful for this amazing team. I am also a retail store manager and I could not be more impressed with this Andrew and his whole staff. Thank you so very much. read more
