This is my favorite Target in the area! I live in Modesto, but gladly make weekly or biweekly trips to the Riverbank area to shop here. They always have great stuff and good deals and all of their employees are very friendly. I always spend too much money because I love the selection and variety of foods they carry. While I was walking through the infant department, I noticed an employee with the name Cinthia whom was being very rude to customers and had a strong attitude when responding. I love going to target, but do not appreciate when I witness workers being rude to people who genuinely need help. GO TO THE STARBUCKS INSIDE!! Jolene the barista is a master at creating new and refreshing drinks! I just had her blueberry vanilla bean mocha and it was amazing!!! At first I was like uhhhh Idk about this concoction but then after trying it I'm so glad I did! God bless this woman and give her the promotion she obviously deserves as someone who loves her job so much! She also makes the stander drinks perfect. If you enjoy being treated like a potential thief and having your personal space constantly fucking violated by target employees by all means shop at the riverbank location . Staff are rude and and in your face at the self check out line. Cant stand that store. Another great shopping experience. I looked online and was searching for a floor lamp which indicated on the Target website that there were two in stock. During my search, I found that two of those lamps were on display and not readily available for sale. Thanks to Tawney and her manager, I was able to obtain the display model at a discount since it was a display model. Both Tawney and her manager went above and beyond to make me a happy Target customer. Plus her manager explained the situation to the cashier who was very pleasant as well so the transaction was completed to my complete satisfaction. Thanks Target for hiring a great staff. read more

I was in need of a particular gift for a dear friend for Christmas. The Target store in Riverbank CA. had some left on stock and were going fast. I arrived at the store and could not locate the item although the store computer said they still had a few in stock. The store manager Julia Rolf got involved and helped me locate the item. I am so gracious for her to take the time out to help me find it. It really was a Christmas blessing. She was so kind and patient with me on what was a very busy day in the store. I applaud her professionalism and store knowledge in locating the item for me. She was very pleasant and friendly to deal with. I wish more manager at Target were like her. This Target location is basically an overglorified Walmart with THE worst customer service of all of them. The management wouldn't know their asses from a hole in the ground, and it shows in how they train and handle their employees. Nobody seems to know what products they carry, whether they're in stock, or how to set up and face an aisle. Their pharmacy is awful, and you're better off driving into town or to the ACTUAL CVS pharmacy two blocks over. Don't bother trying to call anything in, or trying to get ahold of management, because nobody there has any phone etiquette skills or training with the phones themselves. You'll invariably get transferred to the wrong extension or accidentally hung up on. The usual clientele is your standard People of Walmart fair, and I can't wait for this location to be ground zero for some sort of e-Coli or botulism outbreak, seeing how dirty and old their produce section is and how frequently it's handled by unwashed hands. read more

Definitely not the worst Target but it's not the best either. For every great employee there is one that looks like they hate you, with a "why are you bothering me" look on their face. Store could use a make over if you have ever been to a nicer location (San Ramon) but this is what we got, hopefully management can hire more people who care about customer service, clean up and straiten things up better. read more

Multiple people walking around without masks and not one staff member said anything to them to ask to put on a mask. Regardless of your opinion on wearing a mask or not, have some compassion for others. What's the point of the mask required signs Target and your employee stationed at the front door if you're not enforcing this for the safety of other customers? Bad review has nothing to do with Covid. Customer service is horrible. It comes from the top because manager Frank and Julia. An hour before I went in my friend went and priced check some items. He was told he could do up to ten. I even have the receipt. Hour later I went in and they told me I couldn't. It's happened before so I called corporate. They lied and said I was buying in bulk which wasn't true. And the person that claimed it I never spoke to. Julie. So I went and found Julie. Stutterer on her words she didn't know what to say. I asked her why she was lying that she spoke with me and she started changing the subject. If you claim to not be doing it don't do it for anyone. That's the 4th time my buddy has bought and price checked and I've been told no 4 times. Discrimination. Clearly the reviews show how horrible the customer service here is. Hopefully these employees are seasonal because I haven't seen worse anywhere I have gone. I will never shop at target again. read more

What a waste of space. 16 check-out counters and they only ever use 4 at the most. In addition, they have another 4 "express" check-outs that one of the staff told me they "never use." Good to know when you're standing in one of their typically LONG lines with one item. Sometimes we all take our JOBS for granted and most of the staff here do!!!!! I guess being on their Walkie Talkies are more important then helping the customer in front of them I was their early on a friday morning with my family I tried to ask a question and i swear three people on Walkie Talkies where walking around in the same space i was talking to god knows who i thought to myself who is more important here the customer or responding back to another employee i was just out right ignored once i found some else to help me she walked away before i could even finish what i had to say very bad customer service and after being in the business of customer service for 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area I really know how very important it is to make a person feel like they have really been helped when they are tring to spend their money and not just blown off I guess the central valley will always lack in service. The only reason I'm doing a 3 star is their on line service sucks!! I live about 35 miles from Riverbank and prefer to or der on line (If you can get on). Tried to order some things for Christmas for my husband and after sitting on hold 20 minutes because their web page wouldn't let me in I actualley reached a person. I told him about my situation and he began telling me things to try I already tried over and over. I told him hold on and let me get my husband I don't understand. When my husband came to the phone we were put on hold again... Now I need to drive down to the store (35 miles) to order my Christmas presents. No wonder their computer systems were hacked!!! read more

Target nightmare in Riverbank. Pharmacist was on a lunch break, so I was told I'd have to wait 30 minutes to even determine if they had medication. And, "No!" No one would call him. Information was not as damning as the "I could care less" attitude of the pharmacy assistant at the counter. DON'T use online ordering to pick up at the store! I went to pick up my order. Waited about 10 minutes while the employee was looking for my items, then they said "It's here we just cant find it." Tried to give me gift cards, however that does me no good if I have to purchase it elsewhere. I'd have to pay shipping to have it delivered to my house. Grrr! First experience with this, and it was a fail! They eventually made it right, I must say that. Was not worth the frustration and now waiting 5 MORE days for delivery. read more

I would give them 0 starts if I could. They have the worse customer service ever. They always refuse to help. The icing on the cake was when I needed to exchange a box of dippers to a bigger size i didn't have the receipt and they where being so difficult. I was told they can offer me store credit of 14 cents. FOR A BOX OF DIPPERS. 2 employees including one named Pac said their was nothing they can do. Order pickup system is an absolute joke. I placed a order at 4:30am because it shows 1 remaining and call to check on status at 8:30am because I live 2hrs away from store. I am told the item is in stock right not but sorry it will be out of stock by the time we pick your order. So basically even though I already paid for the item, someone can walk into the store and basically cut in line and buy the item and then I am out of luck. What's the point of having a order pick up system ? I have been shopping at target for over 20yrs but will no longer be a customer. I purchased a bike for my son and when I got it home it was defective. I dreaded taking it back the same day but my son was devastated. When I got to Target they were very helpful at customer service. They called the back of the store and told me they would page me when the replacement bike was brought to the front. They even gave me $5 off bc I waited for 10 minutes. Very cool read more

This used to be the nicest target in our area out of the 3 we have. Honestly, it is now the worst. The shelves are always empty, the bathrooms are trashed (I've changed my daughter in a SHOPPING CART over using their bathroom) and when things are in stock, the employees are blocking most of the aisles because they day stock here. I know that sounds snarky, as they are just doing their job... but I'm not even kidding - I'm in and out of this target 2-3x a week, and the aisles are perpetually blocked with huge pallets of merchandise. It's to the point where you can't even get to what you need, because there's always something blocking it. I find myself frequently apologizing to the staff for being in THEIR way, while they are unboxing items. This store should be completely avoided during seasonal changes because of this. I'm talking main walkways just BLOCKED with pallets of items, 5ft tall. Completely un-maneuverable with a shopping cart. There are also specific items I am shopping for that are never on the shelves, but show in stock on the website. Not sure how I manage to never find them on the shelves when I'm there as frequently as I am. Regarding the previous comments about the employees, I have had some great customer service at this target. Everyone who works the registers are extremely friendly and pleasant. No complaints there. However. The zone employees are frequently standing around playing on their phones, and I've over heard some personal conversations that should not be allowed at work. If I have a question (with out attitude) about an item in stock that isn't on a shelf, or an electronic device/video game behind a lock, I shouldn't receive an eye roll and exhausted exhale, when I interrupt your hang out/personal conversation, when asking you to help. read more

PRICES ARE EXCELLENT even for moderate to high quality items. This store is new and the emplyees are above average for other stores of this type. GREAT SECTION ON BLUE RAY AND HDTV. My only negative is that things can hard to find. There are good places to eat close by so combine a shopping with a meal out and your spouse or friend will appreciate you kindness and find a way to repay you!! read more

Worst experience doing drive up something told me to check my bag before leaving the drive up as I had a sick child I couldn't get off so I called about 15 times till I decided to just drive back home to Modesto I when I finally got to someone they told me I would have no choice but to get off my car and ask for a refund or even and exchange mind you my son has a weak stomach and nothing could be done for their mistake I'll never be going back to target they are so inconsiderate it was their mistake read more

This target is amazing! It has everything you need guaranteed. Target has very nice employees too. Target restocks quickly, and the store is very clean. Not items on the floor in isles, the items you purchase are in it's place. The store has lines that are short so it's makes it easier if you're in a rush and can't wait any longer. Target has prices that are cheap and expensive, but those prices meet up very well with the item. The self checkouts make it easier to purchase any item. The self checkouts can be a pain though. Click, click, oh! There is an unexpected item in bag! The normal checkpoints are better, scan, scan, cha ching! Then you're on your way. I highly suggest this target. read more

Target has been a favorite store of mine for years. But now I just don't like them as much. I sirens alot money in there, like lots of people. On October 4th I placed on order online and had it delivered to my post office. I received an email I October 15th my desk was delivered. Well it wasn't, I called and explained. I was told they'd send it out again. Well it's Dec and it's still not here. I've called several times and spoken to people in-store. I've been told their second level and backend teams are working on it. I've been given no other information other than it should be resolved soon. So be careful if you order from target.com and if you do have it delivered to the store. read more
