Also, there's an employee named Brittney, she might be a team lead or something since she always seems to be helping several different areas at once. She's AMAZING! She didn't tell me her last name, but she's cheerful, very kind and empathetic, and her hair has a touch of pink in it. I know I'm going to have a great customer service experience if she's working! They also have pretty good prices on most items, but they really need to hire a better purchasing agent for the fashion department! Went to target to get a few things I needed using WIC. First they have no tags showing what items are covered by WIC, second every employee I asked said "I don't know" and didn't care to help me figure it out. Third they won't allow you to purchase all your 9 cans of baby formula when they have no tag or sign saying there is a limit on quantity. Lastly when items are scanned and not covered the employee says they don't know what isn't covered. It's just very frustrating and unprofessional to not want to help customers. This store... 1. Cart control is an issue. They need to put locks on them so customers cannot drive and leave them in the community. I've seen other cities fine Target for not doing this. It's scary to see carts in the water, in the streets and everywhere but at the store. It reflects in the property value and upkeep. 2. Store upkeep is an issue. The floors are always dirty. The shelves are not stocked appropriately. Supplies are limited. I'm thinking it's because this location serves many of the smaller towns around Riverbank. 3. Staff is a hit or miss. Some completely ignore you while talking to friends. Others are friendly. This location is hands down better than the other two in the area, but it's still one step away from Walmart level. read more

I purchased Play Doh. The price listed on the aisle was $2.49. When I got to the register I was charged $2.99. I showed the cashier this picture so she adjusted the price for me. No effort was made to correct this error on a store/chain wide level. I think stores should be required to correct pricing errors store/chain wide immediately. I live close to this store, which makes it convenient. I have never had and issue at any targets I have been to from Stockton, Pleasanton . manteca and other Modesto location. Lately I have been having unpleasant experiences at the check out with the staff. The check out girls I have had lately have been almost mean. One scan d one item twice. She was annoyed that I handed her something I was not going to buy. Today I had another rude girl. I told her my credit card declined every time I enter phone number. She begins to reply by saying I have to see it to believe it cause it works for everyone. She did not even stop to consider the possibility that maybe my phone number is not linked with card or something before being condescending. I do like this Target. It's got pretty much everything you need. The grocery area does the trick for a small grocery run but it's not a full scale grocery store. I've seen bigger in different Targets. The location of the store is good. Other choices to shop in the center close by. I want to give a huge shoutout to Heidy for helping me yesterday. I gave a friend a $50 gift card for her baby shower. She called letting me know that there was no balance on the gift card. So embarrassing! I told her I would take care of it. I rushed over to Riverbank (keep in mind, I bought this gift card at another Modesto location). The first associate was unable to proceed and needed managerial assistance. This is when Heidy came over to help out! Even in the midst of the early holiday rush, she was kind and courteous. She called the gift card phone line and explained the situation. Although the issue isn't still resolved (the gift card specialist needs to review my "case"), Heidy was so understanding of my concern and did her best to help, while also helping out her staff. read more

The person who checked me out was in such a hurry, there wasn't many people behind me. she handed me my change on top of the receipt and bills and made it seem like it was my fault that my change dropped and she told me to just put it in the bag, the bag she sat on the edge of the counter behind the card reader which also fell because that's not a spot where it goes. and didn't let me grab my things before processing the next transaction. i drove out here for the one thing i wanted that wound up being out of stock and was met with terrible service. read more

The order was 1 hour late but the real problem is that all our items smelled like cigarette smoke. This is not the best Target. I've had $500 stolen right out of my wallet about eight years ago. (DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PURSE OR WALLET UNATTENDED)! It took me awhile to be able to return. Yesterday, while shopping, someone was being escorted out by four policemen. Scary! The bathrooms are a mess! Trash all over tge floor, toilets dirty and stained, sinks have black stains, and smelly. However, it's target. You can shop for cute clothes or your bathroom essentials. You can get toys or you can get toilet paper. They have holiday items and they have shoes. You come in for one thing and leave with 20 more. The customer service is good. They chat you up while they scan your items. They bag your things with care. And yes I say it fancy as in ' Targét' I'm literally here every others day (pathetic I know lol) and have only been disappointed in one thing and it's just the time it takes to be In line and checking out. Really wish they used more of their fast check out lines but other than that it's good. I'm a coupon person and with targets cartwheel app and their deals throughout the store for texting in a code it does come in handy. Plus using my red card for the 5% off and then crediting that to nearby schools helps. I strongly suggest checking out the cartwheel app because you never know when there is an awesome deal to be had. Best time for shopping? Early morning or right before 3. Other than that.. Oh, I can't go more than a few days without Target. I planned to stop here for a soda since I didn't really see a convenience store I trusted. It's a perfect location between Modesto and Riverbank, across from Salida. The soda machine was in the Starbucks area. It looked as though no one had cleaned it for hours. Still, I was concerned about what was coming out of the machine, not so much what was on the counter. The rest of the store seemed okay, but less great than I had hoped. I'm becoming accustomed to a lesser Target these days. However, I shop it for groceries mostly, and they have good Market Pantry and (often great) Archer Farms brand products. We have driven over an hour to get to this Target for 5 years. In the past year it has gone completely down hill. It's so disappointing and just a mess. Target carries nice stuff! The clothing is just in piles everywhere on the floor. Everything is so unorganized and it's literally dirtier than any Walmart around. So the Target in Riverbank is the best Target in the Modesto area, however Sunday May 17 they failed in a great and insulting way. My 13 yr. old son saw a tank he wanted to try on. He was told he could not because the dressing rooms were closed. So we went off to the side and began to try it on only to be told he could not in the store and quote, "Now they would have to quarantine the tank." Are you saying my son has Corona, are you a doctor with knowledge of my sons health history. We were told we could buy it and maybe return it. Let's think this through...if we return it you would still have to quarantine the tank. Her excuse was this was policy. Is it your policy to insult your guests because you don't know how to speak professionally. You can explain the policy without making it sound like someone released germs on a shirt. I've been putting off getting my sister a phone. She's in a convalescent hospital and I needed to search for a very simple phone. She is very phone challenged, so I went to target and I decided on a flip phone with minutes! I am a senior citizen and not that savvy myself. The staff in the phone department is so knowledgeable there is no messing around they get the job done. The guy name Cal knows his job inside and out. This guy is efficient and his helper Zachita are a very good team! They did everything for me they put the batteries in. They set it up they put the minutes in. They programmed my number so all she has to do is push seven and it calls me they were like a dream team! While I was there, I saw several other senior citizens come in, he took care of their needs perfectly. He makes you feel secure when buying a new phone he will set it up. Tell you how to work it you'll leave they're confident I recommend target for their phones, electronic department. Satisfied customer, senior citizen! This store deserves a zero! I did an online order today to be picked up at the store. I received a text that my order was ready for pick up. I changed the order to drive through. I arrived at the store and input my parking number. I proceeded to wait 20 minutes and nothing.... no order. I got out of my car to talk to the people at the drive through. They really didn't care about me. Someone that ran orders out to the station asked if he could help me. I gave him my order information and said I had been waiting 20 minutes. He went inside to find my order. The next thing I know they said my order was not pulled. I asked how I could get a notice that my order was ready to be picked up. No response. Someone else came out and I explained my frustration. She said the bag was lost and they didn't tell me. They were pulling the items again. I asked how much longer and they said 5 minutes. I told her this was frustrating and I had another appointment. Her response to me was snarky and rude. She said well I can't make things appear. Really..... how about sorry. After 10 minutes, mind you I was now standing there this entire time waiting, they told me the color I wanted was not in stock. I told him I was already late for my next appointment and they should refund me. I never received an apology; they truly didn't care. This was a waste of 45 minutes for me with a lot of frustration. I tried calling the store to talk to customer service. Every time I hit the button for customer service I was disconnected. I called back and hit the button for HR because now I wanted to speak to the manager. The phone just rang and no one answered. Things must be pretty good for this store since they have no problem treating customers like crap. read more

This is my favorite Target in the area! I live in Modesto, but gladly make weekly or biweekly trips to the Riverbank area to shop here. They always have great stuff and good deals and all of their employees are very friendly. I always spend too much money because I love the selection and variety of foods they carry. Also, I LOVE the simply balances frozen halibut they sell. However, it seems they're out of it a lot lately. Wish they would keep it in stock for me! read more
