I really love a good Target and this was one. This experience was pretty good while out of town. Parking was abundant and lot clean. All I needed was to pick up a few things including a shirt I found everything neat. However there was no staff interaction. Less staff on the floor is something I see more often. Checkout was good at the register with little wait. Payment was processed with no issue. Unfortunately I see a downturn of the chain overall. Ill be honest, implementing card only at self checkout is ridiculous!! They typically only have 1-2 assisted checkout lanes open with line running to the middle of the store. Very frustrating having to wait behind 11 people just for two items because im paying with cash :( read more

I've been to this location a few times, and every time I have the same experience. The store is always a mess (inside and outside). The parking lot was horrible when I last visited. I can never find the sizes I need (pampers, toddler clothing, women clothing). The service I've had is good, so that's a plus. The prices are just like any other target. read more

Definitely the dirtiest Target we've ever been to. Trash everywhere upon entering the building. Restrooms were very nasty and obviously not taken care of on a routine basis. You could tell the lack of care to keep their business up to Targets known for cleanliness level has plummeted. read more

Everyone loves Target but this location is really a nightmare. The lines here are utterly insane, all year round. Unfortunately, the customer service is very spotty here as well. Sometimes good, sometimes not and even when it is good in terms of friendliness it's not good in terms of knowledge of Target policies or how to handle things. The store is often messy as well. I like this Target in that it never seems to be quite as busy as the Willow Lawn location. I can also typically find a close parking spot. And it's a straight drive down 64 East from downtown, which is also convenient. I haven't visited Target quite as much since signing up for Amazon Prime (sorry) but this store is a-okay. The first time I visited was for a special cat scratcher house the brand was advertising. The Internet claimed they had it in stock. They did not have it in stock. It was kind of a bummer. The associate who helped me told me that their website isn't always reliable about keeping their stock updated, so that's good to know I guess. If I feel like purchasing household and food items in person, I might stop here. But I also might stop at the Publix in the same shopping center, because it's really darn nice. read more

This is a large location. The store is part of a big shopping plaza. Plenty of parking available. There are lots of restaurants as well. Nicely set up as far as space within the store. Large aisles. Most Targets carry pretty much the same products and this one was no exception. read more

Please turn the heat down!! It is entirely too warm inside the Target located at White Oak. This lends to a miserable shopping experience. I feel rushed to hurry and get out of the store due to the uncomfortable temperature. read more

I visit this target often but this day was for a school event with my young lady. JRMS and Target teamed up to host a Math night for 6th - 8th grade students. I thought this was really cool because it gave the kids the opportunity to develop their math skills as they relate to real world shopping. Each grade level had a different task. The 6th graders had to shop for groceries for a family of 4. They were giving a budget of $200 for 3 meals a day for 7 days. The kids even were able to use special discounts on select products. Overall, I think this was a great experience for my daughter. I wish they had a larger selection of grocery items like other targets (maybe some fresh fruits and vegetables). I will say that the shelves were stocked and the prices were clearly marked so the kids didn't have to search for them. I want to thank Target and the JRMS staff for giving my daughter this experience. It makes her look at grocery shopping in a new light now. read more

First i should state that i am an avid Target lover. I'll go there when i need something and even when i don't. The Target locations in Richmond all have their own character and benefits. Like so many other businesses - Targets are getting as common as Walmarts, which is a good thing, because I get tired of the same ole places. However, this same ole place is now meeting all the typical requirements instead of standing out the way it use to! These stores, regardless of location, typically have the same product, the same layout and the same prices no matter where you are! This is a plus - because instead of wasting your valuable time looking for something - it's going to be pretty much in the same place as it is where you shop! However, I've never been happy with the speed of service at any location and this one didn't let me down - service sucked! I don't understand why it takes so long to check out AND why there were no self checkouts. Pretty bad when I can ring myself out faster then the trained clerk! Though I believe the quality of the merchandise IS better then the next giant so for that - it gets 4 stars! Improve your service and this place would be a 5 star for sure! read more

Everyone loves Tar-jay and this is my local store, just a mile from my house in Church Hill. It's nice and new still, and well-organized, and unlike the older Targets in town, won't have to go through those god-awful renovations. It has its own Starbucks coffee shop in the front, which really comes in handy when my power goes out (which is several times during every winter). I can't live without my morning mud so I hop in the car and get several to-go cups to drink while shivering in front of my fireplace. I've started buying more groceries here, especially staples like half and half, coffee of course (they're $2 a pound cheaper on Starbucks than anywhere else) and paper goods. Oddly though, beer is more expensive here than in the grocery store. read more

This particular target (White Oak) wants you to self checkout whether its 1 item or 200. As opposed to opening lanes, they have easily 5-7 people watching you check out. Its crazy. Then when you ask them to open a lane they look at you as though you have two heads. Fortunately, for Richmond, their are other Targets. Bell creek in Mechanicsville, Target on Brook Road is solid as well. They will actually ring your items up pleasantly. read more

As far as Target goes I can expect consistency. This Target was no exception. I was so thrilled to see the sign from the freeway as I left the airport! It is huge with a big parking lot. I live for Target, like I am here almost everyday, the employees know me. I love this location, everyone is very helpful when we come in. The store itself is always very organized and clean. My only gripe is when doing inventory the boxes and carts are everywhere to the point I can't go down certain aisles but this is a thing of all Targets, honestly. I continue to be disappointed with the cleanliness of this Target. It seems to me that no matter the time of day I stop in to shop, the front area looks terrible-pretty consistently. The carpeted area where the carts sit needs vacuuming, the LADIES ROOM is a wreck and the Starbucks area almost ALWAYS is in disarray and unclean. If there are cleanliness standards, it is hard to believe that this Target store has been meeting them. When I was there again last night it looked so bad I finally had to write someone. Stopped at Target today after surfing the Internet at work to look for a weedeater and hedge cutters. I am in no way shape or form and outdoorsey type, but my yard looks a hot mess so a single girls gotta do what she's gotta do. I went in, searched high and low only to find out from a salesgirl that they don't sell weed eaters in store, and that target online is a whole different store than in store... Really? Interesting... So... I ended up getting just hedge cutters... And surprise surprise.. Got the better deal.. I first reached for the brand name ones that were $19.99 since that's what they were in Lowes online. Then as I was about to throw it in the cart I saw one cheaper for $12.99. I can't remember anyone ever saying they needed a name brand hedge cutter so... Went with the cheaper one.. It worked great.. Couldn't be happier.. Now if my allergies would just calm down I can finish the other half of the bush in my yard. read more

I'm surprised it took this long for a big box store to come out to eastern Henrico; before this, I think that the closest one was the Walmart in Mechanicsville. Now, locally owned stores are great, but sometimes you just need to pick up some plastic hangers and some ice cube trays. Without Target out here, I don't know where I would get a lot of the staples. read more
