Long time Target shopper, first time visitor at Plainfield--and I wish I lived closer. Huge fan of this location! The entire store is clean, organized and well kept. I encountered multiple team members throughout the various departments, restocking and straightening displays. The care and attention to detail shows. The associate at the checkout was very outgoing and asked about my experience--love that. And don't even get me started on their Starbucks...immaculately clean, with the most excellent team. Both baristas were happy, engaged and fast! I tried the newest seasonal beverage, at their recommendation--iced toasted vanilla oatmilk shaken espresso--and it did not disappoint. Me and my wife recently stops here to check out a couple of items that we needed to get. The major things I do not like about this Target location is that locator to find certain items is inaccurate. It takes it to the wrong aisles and they lie about having certain items in stock. Prices here are okay depending on what you're looking for. The checkout lines are very long here. I haven't been in here since they finished the remodel. Place looks great and is bright and clean. As expected the Saturday before Christmas it was packed and people were just wandering thru the aisles. I find this annoying and usually do most of my shopping online. God, online shopping improvements, the biggest gift of the pandemic. Target is looking very high end now and they have some brands I haven't seen before. I attempted to return a defective kids table to the Plainfield Store #1403. I was denied because they said it was beyond the 90 day return policy. The managers I interacted with are Tom & Rita. Rita was more helpful than Tom but ultimately neither of them helped me out. They did give me a manufacturers phone number but it is not a working number. I felt that an exception should have been made on the premise of health & safety concerns. My 3 children were coloring on this table when it came crashing down on their legs. None of them were injured severely. They were just scared & slightly bruised. This table was purchased within 6 months from Target.com so it is still relatively new & should not have broken simply from them coloring on it. I do not feel that it is unreasonable to get my money back without having to jump through the hoops that I have had to jump through. read more

12-16- 2022  I received a phone alert via my target app that my order was ready, I knew I didn't  have an order pending so I called my husband immediately to see if he had purchased anything from target and he did not! so, in that very moment, I contacted Target to let them know what was happening when and while it was happening! and even when I was on the phone with Target's fraud department, the scanners were actively processing e-gift card in increments of $475. After spending over 90 minutes on the phone with Target's fraud dpt. they informed me that there was nothing they could do to stop the transactions and that I should contact my financial institution and dispute the charges. I did just that.  I also cancelled my Target card and requested that new cards be issued and I did this all while on the call with Target.   12-27-2022 Called Target again after receiving a letting in the mail stating that I was liable for all the stolen e-gift cards that was charged to my card and at this time the cards were now totaling $1,900 (4 e-gift each @ $475) Target then informed me that the reason why I received the letter was because I didn't file a formal complaint with them!  This is so confusing because while I was on the phone with Target fraud department on 12-16-2022 AT NO TIME was I told that I needed to filed a formal complaint! I stayed on the phone with Target and filed the formal complaint. 1-9-2023 Called Target to inquire about my card replacement   1-26-2023 After not hearing from Target since 1-9-2023 I decided to call to find out the status of my card replacement and from that call I was told that a letter was sent out in the mail informing me that Target found me liable for all charges! I stayed on the phone with the fraud department again for over 60 minutes and all they offered is to resubmit the case but stated that they "cannot guarantee the outcome"   Target dropped the ball on this! After providing them with all details and had them actively engaged while the scanners were committing this act and they did absolutely nothing to shut it down and continued to allow the card to be approve!!!   Having this Red card tied directly to my checking account opened me up to this level of fraud without providing me with any protection from Target and after all this...Target is now turning this into MY ISSUE! Everytime I go to this Target the item is out of stock. Today I needed cotton balls and one other item - just wanted to pop in and out quickly. Check app.. says 3 in stock. (I mean -- how do you come close to running out of cotton balls?) Go to store. Not is stock. This happens EVERYTIME I go to this location. Do yourself a favor... go down the street to Meijer... had at least 30 bags of cotton balls! Never had any issues on items being out of stock there. read more

Target would always be the best store for me, simply because I could get anything I needed either groceries, appliances, electronics, clothes, toys, books and other things that we may or may not need in a daily basis in one place. It is really convenient and the prices are amazing The store is always clean and well lit. Most of the items are also organized and well stocked. The items are always in a good condition with great quality. On my last visit in the store, I was lucky that the specific item I wanted was on sale and it was good as new until now. This is a ghost town! On any given day, I can peruse the home decor, cosmetics and clothing without a soul around. There are plenty of cashiers available, but I'm talking about customers! I enjoy the feeling of having the store to myself sometimes, but then I get paranoid. On Sunday afternoons I'll regularly think it's closing time. This Target does have limited groceries, but it isn't a Super Target, so I usually find myself at Wal-Mart or Meijer afterwards. There isn't a Starbucks inside, but there's one right across 127th Street anyway. Shopping is easy, and I had a great experience purchasing a piece of furniture here. Two employees helped us by finding the item and bringing it to the checkout on a flatbed cart. One guy helped my dad load it into the car, and when it didn't fit, he went the extra mile and took the table out of the box and removed the styrofoam pieces. It was a huge hassle for all of us, but the guy didn't seem bothered at all. Returns are a disaster. I had a great experience about 3 years ago while returning several duplicate gifts I received from a bridal shower. They accepted them back (as long as you have the receipt OR the item is on your registry, they'll take it back). The associate was friendly and didn't seem annoyed like most anyone at the customer service desk usually does. Any other time I have tried to return something, I leave this Target feeling insulted and angry. There's one woman who seems to never have a day off - if she isn't at the customer service desk, she's at the register - and she's never in a good mood. I've tried returning items when she is there, and she treats me like I am a panhandler or trying to pull off some great heist. Once, it was a $6 bottle of nail polish. Another time it was a $30 blender. I've never been argumentative or even the least bit defensive with her. But if something doesn't scan correctly, she basically tells you to fuck off and leave, rather than ask another associate for help. Whenever I do shop at this Target store, if I see her in a checkout lane, I avoid her. read more

I have had too many terrible experiences with this Target, I've finally had enough and feel the need to write this. Two days ago I visited the Naperville store and spent $200+ on Home items/ furniture/ decor. I received an email from Target the same day with a promotion saying spend $50 on Home items receive $10 off and spend $100 receive $25 off your purchase. I had expected this promotion to automatically be applied at checkout since even in the stores their were signs everywhere promoting the deal until 7/28/18. The discount wasn't automatically applied and I did not notice this until I was home. I was understanding about this so I returned to my closest Target to have them apply it and give me the discount, or so I thought. Nope. I was told so many excuses I could tell the woman at the return desk was lying through her teeth. I was told, "this promotion is only for online orders". Which I responded with, "why advertise in stores then and why does the add not say online exclusive"? The next excuse was, "okay, you can go back to the Naperville store then and they should discount your items but we can't do a Naperville store return at this store". Umm, since when can you not return something from one Target at another?? I explained how I really didn't want to drive 30+ mins to this other Target to do this return but was told that was the only option. So I ended up going to the Joliet Target only 15 mins away and guess what, they gave me the discount no questions asked! I explained the situation and was given zero excuses! I also asked about their return policies and the woman at the Plainfield location definitely lied to me, I was just able to now confirm it. I don't know if the woman at the plainfield store just didn't want to ask her manager and clarify or admit she was wrong, but it made my experience terrible and it's so unfortunate that instead of giving adequate customer service I was sent on a wild goose chase which wasted my time. I really hope this Target gets it together. read more

Probably the most amazing Target I've ever been to. The grocery area looks like Whole Foods! It's very clean, well organized and the produce looks great! All very fresh, with many organic and gluten-free options. Target has absolutely everything you could possibly need from cosmetics to clothes, sporting goods to home decor. My vacuum died the other day, so I came here to purchase a new one. I was astounded by the many options I had to choose from and the great prices. When we were checking out, the employees were so friendly and polite! "Hi, how are you, did you find everything ok, here are some of the specials we have going on, do you want to apply for a target card, thank you for coming in today..." It was just not the typical Target experience that I've had at other locations. I will most certainly be back! read more

Terrible experience at Target. Target Plainfield advertised the 3DS Mario edition for $99. My son and I waited in line 3 hours for them to open with only a dozen people in front of us to find out they only had the $200 edition. I believe that is illegal. I would not have minded if others I front of us got them and we simply did not. But advertising something they don't have and they don't honor is just wrong. I informed Manager Eric who said only thing he could do is give me Customer Support number 1-800-440-0680. They too could not care less. I did complain - # 18409025. Shame on you Target. This Target is okay. My biggest pet peeve is the checkout lanes. They have a ton of express check out AND self check out lanes but they are NEVER open. I have lived in this area for a year and I have seen ONE express lane open but NEVER the self check out. Thus, you always have to wait in a fairly long line, as they also have TONS of checkout lanes but only a select few are running at a time. I would run in to grab like 1 item and then spend 15 minutes just waiting in line to check out. They need to open the self check out, express check out, and normal check out lanes!!! read more

This Target is usually pretty empty as compared to others in the area. That can be good and bad in that they usually only have a couple registers open so if there is a rush you could be waiting. I usually don't have a problem. It's easy to navigate and you are in and out in a hurry if you want to be. read more

I had a horrible experience the last time I went. the security guards were following me Around the store making me feel uncomfortable to make any purchases. then I over heard two of the team members talking about me. totally unprofessional since the people talking were management. This is my favorite non-super target in my area. The aisles are usually really well kept and its never extremely packed. I don't know if that is bad or good, hopefully this location sticks around. There's not much to be said about Target that people aren't already accustomed too, so if you like Target, try out the Plainfield location. I love this store but I feel they discriminate against handicap. They do not offer motorized scooters for walking impaired people.

Like all the other reviews, this location is pretty emptied of customers, which is great for me and my baby because we get better selection of products and no waiting in line! It's always clean and bright - a pleasure to be there. They are revamping the aisles and adding a fresh produce section. Grand opening is expected to be June 22! read more

I love that we are paying $15 an hour to retail employees - driving up the prices for all of us so it's worthwhile for the "unskilled and uneducated" people have a "job"..., just got home from Target - hand my phone to the clerk to scan my cartwheel - so I could save some money from these rising prices to keep my clerk employed and get her off her parents couch for a few hours a day...., The scanner wouldn't scan the code with it laying flat on the counter and I get the response - " Ugh could you adjust the screen brightness on your phone so I can scan this?" LMAO..., I replied "What? No - I'm not making my phony setting adjustments - for a store transaction-" I tipped the phone up so the glare on it wasn't so bright and like magic....it scanned. Duh..... I think I see a bad future in store for this poor girl's parents and a permanent resident on their couch...... If this is what $15 an hour gets you - what does actual minimum wage get you? I suggest more self serve checkouts.... very scary. No wonder online ordering is closing down brick and mortar - although it does make for an amusing experience. read more

This review is for the Joliet store across from the Louis Mall. there were no $1 movies for Black friday. I looked everywhere. it was the first place we went is for the movies when we went in. we were made to go all the way around the store like cattle getting pushed and shoved instead of being able to spread out. they put the tvs right in our route back so we could all get trampled. people were bumped into me and my baby girl. employees kept directing us further and further back in a lined formed in the main isles and then wouldnt let us past to shop. finally after about 30 minutes they realized tht wasnt going to work and started shifting people up and down the isles. they could give out tickets like every other store to keep from getting trampled. All I wanted was movies and toys and I have to go through an area that has riots break out over electronics.. they need to plan out black friday better or not have it at all. maybe quit selling tvs real cheap and sells toys and clothes instead. read more

just spent two trips this afternoon at the CVS drugstore facility inside this Target...The two ladies who assist you at the drug counter are so nice and so helpful Pharmacist Uzma Achbar was over the top sweet and helpful with getting the prescription RIGHT and tailored to fit the needs of my wife...Not too sure if Pharmacist are attributed with bedside manners but if so then for lack of other description hers was excellent So kind and genuine in her assist with the medications The other lady as well though I do not have her name If you unfortunately find yourself in a situation where you need to get prescriptions filled out then you will not do better than this place with these two employees ready willing and able to give professional and courteous service All people in all walks of life should be as nice as these two were It was a very pleasant experience and now I know first hand why my wife goes here exclusively for her medications read more
