But it was time for an update. We requested a free in-home design consultation and Ashley Baron called to arrange our meeting. She arrived at our home and spent plenty of time speaking to us, taking photos and detailed measurements. Once she had a feel for our likes and dislikes, she left and set up a time to come to the Naperville store to review her ideas. She used some very cool VR tools to show on a big TV a virtual picture of our room. She added her initial ideas for the new items for us to view. Then she offered many alternative choices for us to view. We then went to the showroom and sat in several examples to see what was most comfortable for us. Ashley showed us several fabric samples, first her recommendations, then let us view all to see if we liked something different. We found for the most part we loved what Ashley had chosen. Ashley has a great eye for style and really understood what we were looking for in our update. She then added those fabrics to our virtual living room to show us exactly what it would look like. At no time did we feel any pressure or pointing us to or away from anything. It was an excellent experience. Ashley told us we were free to do this update in stages if we liked or add whatever we chose. And as I stated earlier, all this expertise was supplied at no charge. The quality of Walter E Smithe furniture is excellent. It has stood the test of time in our house with four growing sons and now four grandkids playing and wrestling over the years. It still looks great with no wear showing. WES is not cheap furniture. But in my opinion, you cannot beat the value. I'd much rather have excellent quality over some other "throwaway" furniture I've seen. We cannot thank Ashley Baron enough for all her help in choosing the items for our home. I've waited all day and the furniture wasn't delivered. I called the store mid-afternoon and was told it would still be delivered today but there was a mix up in the times. It's now almost 8pm and I doubt it's going to be delivered tonight. According to the website, the store is still open. I tried calling the store and even going there and the store is closed. I also tried sending an email through the website and the email function isn't working. I'm frustrated that I paid for merchandise I don't have and I have no way of contacting anyone to find out what is going on.

Thank you, Erin for being the ONLY good thing about Bob's furniture. I was really hoping Bob's furniture would be better than Ashley's but it looks like they all are going to fall short. If Bob's does anything right, it would be giving the ONE good thing they have a raise and allowing her to replace her managers. Erin assisted me with picking a bed and bedroom furniture set. Due to technical issues with the order site, she sought support from her store manager. Nice Guy, but he didn't listen to what I wanted and ordered the wrong items. This was after I spent 2 hours with Erin filling her in on my issues with Ashley Furniture and my desperate need for furniture ASAP. My items arrived (most of them) on time. I had my new bed which is great, but with the box spring the store manager ordered caused the bed sit so high that my 5'8" tall body had to jump up to get into the bed. I wanted the low profile box spring so that it was lower to the ground like a bed should be. What if this bed was for a kid or an elderly individual? You would need a chair lift to get into that bed. Next, my 5 piece bedroom set was delivered as a 4 piece. Little did I know, Mr. Store Manager ordered the wrong one. So, now my husband has no dresser for the foreseeable future. Because of course, now the piece is out of stock and on back order unlike last weekend when I worked with Erin, because she confirmed all of the items I wanted were in stock due to my need. I called Erin to get the issue resolved and she graciously reached out twice letting me know her manager on duty Jessica would be calling. She even called to tell me she was going to call in 5 minutes. Guess what?! I never received the call from Jessica. Thanks for the help, Jessica. Appreciate your attention to detail - it must be a manager thing in that store. So, I had to spend my day todaytalking to a text chat bots Wildeline and Mildred and a customer care agent Adyen for 2 hours to get the issue resolved. I am now getting the box spring I wanted and when the chest dresser becomes available (hopefully before 2027), my husband will finally have his dresser. They waived the delivery fee (as they should) and gave me a $100 off. So shout out to Adyen for spending over an hour on the phone and putting me on hold 5 times to get permission to do the right thing. Oh, I forgot to mention, that all this happened after I had already ordered a sectional couch and ottoman from them for $2000 and the ottoman broke after 2 days for NO REASON. So, call me a "Karen" if you want but if my attention to detail and listening skills were as piss poor as the management in the Joliet store or as dependable as the chatbots Wildeline and Mildred at resolving ANY TYPE OF ISSUE, I wouldn't have been able to pay over $6000 on furniture in 4 different deliveries due to 3 different mishaps caused by Bob's furniture for furniture that probably has the durability of what is left of my patience. The warehouse would not accept it because they told me I needed paperwork from the store to return it. It's been a back-and-forth issue. I'm a senior citizen and now my time has ran out and I'm stuck with something that I can't use nor do I want and they won't take it back and I've called all around and no one has properly accommodated me and they told me that I have to keep it when I wanna return something that I have no use for and have a credit back to my account. It's not been used still in the box so who wants this kind of treatment no one deserves it so definitely I wouldn't recommend it. No one should have to go through this and be stuck with something that they don't want and can't use.
