My biggest issue with Ashley was the lack of customer service. From purchasing the furniture I ordered and not including everything as discussed to the delivery guys not providing "white glove" service, it's not an experience I would like to repeat any time soon. First, I asked the salesman if the order I placed could include felt cushions for the legs of the couch due to the floor in my home being very sensitive and easily scratched. The salesman obliged, but when the delivery team showed up, they told me they had never heard of Ashley offering felt cushions for any furniture. Only after repeated calls to the Homestore did I finally get through to someone that told me the cushions are available but that I would have to pick them up myself. Mind you, I don't live close to the HomeStore. Then when the delivery guys were setting up the couch, I asked them to move it a few inches to one side of the room because the path behind the couch was too narrow, and they said they wouldn't move it once it was already placed on the ground. So much for "white glove" service. When customer services contacted me to check how the delivery went, I informed them of these issues, to which they said they would look into it and get back to me, but I have still have not been contacted by them since. One star for the quality of furniture and delivering furniture as scheduled. read more

This pick up location is miss managed!! Change the manager there. They don't have fixed lunch hrs and people waiting their hours. Plus Horrible customer service at pick up warehouse front desk. !! The only good thing there was the young hard working guy in warehouse when it comes to receiving the furniture. He should get a bonus. I was 2nd in the line. After waiting 1 hrs for our furniture, they told me I have to wait 1and half hour more, because they are on lunch. I ask what's their lunch hrs and I have been told they do lunch wherever they want. I ask for name of the person behind the counter or manager and the girl refuse to tell me her or manager name. Horrible!! I don't think I will ever buy here again. read more

I would never recommend this store location. We purchased a defective mattress purchased from your store, which has caused my daughter significant back pain. Despite my previous attempts to open a service claim, the customer support team has been "unable to locate the ticket", and I have yet to receive any meaningful assistance although I have the receipt. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this amicably, including calling the location directly. However, I am concerned by the lack of accountability, including "Cesar" (who claimed to be the general manager) refusal to provide a last name and the continual redirection to customer service without resolution. As a retailer, Ashley Furniture has a legal and ethical obligation to address product defects--especially those that impact a customer's health. Failing to take reasonable action to process a return or refund for a clearly defective item constitutes a breach of warranty or consumer protection laws under both state and federal statutes. We want a refund for the defective mattress they sold and for corporate to address and give "Cesar" proper customer service training. read more

I purchased a sofa a few months ago. The salesman told me that the fabric wouldn't pill and it was "pet proof." The sofa was over $2,500.00 The day they delivered it, I noticed that one of the cushions was almost hollowed out in the center. I called the next day and they told me that they were going to send me a replacement cushion, but that would be used toward my warranty, in other words if I have a problem in the future , the warranty won't cover because I already "used up my warranty" After at least six calls and them giving me the runaround, they sent me the cover but not the insert, that took at least another dozen calls. I finally received the insert last week which is 3 months later. I purchased a dining room table from them last year and I had issues with it. It had been severely scratched and the delivery guys said nothing to me. I had the exact same problem with them switching it out. They said they were going to send someone to "fix it" that meant sending someone with a marker to cover the deep scratches their delivery guys made. I had to argue to get the table replaced. I guess it's my fault for giving them another try, but I will never purchase anything from Ashley again. They don't care about the consumer. I purchased an adjustable bed in December 2024. When I picked up my bed I was given the wrong power cord. I had to FedEx the power cord back and requested they FedEx me the correct one. This process took a couple of weeks. I ask Jim Passantino the store manager to issue me reimbursement for the inconvenience and he stated that I would be approved for $250 and will receive a check in the mail. It is now April 4, 2025 and I still haven't heard what is going on with the check. He gives me the runaround on email back-and-forth. He's a liar and not a man of his word! Wow, I really should have looked at the ratings before I went to this warehouse to purchase a furniture set for my home. We scheduled a time to have the furniture delivered. We removed our old furniture as we scheduled a SuperBowl party for this weekend getting ready to show off our new goods. I received a text saying because of warehouse audit our delivery has been scheduled 2 weeks later. I called my salesman Xavier & his response was we can go with this new delivery date or you can cancel the order. No apologies no options pretty much just you! I couldn't even speak with the manager. Walk in and figure out what you want. The sales people are low pressure and they left me alone to sit on anything. The furniture is average quality, and will last you a few years. It won't be passed to the next generation, and it may feel lots of wear when you move, but for good basic furniture, it does the job and I am very happy read more

Me and my fiancé went in to look at couches the other day and the sales rep Brenda would not leave us alone, she started trying to show us tables and rugs too, we were there for over 2 hours and only looked at one couch. She over shared about other employees personal lives and her own, it made my fiancé and I VERY uncomfortable. And went as far to make inappropriate racial and somewhat homophobic remarks. We will not be coming back. She kept trying to get us to sign up for their credit card after already telling her no multiple times and went as far as to try to get me to fill out their application not saying what is it. TLDR: I was kicked out after making a purchase and they threatened to call the cops and prosecute me for trespassing. Do not visit this store under any circumstances. Went in to pick up something from the clearance section. I told the sales person, David, that I had to be out the door with the item in 10 minutes. He told me no problem that he would send someone to bring it to the pick up area right away. He didn't. 15 minutes later, and he hasn't even begun coordinating with the team that handles pickups. I decided that I would just grab the coffee table I purchased and bring it to my car myself. When I tried doing this, the manager physically blocked me from leaving with it and told me they could take up to 2hr to get it ready. I told him what the sales person said and that it was ridiculous that I couldn't take the thing I already paid for. He then kicked me out of the store and told me he would call the cops and have me arrested for trespassing if I didn't leave right now. In theory, this place should be a great experience, but it is not. I purchased a price of furniture small enough to fit in my sedan. The item weighed 40-50 pounds. I purchased the table and they told me to come back another day to pick it up. I insisted that it would not be too heavy for me to carry off the floor myself, but they would not let me. I came back Saturday afternoon to pick it up and I waited over 2 hours to have the warehouse get my table and carry it down. Its ridiculous. The amount of tolls and gas it took me to get here costed me more than the table. If you buy anything be prepared to wait at least 2 hours to get it from the warehouse. read more

Biggest disappointment in furniture after 3 major purchases over the last few years. The furniture quality is SOOO bad that your just wasting your money. I've bought a bedroom set, couch and recliner and they don't even last a year with normal use by a family of 4, with teenage kid's. The recliner cushion has flat spots after 9 months, and no one in my house weighs more than 160lbs. The couch is so bad that after a year you sink into it- springs shot already. I've tried to contact customer service and there is no number to call. Emails are unreturned. The store left me on hold for 30 minutes each time I've called. This review is based on their lack of customer service/ experience and passing the buck because no-one wants to help or admit we were sold a warranty under false pretense. I bought a couch in 2023, I'm not a furniture repair but it's possible the spring broke. I called our warranty carrier and they claim that springs or anything like that is considered manufactures defect and is not covered. WELL THATS AN EYE OPENER. That's why you buy warranties, to cover anything that might happen and let me add, when the saleperson told me about the warranty, he said coverage for 5 years. I asked for a warranty pamphet to look through and he said they didnt have anything but covers everything so I gave them an extra $199.00. We decided this can't be true, so we went to the store, spoke to store manager and right to my face, he says there is nothing they can do, its between us and the warranty people. No help whatsoever, no escalation team, nothing. Ashley is more then happy to push those warranties and take your money knowing they don't stand behind their product or customer. They kept saying there was nothing they could do, they couldn't or wouldn't offer any discount towards another purchase. I do not recommend this location. My husband and I went there and the customer service was non-existent. We are returning customers and as if I didn't learn the first time, I went back. Several representatives stared at us and did not speak. Not even a simple "hi, welcome to Ashley's." No one asked us if we needed help looking for anything or what brought us in today. Just stared us down. one lady even started so hard, I looked back and smiled, she turned her head and turned up her face as if she was "disgusted" by seeing black men shopping for furniture. Went in to look at mattresses and bedframes. We finally found one that we loved and decided to go ahead and place the order. We made sure the items were in stock before continuing with purchase as we know there are delays in production with furniture and wanted something that was readily available. . We were told both items (mattress & bedframe) were in stock and that we should receive our order within 2 weeks. The week of 'two weeks' came and we didn't hear anything about scheduling a delivery so I called to check on it. We were told our date was pushed out another week due to product not being in stock. Reached out to our sales rep and he advised our items were in stock and they had not yet made it to the warehouse but gave us a new date with a promise it would be delivered on or before. fast forward another week, we called to yet again check as no one reached out for delivery and it is pushed back another 2 weeks. We advised we were going to cancel and were told we'd have to pay a 10% cancellation fee. I have called multiple times and asked if I could speak with the manager at least in helping wave the delivery fee since our order is going to be delayed by 2 weeks if not more and no one would transfer me to one. Terrible customer service. I understand completely of delays and issues since the covid world, but I do feel as though our items were not in stock at the time of purchase and we were told that so they could make the sale. Also why are we the ones who have to constantly reach out to be advised our delivery is late? never have this at any other furniture store ive been to so be ware. I was just told today that it has been backordered the entire time. They have a ridiculous automated system that keeps scheduling a delivery date, despire the fact that the item isn't in. Came into the store on 7/1 to purchase a bedroom set for my son. Salesman said all items would be in on 7/14. Weeks go by after that date and Ashely is still waiting for pieces to be delivered into the store. 8/27 get a call from a strange number saying to call them back to schedule a pickup, as my furniture is in. I also received a text from their automated system saying it's there. On 8/29 I call the number back to arrange pickup, it just rings and rings with no answer. I try again about 5 more times.....nothing. I call the number to what I believe is the store( turns out you can get to a corporate office by pressing the number for order lookup) and a girl tells me my order isn't in yet. I hang up and try another option on the automated system and I finally get a person in the store. The girl on the other end( who was a huge b*itch) confirms my order is not there and won't be in until 9/5. I ask her if I can just cancel it and she says I have to call their customer call center. I call Ashley's customer call center who then tells me they can't do anything, I have to go through the store I bought it from. She apologizes and connects me back to the store I bought it. The phone rings and then hangs up. I call back 3 times, I get no answer. 4th time I call the girl answers and I tell her I need to cancel my order. This time rather than forwarding me to customer service she simply says " you have to come in to cancel your order, no one here has authority to cancel any order over the phone". I tell her I want to speak to a manager and I get hung up on. I call back and the same girl answers, I told her I was hung up on and I want to talk to the manager, she tells me the manager is too busy right now. She takes down my number and says the manager calls me back. Furious with the situation I start my 50 minute drive to Ashley, as I'm about 10 minutes away the manager calls( her name is rose, and she is literally the only thing positive about this store) and says I can have free delivery when it comes in, or switch it out for something in stock. I told her there is no way I'm buying anything from them and I want to cancel it. I told her the girl on the phone said I had to come in so that is what I'm doing. Rose tells me I could have canceled it over the phone! I go in anyway so I have proof it's cancelled and see the girl who was unpleasant on the phone. She's clearly new and knows nothing about anything. Ashley you need to get your sh*t together. Over 2 months have gone by and my son has no bedroom set. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are a joke. Off to Darwin I go 9/19/19 update. Just wanted to share an update with anyone reviewing this. As you can see here on yelp I was contacted by a member of Ashley furniture. I was asked for my information and was told my order was found in the system and would be forwarded on to a team that deals with these matters. Well after 9 days I have heard nothing. I have purchased many things in my home from Ashley Furniture and each time their furniture is more defective or has imperfections. Each time I purchase something upon delivery it has to be sent back for an exchange. I recently ordered a Full size bed for my son and of course the bed has imperfections and deep scratches on the headboard and footboard. 5 attempted exchanges later still have the same issue every time! I wouldn't even bother with this company. They did credit me $35! Towards my bed purchase for the inconvenience. WoW!! At this point I just told them to pick up their stuff. O yeah I forgot to mention one of the exchange's they tried giving me a USED bed frame. Pieces were removed from the headboard that weren't supposed to, the rails had deep grooves where the screws/bolts were placed. I'm not trying to be petty but when you purchase something you expect it to be new with no imperfections or scratches or anything for that matter. If I wanted something to be used or with damage already on it then id buy from OfferUp or at a garage sale. read more

As other customers have stated you would think with how much money you're spending on their furniture and how much they charge for delivery you'd think you'd get a seamless hassle free experience but it is the exact opposite. They will mess up your delivery and then you the customer who paid hundreds of dollars for delivery will have to go through the run around to make sure they deliver whatever it is they messed up. In our case they will be making 3 deliveries for a sectional and a chair and for what they charge it is absurd. Will never set foot in any Ashley store ever again. read more

Do NOT buy furniture from this store. Please save yourselves the headache. We went into the store the third week of July with the intention of buying a sectional. We got one we liked, paid for it in full in cash, and were told that we would have a mid August delivery date. August roles up and we haven't heard anything. Wife calls customer support and never gets through to a real person. On hold for over an hour. We decide to go into the store and are told that our delivery date is set for October! No one bothered to tell us! Magically I receive a text message on September 30th saying that I can choose between three dates. I chose October 8th. Text then says that I will receive a specific delivery time frame within 48 hours of the delivery date that I selected. No text confirming the time. I call the morning of delivery date, a day I specifically set aside from work to be present at the delivery. I call customer support. They say I'm scheduled for October 13th because the couch won't even be in their warehouse until that day! No one bothered to tell us! I'm going in person today or tomorrow to cancel my order. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! After being promised a delivery date and assured there would be no delays, there were of course delays. My first date went by with no contact to say not coming. When I called I was told they had scheduled inventory for that week and weren't doing deliveries but said I was good for 11/25. When no one contacted me the day before Cesar told me they couldn't deliver until late December. When I told him my date was guaranteed by Alicia, he scheduled it. On the 25th I got no call no show. Called and got "Gabriel" who said his name so fast I asked him to spell it and he refused. He told me the furniture isn't in stock and was the absolute RUDEST "customer service" rep. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me no and then put me on permanent hold. Eventually I called back and immediately asked for a supervisor and got Rob. He couldn't have cared less about my delivery or treatment from Gabriel. Usually love Ashley, but they can take a hike. And BTW, when finally delivered 4/6 chairs wobbled and I was told it's my floor that's uneven. I guess my last kitchen set was as uneven as my floor cause that never happened. read more

Do not shop here! I have no idea where my furniture is! Earlier this week, I purchased a sectional couch from Ashley for the home I am closing on next week. When I came time to select a delivery service, the salesman said they know a guy who will deliver it cheaper. They said their guy only takes cash, he doesn't do contracts, and gave me a business card with his phone number. They highly recommended him because he is supposedly better than their in house delivery crew and cheaper. I explained that I would need the couch to be delivered after the closing and they filed the paperwork for a customer pickup rather than delivery. I received a call today from the delivery guy saying he was on his way to deliver my furniture. I told him that he is a week and a half early. He said he will keep it on his truck and deliver next week. It took me 45 minutes to get ahold of the store. They assured me that my furniture would be returned to the warehouse and that a manager would call me shortly. After waiting 6.5 hours for a call from a manager and multiple calls to the store, I drove their to make sure my furniture was back in the warehouse. When I found the manager, John C., I asked where my furniture was, he told me it was in the delivery man's storage unit and not the warehouse. I told John I was uncomfortable with the fact that my furniture was in an undisclosed location with someone that I don't have a contract with. John told me that I needed to "trust the process" and that he didn't want the "paperwork nightmare" of bringing it back to the warehouse. I insisted he call the delivery person to have him send me a contract, I was told to "stop being difficult" and that he would be happy to cancel my order since I "don't trust the process". He handed me a card with the delivery man's phone number and told me to make arrangements for myself. I insisted that he call from the store phone and make the arrangements on my behalf and get me some paperwork for the delivery. John called the delivery man and told him to bring my furniture back in the morning, hung up, and told me to make other arrangements to get my furniture because I don't trust them. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From the fact that their staff steered me towards an under the table delivery service to their manager threatening to cancel my order because I wanted a guarantee that my furniture wasn't stolen! read more

She was able to give us a quote and explained all of our options for delivery. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the product. Sergio took my items and walked away with them saying the person who prices the items won't be in till Monday. I could come back then. Not even trying to fix the problem. Avoid this store at all costs. They are commission based employees. Ordered a bedroom set noticed she put wrong bed headboard information and wrong address and told me this was going to cost her 39 dollars. And guess what when it arrived it was the wrong headboard again. Called store left messages managers blamed me for her ineptitude and told me I was lying but I have the receipts to prove it has been over 10 days they haven't cancelled my order. Called customer care said I had to call store. Store manager hung up on me and other times was told he wasn't available. Even the girl at customer service couldn't get through. Sergio and Jesse are not professionals. It's all about their commission. THE WORST & MOST UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER EXPERIENCED OR HEARD OF!!!!! I have purchased a couch and kitchen table with chairs at the Romeoville location. I needed the items delivered to my apartment which is 40 mins away from the store. The sales associate recommended me a man named Jorge that is a third party delivery guy for the store. I agreed believing the service will be reliable because it was recommended by a Ashley staff member. A week later when my delivery was scheduled I gave Jorge a call about the time estimation of his arrival and he gave me a time slot. Many hours have passed NO one showed up or contacted me. I call him again he tells me the table is on backorder and is not available till weeks later. Mind you this is a WEEK before Christmas and I am left without a couch or kitchen table! I go into the store the next day demanding an explanation why no one told me the table was not available at the time of the purchase. The lady at the main desk looked into the issue and put my name on someone else's order of that table because she saw how angry I was. (very not okay because what if next time they do that to my order for someone else). I called Jorge again saying my table and couch are now available for delivery and when can he drop it off... I set up a time with him everything was good UNTIL again the day comes and NO ONE contacts me, no one shows up, completely nothing! Now this is the third time I set up a delivery day with this man, third day I took off of work. Finally, Jorge shows up to my apartment with the items they carry the kitchen table upstairs to the third floor of my apartment. Next him and the man he came with unload the couch out the truck. The couch would not fit in the door way of the staircase in the apartment hallway, so they were not able to completely deliver it INTO my home! They then told me either I pay them AGAIN to bring the couch another day or they will leave it right where it is in the hallway. THEY LEFT THE COUCH AND LEFT! The most ridiculous service I EVER heard of. The couch was blocking the doorway and other residents were not able to get in and out of the building and it was causing a fire hazard. I call Ashley customer service asap for someone to come pick this thing up but I was just told they can not help me and it is not their problem and their is NOTHING they can do about it. I then call Jorge to come back and take the couch back because it can not just be sitting in the middle of the tiny hallway. His response to my phone call was "fuck you" and hangs up. UNHEARD OF! Beyond rude and ignorant behavior. I spend 4 hours on the phone with customer service from Ashley Furniture that night trying to resolve this problem of a big couch in the middle of the apartment hall. Everyone was beyond rude and didn't care they kept putting me on hold and treating me like a complete joke. Hours later I was able to establish a deal that if I pay Jorge once again he will come pick up the couch the following morning and I will get a refund. I was able to get the couch out of the hall and outside on the sidewalk. That is where the couch stood overnight. Once again I had to take the day off of work to wait for him. He came the next morning and picked it up. Now I was waiting for all the paper work to be done at the stores behalf so I can get my refund back for such unacceptable experience. I had to make multiple trips to the store back and forth and on top of that the staff was totally unprofessional and treating me like a friend. when I walked in I was greeted with, "Hey girl your back". I am a customer and should be treated with respect. Next time I went in once again to sign some more paper work one of the sales associates was trying to flirt with me resulting in telling his coworker to give me his personal phone number to contact him. I was fed up. After TWO days I finally got my refund and after that experience I will NOT be shopping here ever again. read more

Was just in this location with my husband as it looked like a large location made of 2 floors. One being a discount outlet, and the lower floor being the regular merchandise. We went in wanting to return the sofa and loveseat we purchased a couple weeks ago that had not yet been delivered, and possibly exchange or keep the coffee and side tables we purchased. First off, the store is deceiving. The upstairs "clearance" room is pretty empty and a lot of the furniture used was the same merchandise downstairs in the regular showroom. Getting down to business, basically we were told that if we want to cancel/return/exchange anything we have to go back to the store we purchased from because they didn't want to take the sale from the other associate at the previous store. But, aren't WE the customer? So you're saying we drove an hour out of our way to come to this store and we have to go back where we purchased to receive help. They were not willing to make the call for us. We would have to call and talk to the original store and see if they would refund or release it so we could repurchase or exchange the items. Way to make us feel like we are not welcome and our business is unappreciated. Clearly, the customer does not come first at Ashley. Very disappointed and will probably cancel our entire $2100 order and go to Art Van where we get much better Customer Service. read more
