I have to admit, I judged Ollie's before I ever walked through the front door…read more When I hear "closeout" or "bargain" store, my mind immediately goes to digging through disorganized mountains of who-knows-what, wondering if I'll find a bargain or just leave needing a tetanus booster. So I walked in expecting one thing...and left wondering why I hadn't shopped here years ago. The store was clean, organized, and packed with recognizable name brands at prices that honestly made me do a double take. Every aisle seemed to have another great find, and instead of feeling like I was on an episode of Storage Wars, I actually enjoyed browsing. The employees were genuinely friendly, smiled, and seemed happy to help. That alone sets Ollie's apart from a lot of retailers these days. And I have to give a shout-out to whoever curates the music. Instead of the usual elevator soundtrack that makes you wonder if time has stopped, it actually made shopping enjoyable. Then I found out they have a 30-day return policy. That completely caught me off guard. I honestly can't remember the last bargain or closeout store I visited that confidently said, "If it doesn't work out, bring it back." Great prices are one thing, but standing behind what you sell says a lot about a company. The biggest surprise wasn't how much money I saved--it was how much confidence I had shopping there. Ollie's doesn't feel like a place that's just trying to move leftover inventory. It feels like a company that genuinely wants customers to come back. Needless to say, they earned a new customer. I can already tell this won't be my last trip.

This store is always filled with good finds, especially if you're able to find a "color special"…read moreitem. They rotate colors and whichever color is on special is a percentage off. For example, "White tags are 25% off today." I've always seen 25% off, but I don't know for sure if they change the percentage. The selling process is typical frustrating. Having worked in a resale bookstore I understand the used buying process and always assume I'll receive little to no money for my items. Today, I sold 7 items: wall decor film slate, two paintings (unknown artist), two Chinese hanging lanterns (new with tag), one Harley Davidson metal plate wall decor, one large table cloth (new with tag). I received $5.50. There is a Good Will 5 minutes away on Aurora Ave and Foothill Drive. The items New Uses does not purchase I drop off for donation right around the corner, which is convenient. Overall, it's a good resale shop where hidden treasures can be found. It is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. My recommendation for management is to advertise tags in advance. Today, I saw many green tagged items I liked. If I knew when green tags would be on sale/special, I would come back the day of the green tag discount.

Their prices used to be quite good but they continue to go up so it's give-and-take. My most recent…read morefrustration had been when purchasing a wood finished item. Thet always stick their price tags right in the middle of items. I mentioned to the sales person that it would be great if they could put their price not in the middle of a table, but someplace less damaging. She went onto basically tell me it was my fault because of how I probably took my sticker off (note you can see items in their store where they have changed a sticker, and you can see it has taken off the finish). And I said that I was just trying to be helpful, to which they replied that it is how the boss wants it and they listen to their boss not to a customer. So unnecessarily rude. I truly was trying to give constructive feedback.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses…read more I have been doing business with them for 2 years now. They could'nt be nicer. Great Items Great prices. The girls that work in there are so friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to go there I always come home with great stuff. Meeting and evaluation of my fathers house and property were pretty straight forward. They said…read moreall the right things and checked all the boxes my siblings and I were looking for. Myself and my son did a LOT of organizing, cleaning, moving furniture. Communication once we hired the company was so so at best. A lot of things were "let me check and get back to you", which ended up with me having to reach out again to follow up. I walked thru my dads house and garage the day before the sale and saw how they priced everything. My dad lives very rural, in the middle of the country so we did not expect a huge turnout but there were people in line waiting with a constant flow of people both days. Day 1 is suppose to be full price as listed yet several of my friends went to the sale and were ready to pay the full price listed and only ended up paying 1/3. Seems like they were wheeling and dealing on day 1. Which we did NOT agree to. WHAT?? On day 1 you asked $20 for something listed as $60? My dads riding lawn mower was priced at $1400. It didnt sell the first day so I knew it would go for $700 on the 2nd day. When we got our itemized list of what sold we saw that the lawn mower sold for only $300!! a 12 piece oak amish dining room set sold for $100, that was a 1/8 of what it was listed at. We paid $1500 for their "fee" and a 65/35 split. Then told that we didnt have to pay thr $1500, that the fee was asked for if the home was determined that it would bring in a profit. When we received the check and itemized list the $1500 was taken out of the profits and the remainder was done at the split. We ended up after all the work and back and forth with $400. a full 3 bedroom home! The itemized list left out A LOT of pieces that were no longer in my fathers home but were not on the list as sold. I asked if anything was going to be taken for consignment at their store and was told no, so not sure where these items went. My father lived very simply so we were not expecting a huge result but really felt we were taken advantage of and it was a HUGE waste of time. I put in a lot of man hours and had I know I would have either A. let them do all the work or B. Did the work and held the sale myself! NOTE-I have been told by multiple people who frequent their sales and many others, as well as people who have hired them in the past, that they will have their regulars (*who resell) come and give them the deals on items. I cannot confirm this but hearing it from many different people gives me pause.
