I have to admit, I judged Ollie's before I ever walked through the front door…read more When I hear "closeout" or "bargain" store, my mind immediately goes to digging through disorganized mountains of who-knows-what, wondering if I'll find a bargain or just leave needing a tetanus booster. So I walked in expecting one thing...and left wondering why I hadn't shopped here years ago. The store was clean, organized, and packed with recognizable name brands at prices that honestly made me do a double take. Every aisle seemed to have another great find, and instead of feeling like I was on an episode of Storage Wars, I actually enjoyed browsing. The employees were genuinely friendly, smiled, and seemed happy to help. That alone sets Ollie's apart from a lot of retailers these days. And I have to give a shout-out to whoever curates the music. Instead of the usual elevator soundtrack that makes you wonder if time has stopped, it actually made shopping enjoyable. Then I found out they have a 30-day return policy. That completely caught me off guard. I honestly can't remember the last bargain or closeout store I visited that confidently said, "If it doesn't work out, bring it back." Great prices are one thing, but standing behind what you sell says a lot about a company. The biggest surprise wasn't how much money I saved--it was how much confidence I had shopping there. Ollie's doesn't feel like a place that's just trying to move leftover inventory. It feels like a company that genuinely wants customers to come back. Needless to say, they earned a new customer. I can already tell this won't be my last trip.

The people complaining about too much stuff are nuts. That's what you want! Some aisles are…read morenarrow, but most just fine. Get over it. There's a large selection of books, most 3.00 and under, mass market paperbacks 50 cents, and periodically there are good old ones from the 50s or 60s. Some items are cheap. Some are costly. They also sell the very high priced stuff online, but there's still plenty of great stuff in the store itself. The bathrooms are old but super clean and not creepy like in some places. There are real antiques, beautiful furniture, art works, plastic storage tubs, all kinds of glassware, figurines, etc. Don't listen to the complainers. I go whenever I can and almost always find something I want.

I really wanted to love this place, especially with its claim of being the "world's biggest." While…read moreit's certainly packed with an incredible array of items, that density actually makes for a frustrating shopping experience. The aisles are so crammed that it's impossible to navigate with a shopping cart, which really limits your ability to browse and buy. It's a shame because there were genuinely interesting items, from high-priced antiques to thrift-store finds, but the difficulty in moving around made it hard to truly appreciate them. After driving over an hour and 15 minutes to get there, leaving empty-handed was quite a letdown. While I appreciate that they at least had a bathroom, which allowed me to stay as long as I did, the overall hassle overshadowed any enjoyment. I'm not sure if I'll make the trek again for a second chance. I had high hopes, but ultimately, this place just didn't live up to them. Still worth a try. I did find that the employees just sat around on their phones so I couldn't get a feel of who they are. One actually scolded me for trying to pick up and item

Better late than never for this review. 3/10/22 I purchased 3 bags of "Portside Raw Shrimp 40-60…read morecount" that was listed on sale, typed on a blue 8x11(?) sized sheet for $6.49. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't pay attention to what it actually rung up. I just knew it seemed kind of high. When I arrived home, I saw I was charged regular price of $7.99. I immediately called and told what happened. Because I wasn't feeling well, she said I could return it on Saturday if I still wasn't feeling well the next day which was a Friday. When I did arrive that Saturday, the young lady knew me by my beginning statement of why I was there. Well, long story short the manager there, a male, not only did he say what I said wasn't true but he acted as though I was an annoyance. He also walked away from me, while I was speaking, still stating proof of what was displayed on that day. I went home, got the shrimp and returned it as I told him I would. I then called and reported the incident to corporate. Now, I've spent more money on cooked and raw shrimp; that's nothing new to me. This was the principle of the matter. You know something, I went to Walmart that day and found the same amount of shrimp for $6.59. Awesome! My mom still received the dinner I wanted to make for her. I'll also add that, whether Save-a-lot cares or not, they've lost my business, my mom's and 2 of my neighbors' after I told them what happened. My neighbors said they've had issues with them in the past. I'll also tell others. It's only because of this guy that I refuse to return, which is a shame because I like the convenience of shopping there when it's right on my work to and from work and close to home when I just need to get something. Thanks for reading my review.

This store is always filled with good finds, especially if you're able to find a "color special"…read moreitem. They rotate colors and whichever color is on special is a percentage off. For example, "White tags are 25% off today." I've always seen 25% off, but I don't know for sure if they change the percentage. The selling process is typical frustrating. Having worked in a resale bookstore I understand the used buying process and always assume I'll receive little to no money for my items. Today, I sold 7 items: wall decor film slate, two paintings (unknown artist), two Chinese hanging lanterns (new with tag), one Harley Davidson metal plate wall decor, one large table cloth (new with tag). I received $5.50. There is a Good Will 5 minutes away on Aurora Ave and Foothill Drive. The items New Uses does not purchase I drop off for donation right around the corner, which is convenient. Overall, it's a good resale shop where hidden treasures can be found. It is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. My recommendation for management is to advertise tags in advance. Today, I saw many green tagged items I liked. If I knew when green tags would be on sale/special, I would come back the day of the green tag discount.
