I have to admit, I judged Ollie's before I ever walked through the front door…read more When I hear "closeout" or "bargain" store, my mind immediately goes to digging through disorganized mountains of who-knows-what, wondering if I'll find a bargain or just leave needing a tetanus booster. So I walked in expecting one thing...and left wondering why I hadn't shopped here years ago. The store was clean, organized, and packed with recognizable name brands at prices that honestly made me do a double take. Every aisle seemed to have another great find, and instead of feeling like I was on an episode of Storage Wars, I actually enjoyed browsing. The employees were genuinely friendly, smiled, and seemed happy to help. That alone sets Ollie's apart from a lot of retailers these days. And I have to give a shout-out to whoever curates the music. Instead of the usual elevator soundtrack that makes you wonder if time has stopped, it actually made shopping enjoyable. Then I found out they have a 30-day return policy. That completely caught me off guard. I honestly can't remember the last bargain or closeout store I visited that confidently said, "If it doesn't work out, bring it back." Great prices are one thing, but standing behind what you sell says a lot about a company. The biggest surprise wasn't how much money I saved--it was how much confidence I had shopping there. Ollie's doesn't feel like a place that's just trying to move leftover inventory. It feels like a company that genuinely wants customers to come back. Needless to say, they earned a new customer. I can already tell this won't be my last trip.

Out shopping for last-minute touches for a co-workers surprise birthday set-up for tomorrow's…read moreworkday. This is the second Dollar Tree stop in the area in the last half hour. Looking for helium filled mylar balloons. The newer Dollar Tree in Oswego on Ogden near Kohl's advised me they didn't have helium. A call to Party City in the area, told me they no longer were selling helium filled balloons because they are going out of business. The phone at this location was a constant busy when called; so I was worried about going out of my way and they also being out of helium. I decided to take a chance and make the drive anyway. When I arrived at the store, the balloon area to my surprise was filled with many balloons I could purchase, however, I still needed assistance to fill about six to complete my desired purchase. I ask the gentleman at the register, Max if I could have assistance with balloons. He called to someone and another associate came to the front and stated that he'd be on break for two hours and would be unable to assist me. Maxx from the register stepped away, filled my ballon order. He was very polite, friendly and professional. After filling my balloon order he promptly checked my order out at the register. This is the kind of service that I'm always happy to receive. No attitude, not treating customers as if we are an inconvenience. Maxx is an asset to this Dollar Tree store. I appreciated not having to wait or trek to yet another location for service. This is the kind of customer care that will make folks drive out of the way to shop this location for the excellent customer service. It made all the difference in my day.

Better late than never for this review. 3/10/22 I purchased 3 bags of "Portside Raw Shrimp 40-60…read morecount" that was listed on sale, typed on a blue 8x11(?) sized sheet for $6.49. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't pay attention to what it actually rung up. I just knew it seemed kind of high. When I arrived home, I saw I was charged regular price of $7.99. I immediately called and told what happened. Because I wasn't feeling well, she said I could return it on Saturday if I still wasn't feeling well the next day which was a Friday. When I did arrive that Saturday, the young lady knew me by my beginning statement of why I was there. Well, long story short the manager there, a male, not only did he say what I said wasn't true but he acted as though I was an annoyance. He also walked away from me, while I was speaking, still stating proof of what was displayed on that day. I went home, got the shrimp and returned it as I told him I would. I then called and reported the incident to corporate. Now, I've spent more money on cooked and raw shrimp; that's nothing new to me. This was the principle of the matter. You know something, I went to Walmart that day and found the same amount of shrimp for $6.59. Awesome! My mom still received the dinner I wanted to make for her. I'll also add that, whether Save-a-lot cares or not, they've lost my business, my mom's and 2 of my neighbors' after I told them what happened. My neighbors said they've had issues with them in the past. I'll also tell others. It's only because of this guy that I refuse to return, which is a shame because I like the convenience of shopping there when it's right on my work to and from work and close to home when I just need to get something. Thanks for reading my review.

Meeting and evaluation of my fathers house and property were pretty straight forward. They said…read moreall the right things and checked all the boxes my siblings and I were looking for. Myself and my son did a LOT of organizing, cleaning, moving furniture. Communication once we hired the company was so so at best. A lot of things were "let me check and get back to you", which ended up with me having to reach out again to follow up. I walked thru my dads house and garage the day before the sale and saw how they priced everything. My dad lives very rural, in the middle of the country so we did not expect a huge turnout but there were people in line waiting with a constant flow of people both days. Day 1 is suppose to be full price as listed yet several of my friends went to the sale and were ready to pay the full price listed and only ended up paying 1/3. Seems like they were wheeling and dealing on day 1. Which we did NOT agree to. WHAT?? On day 1 you asked $20 for something listed as $60? My dads riding lawn mower was priced at $1400. It didnt sell the first day so I knew it would go for $700 on the 2nd day. When we got our itemized list of what sold we saw that the lawn mower sold for only $300!! a 12 piece oak amish dining room set sold for $100, that was a 1/8 of what it was listed at. We paid $1500 for their "fee" and a 65/35 split. Then told that we didnt have to pay thr $1500, that the fee was asked for if the home was determined that it would bring in a profit. When we received the check and itemized list the $1500 was taken out of the profits and the remainder was done at the split. We ended up after all the work and back and forth with $400. a full 3 bedroom home! The itemized list left out A LOT of pieces that were no longer in my fathers home but were not on the list as sold. I asked if anything was going to be taken for consignment at their store and was told no, so not sure where these items went. My father lived very simply so we were not expecting a huge result but really felt we were taken advantage of and it was a HUGE waste of time. I put in a lot of man hours and had I know I would have either A. let them do all the work or B. Did the work and held the sale myself! NOTE-I have been told by multiple people who frequent their sales and many others, as well as people who have hired them in the past, that they will have their regulars (*who resell) come and give them the deals on items. I cannot confirm this but hearing it from many different people gives me pause.
