In any type of retail, especially if medically related like your eyesight/vision, customers should be provided all options for any type of lenses and the beauty of being the one paying is that THEY get to decide what to buy and how much they want to spend. That ability was taken away from me here. My prescription is very very minimal. I've had corrective eye surgeries so I don't need much at all. I picked out a pair of frames that I liked and told the person to go ahead and place my order. I had to come back in to get measured and she said they'll call me when the glasses area ready. I didn't realize until pickup that somehow, for this very simple and very minimal prescription that the glasses were $300-$400!! Say, what??? I was like ok... I paid it and I said I'm going to be checking with my insurance because this isn't right. There's no way for what I was getting it should cost me that much. I also asked for a more detail receipt, not just an amount, but give details on what exactly I was charged. Well, what I found out in the emailed detailed documentation that the person who works there who took my order decided for herself that I was going to buy the MOST expensive lenses possible. I am very upset she did that and never ASKED me what I, the person paying, wanted to buy. She never gave me any options. She never explained anything. I mean, that's your job is to lay out and describe to me what my purchase options are. She just went ahead and ordered the most expensive thing on my behalf. I didn't think of it during the purchase process (why isn't she showing & explaining lens options...) because that part is their job #1 and #2, I haven't purchased glasses in a really really long time due to my corrective eye surgeries. I didn't even think of what she was *not* doing correctly. So, I called and has this discussion and I needed some of this money back. No way am I paying almost $400 for glasses that barely have any prescription to them, thus I will barely even need/use. I liked the frames so I wanted to keep them and she offered getting the lenses remade. And I'm feeling like, I don't know that I want to do business with them again. So that wasn't my preference given what just happened, how nothing was explained and I was just charged without my consent. Next I said what if I just return the lenses and she said she would refund me. So, that's what I ended up doing. To me it's really ridiculous that she couldn't refund me the difference for the less expensive lenses and allow me to keep the lenses already manufactured and in the frame. -- THAT would have been the ideal response. -- THAT would have saved losing me as a customer for life. So, now we are just going to fully waste the most expensive, perfectly good lenses, sized only for my frames, and with my own prescription for absolutely nothing? Great. How stupid. She is the one who grossly messed up and she should have allowed me to keep those lenses for her mistake instead of being so wasteful. I'm out.

The exam was thorough, Dr. Goshinska is awesome and explained every test that she conducted. After a thorough evaluation, she made my prescription recommendations and gave me two options (a progressive lens, or just an update to my current prescription.) As I am starting to have trouble seeing things up-close too, I chose the progressive. I did not purchase new frames here; I kept my originals. The next step in the process is that they take measurements of your line of vision and eye, so that they know how to build the lenses. The optometrist who did this was also awesome. Fun to talk to. Next, they order the new lenses and they take about a week to come in. I did not have to leave my glasses there. Instead, they called me to let me know when the lenses were ready, so I dropped off my frames to have the new lenses put in. This is the awesome part! I dropped them off on a Friday eve so that I would be without my glasses for a minimal number of my work days. (I use them for the computer.) Imagine my pleasant surprise when I found that the glasses would be turned around for me by Saturday! I picked them up the NEXT DAY less than 24hrs later! I had a terrible experience with Visionworks Lakewood where it took over a week so i was gun shy... but this was amazing. The exam was $49 with my insurance and my new lenses around $400. (Again, did not purchase new frames.) They do charge you $45 for using your own glasses which is lame, but what can I do. I had a great experience and I will be back in a year!

He then took a phone call and helped someone who came in after I did with a glasses pickup before giving me paperwork. Then I got to listen to one of the employees and a customer yell back and forth with each other in the middle of the store. The girl who did the pictures left the table too high and then acted annoyed when I told her I'd rather stand if she wasn't gonna lower it to a comfortable level. The doctor I normally see (and booked) wasn't here. Which is a shame because they're fantastic. My appointment was with a temp or floater. He was weird and didn't really address concerns I had about the imaging side of things. Overall the staff was really rude to their customers on the phone and in store. Sucks because I like the eye doctor at this location, but won't be returning based on this experience.

I love that they have a large selection, but the pricing doesn't match the market. It was going to cost me $400 more at the store than another shop in town for the same thing, even with my insurance! That's outrageous. I also tried to have them just put new lenses (which would have been fully covered) in my glasses from two years ago and the associate told me they don't make my frame anymore. When I went home, not only did I find them on the Lens Crafters website, but called Cherry Creek and they carry them in the store. Really disappointed since I do love their selection. This will be my try on place, but not my purchase place moving forward.

Ended up rescheduling the next Thursday with promise of compensation. Called Monday to confirm the appointment and compensation details as they were not clear. Called over ten times trying to get some corporate number or somebody higher to help since the manager cannot do her job, each time they answered and hung up on me like little kids. Finally answered after like the 12th time and just kept incoherently yelling about they were calling Westminster Police. For me calling and asking about my appointment?? Is it a crime to call a business? Ridiculous waste of time. The fat little receptionist and the old stinky coochie manager should be fired.

When I arrived I believe it was the same man, and he was equally as nice and helpful in person. The tech who did all the tests/images on my eyes was kind and helpful as well! He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it in a way I could understand. He made sure all of my worries or concerns were addressed as well. The doctor, Megan Callahan, was probably the kindest doctor I've met in my life. She really cares about her patients! She also explained everything in great detail and made sure I understood my eye health and that I didn't walk out of the exam room with any questions unanswered. I had a case where I was given a wrong script by a big chain office upon moving to Denver, and it was causing me great head and eye pain. She was able to show me the difference between my original script, the wrong one, and my new correct one. And WOW! I am so glad she showed me as it really gave me a better understanding and so much peace of mind. Then I was taken out to try on some frames (they offered to put lenses in the ones I already had and did NOT pressure me at all to purchase anything extra from them) but I found some I love and they did a great bundle with the frames and lenses. All in all I had the best experience I could have hoped to have today! I will be a lifelong patient at this office. Lastly, this office is BEAUTIFUL. The decor is lovely, comforting and still professional. It was spotless clean! The room you pick out glasses in was so comfy and organized. If I could give 100 star rating I would!!

However, they wasted two hours of my time, I guess so that they could get me in front of a doctor to tell me I had a problem with dry eyes and then do a test with which they tried to give me a chiropractor-style sales pitch to say that I needed a care plan for some sort of chronic dry eye problem. Like they said the veins in my eyelid weren't long enough. Yeah, right. No thanks. As if that wasn't enough, they asked for my actual health insurance info, which I thought was weird. Then at the end, they said my insurance didn't cover the exam, so I paid the full amount, as adjusted by my *vision insurance*. Well, yesterday, 6 months after my appointment, I got a letter from my health insurance about benefits received that they aren't covering. Yeah, North Park billed my HEALTH INSURANCE, so now I'm going to have to pay them, probably. They double dipped. On top of that, I noticed they have posters all around their offices targeted at parents, where they're trying to exploit their worries about their childrens' performance in school and suggest that some kind of eye operations will solve their learning problems. Yeah, this place is running every kind of scam they can. Skip it.

They just like to point fingers at each other. I use to be in the field for 13 years. I have never treated a patient the way I was treated at this practice. I should've "listened" to those other not-so-great reviews you see about this place. Those were real red flags and should not be taken lightly. If you HAVE to go to this place, here's my advise after a daunting experience: 1. Know exactly what you are covered, if you're using insurance, because front desk has no clue. One of many examples: Dr had told their staff to remove the discount, even though it was part of my coverage. This was all to make me pay more. 2. If you get a quote, I would have them write it down, sign and initial. Cover your butt. They will deny everything they ever said. Just FYI, I have worn the same (monthly) contacts for over 2 months because I refuse to pay an overcharged balance due to the doctor's request to upcharge (as per front desk); therefore, I am unable to obtain my Prescription to order contacts. I had to get VSP insurance involved to help me settle this but had to wait until the Dr came back from the holidays. VSP has helped me settle this fairly. I have my prescription now and will never, ever do business with this practice. EVER.
