I've gone to many Lens Crafters and Target Opticals but this one is by far the best, which is why I am going out of my way to write this review. Dr. Marbun and Diana are amazing-- good people and good at what they do. I look forward to my appointment next year, and I would be so sad to find out if they left. read more

I brought my family here and the staff was extremely attentive, they helped my husband try on and pick the best pair of glasses at the best price. read more

I made a same day appointment and was able to get in without waiting at all. The doctor did a regular exam, got my contact prescription, gave it to the front desk and I was out in just under an hour. They have a wide selection of contact brands and the prices are right what you'd expect. read more

I came in wanting to order some of my contacts and Mariel was so good at her job that I ended up with a whole year set of contacts and ontop of that I bought some glasses. I spent more than I anticipated but it's okay, I needed a brand new fresh pair of eyes and Mariel definitely went above and beyond with her excellent customer service and knowledge as well! read more

I have been going to this location for a few years and then stopped (bad idea) because another eye care office was closer to my work so I decided to give them a try. Well now I'm back to this location. The optometrists at Target Optical are very helpful. When I need to have my eyes examined last minute because my prescription expired and I am not able to reorder any more contacts, this is the place to go. They usually schedule me within that day or a day/two later, it just depends on when it's convenient for me. The staffs are always super friendly and engaging which is definitely appreciated. The female employee (I didn't catch her name) adjusted my glasses for me that I didn't buy there which is very nice of her. Thank you guys!!! read more

I was not told there were any choices regarding progressive lenses, so I ended up paying a higher price than Lensecrafters would have cost. In addition, they are very poor quality. I had them remade 3 times in my warranty window, but they still are barely acceptable. I have had progressive lenses that cost much less from Walmart, Sears, and Lensecrafters that were all far superior quality. Why two stars? Love the frames I found a Target, which is why I bought my glasses there. read more

I come here every year for my eye exam and they always give the best customer service. I got a great steal on contact lenses for a year supply. Along with my insurance coverage there was a $50 which led to a great price. Thank you for always having great deals! read more

I've had some good experiences here, but also some pretty bad experiences. However - when you catch a good staff member - they're pretty good at redeeming themselves. My worst experience was a bipolar guy who completely misfit and disfigured my Ray Ban frames. I had to take them to a Lens Crafters where they had to use pliers to refit them to my face. BUT, I will say that when other team members have helped me I've received excellent, professional, and knowledgable service. read more

I walked in filled out paperwork and gave them my insurance information. They took me to the back to take the eye exam without telling me my insurance is not covering me until AFTER the eye exam. It's like they didn't care to tell me they don't accept my insurance but they still took my eye exam and also tried to add extra costs for astigmatism or whatever else which I find weird because I've had contacts for 6 years and have never been told this before! read more

Always friendly and informative of good prices, insurance questions and deals! I went there to get my glasses adjusted and the person there was very helpful. I also needed to order more contacts but because my prescription was ending soon they kindly gave me a emergency pair and a free box of eye solution. Awesome customer service. Too bad this is the only target in San Diego with an optical center. read more

I went into my eye exam not expecting it to be covered by my insurance and that was confirmed when the receptionist said she couldn't find any information about eye exam coverage, so I said that was fine. I paid $25 afterwards but then received a call the next day saying I have to pay $39 more because they found out I don't have eye coverage. But I thought it was already established that my insurance doesn't cover this so that was pretty annoying...I guess if I come here next time I'll have to double check that they are charging me the correct amount. Apart from that I've had mostly positive experiences and Dr. Marbun is great. read more

Eye appointment went well however the customer service is horrible. After waiting for the rep to finish her call, she proceeded to take a walk in customer without even looking in my direction. Very disrespectful and disappointing!!!! Never again!! read more

They have a huge selection of frames for people with smaller faces (sizes 46mm-50mm). I usually have to buy children's frames if I want them to fit my face, but Target had many brands that had smaller sizes with the same adult look. The two people working were very helpful. The woman helped me find frames that looked good with my face shape and color. The man helped me order frames and lenses. This was the best experience I've had buying new glasses. Thank you Target, for finally getting an optical store!!! read more

Love this target optical. We use to go to Jcpenneys optical, but the quality of the frames and lenses just didn't cut it for my 6 year old. The Customer service here is great! Super friendly, they answer all of my questions and delivered quality glasses. They have a really great selection of frames to choose from, and we will continue to give them our business for years to come... read more

Do not go here!! Had the worst experience from pricing, exam and horrible customer service. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. What a disappointment this place is! read more

I needed new glasses and ROMAN was aaaahhhhmazing!!! he did such a fantastic job helping me out. I had an idea of what I thought was trendy on me and he helped me find something that actually looked great. he is very smart and really helped me out. thanks ROMAN!!!!! read more

Great and helpful staff made this a good experience. Roman was very helpful saving me money when he just as easily could have blown it off, this IS (like) southern California after all. read more

I visited Target Optical for the first time recently. Coming from out of state (sort of out of country, too, depending on perspective), I wasn't entirely sure where to have my eye exam done. Target took my insurance, and I needed to do some grocery shopping anyway, so Target Optical it was. Scheduling over the phone was really easy. I don't explain things very well, but the person who helped me over the phone made the transaction go as smoothly as possible. She took my contact and insurance info and gave me the perfect time slot to fit my schedule. The day before my appointment, Joe called me to remind me of it. The day of, I finally met Joe in person, as he was the one to assist me for most of my visit. He was extremely courteous and accommodating the entire time. Dr. Nguyen was in charge of the actual eye exam. He was nice, but I felt as if he was rushing me a bit too much for my comfort. Not to be discourteous or rude to the Vietnamese, but I couldn't really understand him well because of his thick accent. I'm ashamed because Asian languages are my specialty, so it shouldn't have been as much of a problem as it was that day. The eye exam itself cost roughly $107, but because of insurance I paid about $45. I bought contacts and glasses that day, too. I spent roughly $430 that day on the exam, new contacts, and new glasses. My eyes are horrible, so from experience I expected the price to be pretty high up, but I wasn't expecting it to cost most of my checking account. This was where Joe (and my roommate) came to the rescue. That $430 was actually the discounted price. I didn't have car insurance because I don't have a car or license in California. However, my roommate did. So Joe suggested I use her car insurance to my advantage? I'm not sure how it works, but AAA Insurance shaved off about $180 off my bill. Without the discount, I would have walked away without buying new contacts and glasses, which would have defeated the purpose of getting my eyes checked in the first place. Keep in mind, though, if you aren't legally blind in one eye, if your left and right eye grades don't differ by 3.75, and if you don't have astigmatism in both eyes, your prices won't climb as high as mine. Service was great, but just personally, the price didn't make me very happy. read more

Jeff and Dr. Marburn were fantastic. No pressure, just helpful and informative. The service is as affordable as it gets with options to get additional services (you only pay for what you want and aren't forced into anything!). Jeff and their scheduling system made it very easy, too! Thanks! read more

DO NOT order from CHRISTINE BURNITAS- she will take your credit card information and hold onto it for hours, without charging or processing order, but she will give you confirmation that your order has gone through. Then, she calls back hours later, saying she wasn't able to because of changes in their system... then she goes on to say it's a policy change... then it's a technical difficulty since some peoples cards are going through.. Telling me I have to drive all the way there for her to charge my card in person. She claims she is the Manager and would not transfer me to Management... yet, after probing for direct title and names, she is the Assistant Manager in the absence of management. She put me on hold, while I am busy at work, to tell me she's going to try to get a hold of management... I sat on hold, missing my work appointment, for a very long time. I got fed up, and dialed from my other line to her, and she picks up as if she was not doing anything, with a boy in the background chuckling. How dare she put me on hold to answer other calls minutes later, and not take care of the situation at hand? I am a very upset client. I have been coming to this location for more than four years, how dare I get treated this way. She did not offer any resolution. What a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. I want to get in touch with the responsible party, but she would not get me to them. If someone does not get in touch with me soon, I will be coming into make sure I get in touch with the Regional Manager to complain. No one should hold on to your CC information, tell you your order has been processed, and put it aside as if it does not matter... then call you back hours later to tell you it never went through. How dare they waste my time, my time is very valuable. WORST TARGET OPTICAL SERVICE EVER RECEIVED FROM HERE. I am very unhappy, and cannot believe how anyone would leave someone like CHRISTINE BURNITAS responsible of their shop. If I had the option, I would give this place 0 stars for the service I received. read more

I decided to try Target Optical after reading the great reviews here. I bought some beautiful designer frames at a great sale price. Daniel initially helped me and was very accommodating. I had follow up visits with Reza because she wanted to make sure my prescription was correct. Her attention to detail and wanting me to be completely satisfied with my glasses was gratifying. She is a great asset to the optical department and made this experience a pleasure. Because of her and Daniel, I am happy to recommend Target Optical. I am very happy with the outcome. read more

By far best experience with an exam and choosing a selection. The staff was beyond helpful. Roman helped me out right when I walked in and was very professional. He asked me some questions about what kind of glasses I was looking for while I waited for the doctor. He seemed to get a good idea of what I needed and said he had it all handled. The doctor then took me back and was so great at going over my options as far as contacts since I had been considering it. He never pushed me to do the exam and he was great about explaining little things that previous doctors hadn't explained. He went over everything and answered all my dumb questions with a smile and seemed to actually care about me. I wasn't just another person. When we were done I went back out to Roman who had picked out several styles that were pretty close to what I was looking for. He had gotten exactly what I like down to the color and angle of the lenses. He was so spot on after just a few moments with me. Once I had selected my frames (which he had actually been responsible for picking out), he took his time and went over all the information and got me the best deal. He didn't rush me and was very polite when I needed some time to look over all the decisions. When I had finally finished I felt so comfortable with the team there at Target Optical that I don't think I want to go anywhere else. It was great for someone who had only just started wearing glasses about 2 years ago and they made sure to help me save money as a college student with a tight budget. Overall, I am so excited to go back and pick up the great glasses and sunglasses I picked out. I would use them again for any optical needs and they might see me back soon for those contacts. They really took their time, especially Roman. I sincerely hope that someone management sees this and reminds him of how awesome he is. He made my horrible day so much better by just treating me like a human being which sounds strange from only going to pick out glasses. So thank you to Roman! You are the best man! read more

These employees are awesome! They listen, they help and they communicate well! Their customer service is the best I have had! I bought glasses at this store and I've received so many compliments on my glasses. It's been almost a year that I have had them and they have been wonderful about tightening them as-needed. I've also had an issue with the anti-glare coating and they took care of it right away. I wish this store was closer to home. They are the best hands-down!!! read more

I wasn't expecting much when coming to this center...however, I was pleasantly surprised! I believe the girl who helped me was named Reza (?) and she was amazing! Although they were busy (phone ringing, people with apts, me buying glasses), she was really attentive, genuine, and managed to help everyone. I've worked in customer services for many years and appreciate when I see someone giving their all, so I give props to her! Also, got a great discount on my Rx sunglasses! Awesome experience. read more

We had an AMAZING experience with Manuel and the lady who was working with him on 3/23/17. They both took very good care of us and were really upbeat, professional and positive. Dr. Marbun was absolutely wonderful! Super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions and ensured I had an all-encompassing eye exam. Reza was extremely helpful. She was the one that booked my appointment, helped me with prices in person and over the phone, ordered my glasses and contacts, and called me when the orders were ready. She is so peppy, helpful, efficient, and amazing at her job! Both my glasses and contacts were ready to pick up early too. read more

I've been a customer of Target Optical since 2013. I've had my eye exams done here and bought sunglasses and eyeglasses. This store has a great selection of both sunglasses and eyeglasses, and their employees are very helpful with selecting the right glasses. I had the pleasure of working with Roman again recently: not only did he honor my $25 coupon which had supposedly expired, but he also helped me select the perfect pair of glasses! Which I found extremely valuable because I have a horrible time making decisions about what kind of glasses look good on me. I had come in previously and tried on several pairs but still couldn't decide. I told Roman what I was interested in, such as the current styles, what's best for my face shape, etc etc. Roman is quite knowledgeable about what glasses look best, because he showed me other pairs that I hadn't even tried on yet and among those, we found the perfect glasses!!! I must say, from my previous experience working with Roman I trusted his opinion and so I went with his suggestion! He was definitely right--- these glasses suit me, and I have been complimented several times since wearing them! (I'm wearing these glasses in my Yelp picture!!!!) Thanks, Roman for your attention to detail , and for your efforts to make sure your customers have a wonderful experience!! read more

Excellent experience here ! I highly recommend . I went for contacts and Dr. Marbun ensured I was well taken care of, but that expected from the doc right !! Her staff especially Manual was amazing. Made sure I knew everything there was about contacts and even gave me Training until I was confident enough to take them in and out on my own . Great place to get contacts !!! read more
