I had to leave a review because the experience here has been amazing! Dr. Phu is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and honestly just so cool and easy to talk to lol. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and makes you feel really comfortable during your appointment. Also a HUGE shoutout to management, especially Diane! I purchased my Prada glasses last year and my lenses had gotten super scratched up. Even though I was past my warranty, she completely blessed me and helped me get new replacement lenses for only $25. That level of customer service and kindness honestly goes such a long way. So thankful for the care and help from this team !!! I highly recommend this office if you're looking for people who genuinely care about their patients and customers! 10/10 experience read more

Diane the manager fixed two pairs of glasses for me and they were purchased at Costco. So very nice of her. The store is clean and lots of frames to choose from. Come see Diane for all your optical needs. read more

From start to finish this was a great experience. Diane was the person who helped me with same day glasses. She was professional, friendly, helpful and most importantly she gave me my glasses same day as I promised since I was leaving for vacation. They were even ready an hour early. Lastly this place has a great selection of designer frames. Definitely recommend. Ask for Diane! read more

Scheduled an eye exam same day i called (as opposed to others who had me waiting for months). The exam was the most informative i have ever had. (I've had a lot of exams through the years). Front desk was personable. Examiner was personable, experienced and explained everything fully. Selection of glasses was just right. The glasses i chose arrived early. Glasses were perfect. It was probably the one of the best experiences i've had with an optometrist. Parking was no problem. Can't say anything bad. Glad i stumbled upon them in my search for an optometrist. read more

Dr Phu was amazing! Clear explanations and communication as to what was happening with my eyes. Also the diagnostic tools he used were state of the art. Looking forward to Dr Phu taking care of my peepers from here on out! As far as the store goes, amazing! I was shown lots of larger frames and was able to select the perfect new pair of glasses. In other words, a great selection for all types of face sizes and shapes. She also fixed the hinge on my existing pair of glasses. Excellent care and service, 5 stars well earned! I was looking for a pair of prescription glasses that would allow me to read comfortably without worrying about warping my frames. I had heard that Silhouette has the lightest, most flexible and comfortable options. But many of the stores I contacted that carry this independent brand didn't seem to accept VSP insurance. Until I found Pearle Vision, Rosecrans. They carry a large number of Silhouette frames and it was easy to get what I wanted (if other optical stores even carried Silhouette they often only had a small sample). Diane's experience with this independent brand was also a major factor to my decision in getting my new prescription glasses there. She's has a wealth of information on the products (especially helpful as Silhouette allows 'limitless options in terms of shape, color and design') and was patient in explaining the different factors to consider. I was warned by a few people familiar with the brand that once I got my first pair of Silhouettes I would never wear another; I believe it and when I do need another pair I'm going back to Diane at Pearle Vision, Rosecrans. read more

I don't write reviews normally but something happened at this place that just doesn't sit right with me. So I went there last year for my eye exam and had a great experience with Dr. Phu.. he's the reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. I got a new job at the end of last year so new insurance. I was happy to see on my insurance's website that Pearle Vision accepts it. So I made an appointment for a Friday at 5pm since I have an office job and can't make it any other time other than the weekend. I get a call from a young man the day before to confirm and he starts it by asking "can you come any earlier? Maybe 11am?" And I completely understand that people want to go home at a decent time.. but if I could go at 11am wouldn't I have booked it then? It seemed kind of inconsiderate to ask me to leave my work early but I told him I could try to come on my lunch break. Then he tells me they're having a problem with my new insurance and asked me the name of it. I told him and he sassily goes "I've NEVER heard of that". I said well you guys were listed as providers on the website.. and he goes "really? Are you sure?" Like I'm lying or something.. so he tells me he has to give me a call back because he needs to investigate. So I feel dumb and look it up again on the website just to make sure. Yep they're listed right at the top. So I call back and speak to the absolute RUDEST front desk lady ever.. she goes "yeah we are WORKING on it" and literally hung up on me!!! I was so shocked because I work in customer service and I always do my best to be polite to others on the phone. They didn't call me back until 15 minutes later and said they were having "phone problems"... really? That's a bad lie. So the man tells me they don't take my insurance, even though it's listed on the website, so I tell him I want to cancel my appointment. He acts all shocked and goes "awww are you sure??" Really? After this experience? And why would I want to come in for an appointment where I can't use my insurance even though I use my hard earned money to pay for it every month? So I said absolutely not. Now I'm still getting emails from them asking me to reschedule. I would call my insurance to dispute it but with the attitude and rudeness of the people that work here I have absolutely no desire to go there. Hope this review helps others go somewhere else read more

The front desk woman is so rude and has a the worse attitude. Speaks condescending. Refuses to listen. I don't see how they keep patients. My daughter saw the Dr here & I really liked him. Thought I'd see him for my next exam. Booked the appointment but she was having trouble verifying my insurance. Didn't want to take the phone number of the insurance company company. Reluctantly did, then claimed insurance company couldn't find me. I called and was able to verify coverage within minutes. Will not be getting my exam here due to her attitude & rudeness. She needs to lose her job. read more

Recently I found out my eyeglass prescription has changed. Headed over to the Pearle Vision down in Loma Portal. I have a complex prescription, so I knew my lenses were going to be expensive. Also, I like the frames I currently have, so I don't want to be forced to buy new ones. The store manager Diane reassured me this was not a problem. The quote she provided for one pair distance glasses & one pair reading glasses was $360 less than what I was quoted down at the Navy's 32nd St Pearle Vision Store. My glasses were ready for pickup within 8/10 days. I'm very happy they carried the latest Crizal Lenses. Their staff was friendly & made the process easier. I'm very happy with my purchase. They will be my new goto store for eyewear. read more

If you're looking for a place to get your eyes checked or just to get new glasses, this is the place. You will not be disappointed! Tracy the owner is amazing and a Godsend. Nada the tech is super friendly. She said my glasses would be ready in two hours, but called in 20 min and said they were done. Cannot thank Tracy and Nada enough for helping me pick out new glasses and replace my broken ones. Long story short, my glasses broke last night and I'm in a time crunch. Tracy helped me find something that my lenses would fit into and was able to transfer the lenses over. Left with new glasses! Thank y'all ladies so much!! read more

I had scheduled an annual eye-exam with Dr. Phu here after finding Pearle Vision through my United Healthcare insurance website. Before going, I was a little skeptical about the quality of the exam and whether I'd be treated by a professional, as I'd never really heard of Pearle Vision and it seemed like an non-traditional place to see an optometrist. I hadn't had an eye exam in well over 5 years, so the market has definitely changed and there are so many different kinds of clinics available with varying degrees of quality, but I'm VERY glad that I went here! Dr. Phu and the staff at Pearle Vision were incredibly welcoming and professional! Dr. Phu is super chill, a UCSD alum and San Diego-native, extremely knowledgeable and just a friendly doctor to talk to. Had a great exam with him and his staff, and they used some pretty nifty retinal scanning tools alongside the traditional eye-exam stuff, so I felt like I was getting a very thorough exam. The staff helped fit me with a low-grade prescription for reading glasses and I couldn't be happier with the result. If you're looking for a new optometrist, I definitely recommend giving this place a shot! read more

Upcharged for something I could have refused but didn't know. Not explained. Small talk and not much about eye care. Had to ask too many questions. First time there. It was like fast food service, impersonal with no explanations. read more

First, I have to note that the optometrist, Dr. Wilson, and the store operate separately. Dr. Wilson is great and very helpful, Id give him a 5 star for sure. However, the store itself is quite the opposite. The staffs are condescending. And the last time I visited, one of them gave me the wrong information about my contacts rebate. She claimed I'd get the full $200 rebate if I purchase the annual supply, although I have purchased the same brand of contacts at another store before. I made my purchase based on that. When I tried to apply for my rebate, I was told I can't claim the full amount because I'm a return customer. If I had the correct information I would have not made the purchase. Also the last provider I used applied the rebate on my behalf and when I asked if they could do the same she acted like I was crazy so I had to do it myself. I had to switch provider because my insurance changed. Overall I would recommend the doctor but the front store is pretty bad. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was surprisingly quick and easy, especially for a first-timer. I was greeted by very friendly staff. The office was very clean and inviting. Nada did my pre-exam and she was very easy-going and efficient. Dr. Phu conducted by eye exam. He seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. Since it was my first visit, he asked a lot of questions about my vision history, preferences, and my overall vision goals. Overall, I really felt catered to. The staff all seemed genuinely friendly and happy to help. Definitely coming back next year! read more

Best optometrist in town! I'm really bad at getting my annual exams on time, so I finally went to Pearle Vision this week for my eye exam after I ran out of contacts. I called around 3 hours prior to make an appointment for the same day and they were able to fit me in! The staffs are all very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend scheduling an appointment with Dr. Phu! He is really patient and takes his time to answer any of the questions you might have. I always feel guilty when my prescription gets worse but he was really reassuring and makes the focus on your overall eye health. So happy I found Pearles and an optometrist that I look forward to going back next year :) read more

I am one very satisfied customer! I walked into this friendly store needing new lenses and frames. The owner, Tracy, was wonderful as well as her Optician, Nada. They helped me to find two fabulous eyeglass frames which I simply love. Tracy offers a very unique and classy array of frame styles, far exceeding that of other stores I had checked out. I got expert, warm and friendly service as well as prices that turned out to be nearly half of what I'd been quoted from several other eyewear companies. This was such an enjoyable buying experience for both me and my daughter, who had come along with me! These people care about their customers and they show it! So I highly recommend Pearle Vision on Rosecrans. They will take great care of you and save you major bucks in the process! They're the best! Bonny B. Spring Valley read more

I paid over $350 for lenses for my TF glasses and the lenses kept popping out. I took my glasses back twice and each time, some extremely rude Asian chick who acted like I was interrupting her doing nothing said she would send them out to be repaired. When my glasses were ready for pick up, I go to pick them up and as soon as I tried them on, the lenses popped out again. I asked for a full refund. She took out the lenses, gave me my frames and basically tried to blame my insurer, VSP. I called VSP immediately and they are making an exception for me to get new lenses. F this place... read more

I was here in sd on vacation when I got an eye injury from wearing a torn contact for way too long and needed some immediate care but did not know where to go. First destination was costco which was totally booked (not surprised) so was turned away. My better half searched and came across this place and to our surprise, was able to get an appointment later on in the afternoon. But better yet, they called back and said if you can come in earlier around noon and I said yes definitely! Found the place which is in a shopping complex off rosecrans and checked in and the Dr saw me soon after he walked in. Checked out the eye and sure enough, abrasions from the torn contact so he wrote me a prescription for some antibiotic eye drops which I picked up at the CVS right there and was on my way. Thankfully this place was able to see me right away especially since my eye was not doing so good and I really needed something for my eye. Many thanks to Dr Phu for taking care of my emergency on such short notice which was very unexpected but much appreciated! read more
