On 01/21/26 I went to my scheduled eye exam appointment at Vision-works. I have been a good…read morecustomer for several years. Two things one should know: First: When I went for my appointment I had no complaints and I just wanted an eye exam to use to purchase my yearly set of glasses. I saw the optometrist who insisted on doing a retinal scan which I did not need. He claimed he saw things on the scan and tried to send to an ophthalmologist that he knew. He wrote on my referral slip that said I had all kinds of vision complaints none of which were true. In retrospect this is not the first time this has happened here. It looks to me like because I have good insurance they are sending me for referrals that I do not need to make money for people that they know. Second: That day my wife also purchased a new pair of glasses. She decide in two days after pick up and wearing the frame that the new glasses did not fit her correctly and because vision-works offers a 100 day exchange policy we returned her glasses and she picked out a new frame. The new frame was priced $50.00 cheeper that the original frame I had purchased. The sales representative refused to refund the $50.00 I was owed and he refused to give me store credit. He said if you exchange a more expensive frame for a cheeper frame they do not refund your money. I believe that I should have been informed of this prior to picking out the new frame. Every year on top of what my insurance pays I spend between $800.00 and $1200.00 on new glasses for myself and my wife. I will never shop at vision-works again. If you do I suggest you beware before punching anything at their Levittown store.

Several years ago I had gotten a new pair of glasses from a different location in Queens. While I…read morewas visiting a nearby Mall screw came out and I couldn't see anything. My sister tiik me to this location and very nicely they fixed my glasses and ask for nothing in return, and they knew I didn't buy from their company. Three years later I'm ready for a new pair of glasses and luckily I moved into their neighborhood. I knew for sure they were the place I had to go. I have to say they were so amazing. The doctor was quick, efficient, and extremely informative. I have never had a doctor treat me so well in any field of Medicine. I've worn glasses almost my whole life and never knew some of the stuff she told me. The staff there were super sweet and helped me pick out a pair of glasses and the extras that would be best for me. I doubt the location had anything to do with the pricing but I also got an amazing deal (I do have insurance though), with all the bells and whistles and a pair of Ray-Bans. I never paid so little for a check up and glasses. Thank you so much for this much needed experience. I highly recommend them

If you want efficient and pleasant service without being overcharged, please shop elsewhere…read more When I first arrived, I witnessed a customer complaining about being overcharged in a previous interaction and the worker she spoke with stated that she never got around to calling the customer. It's horrible that someone had to drive out of her way to correct a business' mistake. I tried to ignore the conversation, hoping my experience would be better. Unfortunately, it was not. I was made to wait 40 minutes to be seen for my eye exam, despite arriving five minutes early for my appointment. Upon check out, I encountered an extremely nasty and inept optician's assistant told me to "stop talking" after I brought to her attention that she was charging me more than the promotional price listed on the website. Apparently, she cannot do simple math in her head so being rude improves matters? Also, being overcharged is seeming to be a common occurrence at Wize Eyes. And, the piece de resistance, the assistant tried to sell me on glasses and contacts after her obnoxious comment! If I hadn't already been seen by the doctor, I would've stormed out! Her appalling behavior just cost Wize Eyes a nearly $500 sale of eyeglasses and contact lenses at a time when brick-and-mortar opticals across the country are losing market share to online stores. So glad to give Warby Parker and 1800 Contacts my money!

Yesterday was my first visit here and I was very impressed with the entire staff…read more I first sat down and filled out the necessary paperwork for a first time visitor. They accept my union medical coverage which is definitely a plus. Shortly after filling out the paperwork I was called in to have my eyes examined...very professional, thorough process. I needed just a touch stronger reading glasses than I currently had, and the progressive lenses were explained to me as I good option. I went back outside to pick out frames. They have a large selection to choose from, and offer good opinions on styles. The frames are also reasonably priced. Finally the frames and lenses were measured and my visit for the day was complete, and my new glasses should be ready in a few days. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Out of pocket expenses seem minimal. And the location is easy access with ample parking. I highly recommend Central Nassau Optical!

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE - Disrespectful and dishonest…read more Before the exam, I presented my insurance voucher. No one mentioned any issue with coverage. The doctor finally saw me (25 minutes after my appointment time) and only AFTER the exam was completed did Vanessa at the front desk suddenly claim it "doesn't cover contact lenses." This should have been communicated upfront. Anything else feels misleading at best. Felt extremely deceptive and dishonest on their part. When my mom calmly asked for clarification, Vanessa became increasingly condescending and dismissive, speaking to her in a patronizing tone. Another employee then inserted herself into the situation and immediately escalated it by raising her voice and talking over us. At NO point at all were we being rude. There was no reason for them to be hostile. We were simply asking reasonable questions. My mom doesn't speak perfect English, and the way they addressed her felt unnecessarily harsh and lacking in basic respect or patience. It created a very uncomfortable dynamic that no customer should have to deal with. I had to call them out on this and told them that they were being rude, to which they simply doubled down. Even after repeatedly asking why we weren't just INFORMED about the lack of coverage before the exam, no one could provide a straight answer...just deflection and attitude. Not only have I been to a handful of different eye doctors before and have never experienced this, but also I've been coming here since I was a child for my glasses, which makes this even more disappointing. This office lacks transparency, accountability, and respect for its clients. They are perfectly willing to provide services without clearly explaining costs. And then they'll try to treat you poorly if you question it. Take your money somewhere that actually values honesty and basic customer service.
