A week later called me and said replaced bushings but needs new bridge and will have to order the part that'll be $200. Another week or so goes buy and they say glasses are ready. I went in to pick them up and the problem wasn't solved. The arms/legs of the glasses were still loose and charged me $200 and did not document what they replaced or fixed. I indicated that they didn't solve the problem and was not happy. They said glasses were fine as they replaced the bridge. I asked them if they did a full assessment of the glasses, and they "said" they replaced the bridge. I said I cannot wear them because they are loose and still flimsy. How do you charge someone but don't fix the problem? I will be filing with the better business bureau especially since I'm a senior. Very Dissatisfied Customer.

After trying to work with manager of store and main headquarters, only was given a credit toward frames for next year; which I don't need. I wanted a credit on the lenses/frames I ordered this year. I don't need new frames next year. Not happy, as I spent over $500 and got no satisfaction. I reached out to fill out a complaint form twice; have heard nothing back from headquarters. Think twice before ordering from Pearl Vision. Not good customer service. Only want your money.

Last year I spent about 7 months visiting various optometrists, just checking out their shops and…read moregetting a feeling for the vibe of the place. I like a very particular style of frame and I was struggling to find it anywhere. I also was struggling to find a place that was welcoming. I live in the city but my parents still live in the suburbs so after exhausting every option within a 4 mile radius of my apartment, I decided to venture out into the suburbs. I walked in and I was immediately helped. I told them I was looking for frames and I only wanted an appointment if I could find the frames. They said okay and they helped me try dozens of frames. The lady went through her entire inventory and pulled out everything that was in the style I like (a thin, rectangular frame with a wire rim that goes around the entire lens). While this was a frustrating experience, the lady knew her inventory and knew there was something for me. What I liked about the inventory is that they had a mix of designer and non designer frames with a point to have a range of styles. We found my frames after about 30 minutes of trying then on my face (at this point, in my 7 month hunt for new glasses I had tried approximately 100 frames). So I bought the frames and scheduled an appointment. The doctor was great (Dr. Heimlich). He was a very thorough doctor who spent more time with me than other doctors have in the past. When he found out my preferred brand of contacts was being discontinued, he listened to me and what brands I had tried before and helped me find a new brand to try out. My father noticed how wonderful they treated all their patients and he ended up shopping for lenses and setting up an appointment for himself. The rest of my family is also setting up their own appointments based on our experience. This isn't one of those big box stores where they don't take notice of you. This is the kind of place where everyone in the office works to help you out. I don't think I can ever go back to one of the chains again. The equality of care and service here is amazing.

Finding a doctor/professional service is hard whether it is a dentist, eye doctor, regular doctor,…read moreetc. It is very personal when it is in regards to your health. After moving to Arlington Heights a few years ago, it was time find a new eye doctor. Based on some reviews and the fact they took my vision insurance, I decided to try Alan Optical. I called to make an appoint and the staff is very friendly. They send you a text message the day before to remind you of your appointment. I have had both Erica and Keith and both have been excellent. I have been going there for the past three years and they are always on time. I hate when doctor's offices run behind schedule by a long time. This is not the case here. I order contacts through them and they provide rebate information and will also send you a text message to pick them up. They are also willing to ship them to you if you would rather go that route. Overall, the staff is very friendly and make everything easy to understand. As long as I live in the area and they continue to take my vision insurance, I will continue to use them for my eye doctors.

I went to Alan Optical on 11/10/25 and although I only went over my frame allowance by $25 I was charged and paid (stupidly) $807. I thought...well maybe there will be an adjustment when I get the EOB. The EOB dated 11/25/25 says I owe $375 so I call Alan Optical and they say, oh, this was billed wrong. We just dont know how much we owe you. We will work on it. They apparently rebill because on 3/9/26 I get a NEW EOB saying I owe $80. I call Alan Optical and they say the EOB is wrong and tbe insurance company (who THEY contracted with) is notoriously difficult to deal with. I explain my frustration and I'm told basically to go pound sand. She literally told me "you're acting like this is my fault." I have emailed both EOBs and made calls and I have to deal with the fact that I got ripped off. Beware.
