This target is great!!! unless you want to be able walk down aisles that aren't blocked by them putting shipments away at 12pm Or Get food that won't go bad within 1 day Or Have expiration dates on meat (I've never seen this before at a grocery store, even the employee I asked thought it was wild) Two days ago I ordered valentines for my sons school and they gave me an open box with half missing lol. Today my pick up order had rotten peppers and bananas in it. I shopped at the north haven target once a week when I lived in New Haven. Since moving every other time I go to the Meriden target I ask myself why. Save yourself and go spend more at stop and shop for groceries, at least they won't be rotten the very next day. read more

I am a huge fan of target. This target is clean and pretty well stocked. I do find some difficulty with groceries, although their selection is pretty Good. Some issues with getting dairy, produce, or meat, but that is to be expected since this is not Exclusively a grocery store. Returns are super easy. The curbside pick up is great. This will continue to be my go to for most things. read more

I really love my Target in my home town ! Clean and they have very helpful workers I browsed around to see if I needed anything today ,but really came for the pizza . Pizza Hut Express is so yummy ! I walk around with my carriage and snack on pizza slices (individual size) what more can you ask for ,lol. The fruit looked really good today ,so I did decide on a Pomegranate and strawberries. I had workers ask me down each isle as they stocked if they could help me with anything that I appreciated. Pizza Hut Express didn't have a cheese pizza ready(4.50) ,but in 10 minutes I was able to enjoy that after I snacked on the delicious bread sticks they have (sold separately ) or added as meal for around 2.50 with drink. read more

Stopped in 2 days after Christmas and picked up a few household items. On approaching check out, I realized there were 2 exceptionally long lines of customers. The reason - there was but a single cashier on duty and a solitary self check lane open. I looked at my token items and decided I could live another few days without them and returned them to the shelves. IMHO, there is absolutely no excuse for such poor staffing - ARE YOU LISTENING STORE MANAGER? read more

This Target is just OK. Everytime I go, the entire store is in disarray. They have items falling all over displays, looks like no staff will go over and re-fold clothes that rude people just decide to thow back wherever. I guess it just this store seems messy. The staff is super polite (those that I have encountered so far) and the nice kid at the check out was sweet. I guess this isn't my favorite Target but since it is local, I would go back. I also used to work for a homeless shelter, and I can say this Target makes many many weekly donations to local shelters. For that, I gave it an extra star. read more

The help and service here was horrible, you have immature workers who need to be retrained or let go. Had to get a TV waited for 20 min for someone to help couldn't find anyone and than the two people working at electronics one was "off the clock" playing w the cameras and the other was a "mobile guy only". The quality of this Target has been in steady decline since winter of 2010. Adding the grocery store has just exacerbated the problem. Items are never, ever in stock. Ever. If you see something online or in an ad, there is a high chance it won't be in the store. The women's clothing department used to carry a much better selection; unless you're a size two or need to dress like a teen age girl, there won't be anything here. By adding the grocery store, they condensed the rest of the store. Everything feels crowded and cramped. The staff? Is this the best and most qualified they can come up with when millions of people are out of work? Target used to have really exceptional customer service, now you're lucky if your presence is acknowledged by a grunt. The one in New Britain off of Route 9 is much better. read more

Using Target's Portrait studio has been the single worst experience I've had as a consumer in as long as I can remember. The photographer's are basically teenagers who are barely even trained on using a camera and all of our photos were terrible. However, if that wasn't bad enough, once we got home we were unable to download the high resolution photos that we paid for because of a glitch with the website. We went back to the store but the employees were unable to help us. They said they'd have a manager contact us, but the manager never did. For weeks we called trying to get help and no one ever called back. Eventually the time period to use our photos (these were Christmas photos) passed and we were never able to use them. We finally called the corporate number for Target to ask for a refund, but they transferred us to another company who thought we had our picture's taken at JC Penny (I think the Target studio is really contracted out to this other lousy company, and they also do work for JC Penny). Once we started asking for a refund the miraculously got someone on the phone who was able to resolve the issue, but by this point (January) we didn't have a use for our holiday photos. They stubbornly refused to issue the refund, stating that we technically now had access to the photos and they didn't guarantee that we'd be able to download our Christmas photos in time for Christmas (we took these photos weeks in advance of the holiday). I will absolutely never use them (or JC Penny, since they're the same company apparently) again. read more

Very poor customer service! I asked an associate where I could find a particular product; her reaction implied that I am disrupting her conversation with another associate. I think Target has some good brands; however a big part of the brand is your people. Please teach them how to handle customers. read more

Here we go AGAIN: Target has the worst / contradictive internet search info results. Items will state: in store, EVEN mention the aisle #. Then to only discover that it's a online purchase only. In fact, most of what you search for is never in store. The only way of knowing what is actually available in store, is to physically go into the store & keep your fingers crossed. read more

Went yesterday & OMG talk about getting SO ANNOYED!!! Every single isle shelves were empty from cheese's, freezer stuff. I was talking to other shoppers and we ALL AGREED that they couldn't find 1/2 of thing's they were looking for. & we kept running into each other & 1 asked me if I knew where sausage's were! I said I do as I just put in my cart. Target in Meriden NEVER WAS LIKE this. I always loved shopping here. I asked someone if it was me OR they feel same way & 3 different women said it's been getting worse. 1st time I been here in months due to being hospitalized few month's. TARGET PLEASE go around & see what I'm saying+ other shoppers. I love you please fix these issues Oh & I really was writing down 4 rain check's until it came to wayy too many. read more

I kind of make it a point not to review big chain stores like this because they are all essentially the same and you know you aren't going to have a stellar experience, but my shopping trip and interactions with sales people here was so APPALLING here I am yelping away. I know my opinion will never be heard by anyone at Target but a girl can hope. I was there to hit up day after Christmas sales, and they actually were having some great deals, all Christmas stuff was 50% off. Sales people were their typical wandering-texting-on-their-phones-too-good-to-help-out-customers..but whatever. When I got up to the check out, Line 5 to be exact (name rhymes with Shmicilla), the girl was ridiculously slow ringing out items..once again-whatever. When some of the Christmas items rang up full price I stopped her and informed her they were in the Clearance section. She stared at me blankly and eventually replied "I don't have a walkie talkie so I can't do anything about it." Well I told her that wasn't acceptable and I really wanted my items and would like them to honor the sale price posted. Ten minutes later she came back from personally checking the sale section. She confirmed that the items were in the clearance section but said they probably weren't going to be marked down until later in the day. I again explained to her that they should honor THEIR MISTAKE. She again stared at me blankly. I asked her to get somebody that could figure it out. Eventually a manager came over and instead of speaking to me she explained to the cashier that the item was not supposed to be clearance because it was a designer paper good and it had to be sent back to the manufacturer and it wasn't allowed to be on sale. She then walked away without ever so much as acknowledging their mistake or thanking me for my patience...completely unacceptable once again. To top it all off she folded every singly gift bag I was purchasing, and essentially ruined half of them. I was also purchasing a $100 Neiman Marcus line dress. She rang it up and promptly handed it back to me- didn't even offer to put it in a bag. WTF? I guess I was just supposed to walk out carrying it. Bottom Line: I do love Target and their merchandise. I do NOT love dealing with their staff. Horrendous customer service. Side Note: My little sister mistakingly left her wallet behind at customer service. When she called the store to see if they still had it she was placed on hold for an excessive amount of time. When they returned to the line she was rude and dismissive. Because we are in the middle of a snow storm she is unable to retrieve her wallet tonight and informed the customer service person that her mother would be there in the morning to claim the wallet. She was rudely laughed at and told that they wouldn't release the wallet to anyone unless the person looked the same as her ID...ummm seriously WTF? let's use some common sense here people. If the person claiming the wallet has a driver's license with the same address and last name, let's assume its on the up and up. read more

I am disappointed in this place, my friend works on her feet all day and has a bad ankle and one of the workers told her that she couldn't use because of an incident that happened a month ago, mind you there are people who don't need it are taking them then leave them all over the place and I don't think it's fair to condemned her for one mishap. read more

my bf bought a bike online to be picked up at this store. not only did the site say it would come fully assembled, we called to confirm & was told it would be. upon arriving, it was not, & was offered the floor model, with a flat tire. we decided to wait & come back the next day. still not assembled. unacceptable. what amateur, disrespectful customer service. read more

big box store, what you expect is what you get. lots of parking, friendly staff even around christmas. impressed by the quick check out lines on this visit, which offset the delay caused by my big box haze.. any time i go into these big stores it's like my mind is erased and i need to wander the aisles. check out the 'walking taco' trailmix. jumba juice smoothy mix. crazy cheap dvds with 4 movies on them. socks with a hamburger on it. one direction puffy stickers for a buck. am i high? read more

I don't fall into the issues some have previously stated. Every trip to target I have a great experience. Employees are helpful & at times will personally show me where a item is located. They normal have shelves stock but if not asking if something is stored in the back or if it can be found at a closer target isn't a problem when asking for assistance. read more

I've never experienced the negative issues some of the other people have posted about this Target. I go there 3-4 times a week and it's because of the cleanliness, customer service, and availability of merchandise that I do. Compared to like big chain stores in this area, it's 100% better. I also think the addition of the grocery department was a brilliant idea and another reason why I go to this store often. read more

i agree that this location has gone down hill. my biggest reason for not shopping at any Target is simply their corporate policy does not allow solicitors outside the stores. this includes the Marines annual "Toys for Tots". if exceptions can't be made for that great effort, then they are not worth my time read more

Not a bad place. Found a ton of great stuff here in the past. It seems to be a place where all the nicer people in town go to, but being next to the mall and close to broad street, I make sure to keep my doors locked and nothing expensive visible in the back seat. Staff is so so, cashiers seem nice, but floor staff never really seem to be around. Product prices are great and there is plenty of produce (of all things). Furniture layout was a bit confusing to me. Went in to grab a leather office chair (which I bought years ago and was looking for another) and it was tucked away in the corner next to the other office chairs and only took up about a 3 foot shelf. I was thinking that it would be in the chair isle with the other furniture, but it was very difficult to find. Other than that, I have mostly come here for board games and electronics and always found what I was looking for. Condition of the store was pretty neat too. Definitely one of the better places to go to if you live in the Meriden area. read more

well I shop using coupons and the Target internet coupons.shop to give away purchases to clients who can not afford health and beauty aides, donate to military families and elderly on low income budgets. The LOD leader on duty.every Monday I guess that's what they call her.at this Target..........checks thru all my bags, reads and reads every coupon, and again digs thru the already packaged bags. At times she makes me go back to find the other item which this lazy individual looks up in computer to see if it is the right one...I explain the sign was placed in front of these as the free item.NOPE NOT right.go back and get this one!!!! Today I called Target and got a call center in Nicaragura??!!@Q@@!@ I asked to speak with a person located here in US after 10 minutes call was transferred .........At numerous times these cashiers ring up wrong stuff, tell you the item is not on clearance that someone must have put it there despite the fact that 10 may be on the clearance shelf..........and get this they DONT KNOW WHO THERE MANAGER OR DM IS???!!!! Today I called WALMART and told the manager of my coupon usage to families in need....he said he would assist in using the coupons and matching Target prices.so good bye Target of Meriden.keep your low class, disrespectful, cashiers and LOD people.......perhaps when they are in unemployment line.I will be donating to their charity.......... read more
