I stumbled upon this shop and was glad I stopped in. Friendly and cheery service. Lovely items well organized and displayed. The back room area is filled with candies and other unique food items. There are some really nice furniture pieces and prices are reasonable. I picked up 2 storage trunks and was told any purchase over $60 receives a 10 percent discount! Excellent. Nice place to stop in to see if anything strikes your fancy. Small private parking lot. read more

DO NOT consign your collectibles here and expect an amicable business relationship. Very unpleasant experience with rude , dishonest, greedy people with shady business practices. I was assured transparency when I opened my account. I asked for details on my account and they tried to intimidate me several times. Month after month my items were missing and very little, to zero money on my account. If I wanted to donate my items I would have chosen a reputable charity. I give respect and I expect the same. Luckily, I took photos of my items and was able to squeeze some respect out of them. read more

I've been a customer of Cindy's Unique Shop since 2015, and it's truly my favorite store. Whenever I'm shopping for gifts or home décor, this is the first place I go. The selection is unique, the quality is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. I have quite eclectic taste, so it's rare to find items that match my style in typical stores. But at Cindy's, I've found everything from a stunning handmade Japanese tapestry and a Chinese enamel cabinet to Portuguese crystal, Waterford and Belleek pieces from Ireland, and whimsical finds like a brass monkey lamp and a brass elephant table (yes, I actually own both--LOL). You simply won't find this kind of variety anywhere else in the area. I've also consigned items with Cindy's and found the process straightforward and professional. The contract is clear, detailed, and easy to follow--they even provide a copy for your records. If any questions come up, a quick call to their friendly, helpful staff always clears things up. What I especially value is that this small business is woman-owned and family-run. That really matters to me, and it makes supporting them all the more meaningful. read more

Cindy's Unique Shop - Thrift Stores Near Me - Wallingford, Connecticut

Fun thrift store to walk around! Every area of the store has a different theme and so many cute trinkets. You really have to dedicate at least an hour to see everything Cindy has to offer! I love that there is a clearance rank! I found some cute spice jars for a BOGO deal and a discounted cake server! So cute! After getting those items and a vintage canister I still managed to spend less than $20! I also love how she does live auctions on Wednesdays! I watched one recently and everything was selling so quick and the process was extremely organized! I also love how she incorporates local venders into her shop (ie. crafters, artists, etc.) I can't wait to come back! If you love thrifting this is the place for you! read more

Great selection and very organized. Very fair prices. Enjoyed shopping. Easy to find with a large parking lot.

I had been going to thrift stores, consignment shops, and goodwill stores with my sister who is visiting from out of states. After going through all of these places, you see the same old same old....old vases that were from florist shops that all look the same in every place, things with cracks, worn, and poor quality. Then we walked in Cindy's Unique Shop and I was overwhelmed with all of the unique treasures of all shapes and sizes all throughout the store. Everything was in pristine condition and so reasonably priced. What a treasure chest of a store! And then there is all kinds of delicious candy in the back. The place is absolutely the best consignment shop I have ever been too. The staff is extremely friendly and it is very comfortable to walk around and browse throughout the store. I love it! read more

She has a beautiful display but not happy she didn't take my items. I see things in there thst aren't as nice as my items and she takes those. Sometimes they say "oh that won't sell". How do you know that one certain person won't like it. Disappointed read more

Totally understand the quaintness of these 'Unique' shops but when are you open? The only picture of a pink handwritten sign is from 2016!??? I'll upgrade the rating after I visit this shop. Thanks read more

Love, love, LOVE this shop!!! Cindy is a super nice woman and her shop is BEAUTIFUL!!! There is a great variety of everything and the prices are very reasonable. There is no pressure to buy and it is very pleasant to just stop in and see the new things she gets in. The inventory is always changing because she takes items in on consignment. It is a great place to buy a nice, original gift without having to fight the crowds at the mall. I have, and will continue to recommend Cindy's Unique Shop! read more

Stopped in just to browse and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of pretty things to look at. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a little parking lot on the side which is nice and convenient. It seems like they are reasonably priced and circulate through stock frequently as many of the pieces had on hold or sold tags on them. Fun place! read more

A nice little shop with lots of variety. Jewelry, furniture, glassware, and linens, all in good condition and reasonably priced. The woman working the register was pleasant and helpful without trying too hard/pressuring us to buy. I'd definitely come back here. There's a small parking lot on the side of the building. read more

The fact that the word "Unique" is used in the name of this shop, is certainly no accident. My wife and I have grown tired of the low quality overpriced "housewares" offered in the retail stores of our throw away world. This shop is on our list of things to do most weekends, and we never leave empty handed. Everything from saltshakers, to living room furniture can be found here. Simple everyday use items, and rare display pieces. Figurine collections, glass ware, dish sets, china sets, silverware, stained glass pieces. And much more, than can be encompassed in an online review. It is all painstakingly inspected, cleaned and displayed. Which brings me to the best part of the place. The displays. The items are not merely shelved here. You are not left to fend for yourself, or to figure it out on your own at this shop. Each piece is placed next to another with a relationship in mind that catches your eye, and keeps you looking. Each piece of furniture, each cabinet, each shelf, accentuated with pillows, throws, lamps, and area rugs, all relate to one another in a manner that makes sure you can picture these items in your home, helping you to experience how you might feel about them being there. The displays here do not just catch the eye, but direct you throughout the store, and orchestrate an unspoken order of things. There are very few places that have such a grasp on the art of display, and fewer clientele, that understand the work, thought, and experience that go into such things. Add to all of that the knowledgeable, pleasant staff, that offer a truly warm welcome upon your arrival, and a fond farewell upon your departure, and the entire experience is certainly a full one. I have lived in the area all of my life, and I have yet to shop anywhere, that offers such a serene, pleasant, and complete shopping experience. I cannot say enough about the place. Well done ladies, and congratulations on the new location! read more
