Upon checkout even though I gave my own name & number the girl somehow checked me out under the clothes my sister sold which was only $8 for in store credit so I still had to pay upfront for the clothes I wanted to buy at Plato's and my sister's name was on the receipt. I admit I should have looked where I was signing and that it wasn't my name. And then my sister got my $35 cash for the clothes I brought it. This mixup could have easily been avoided by asking for our ID's again when checking out.

What was disappointing was that she didn't even look at the items or ask whether I had receipts or documentation to verify the purchases. For example, I brought in a pair of Gucci sneakers with the original receipt in the box, along with everything intact from the original purchase at Saks. I also had several long-sleeve polos and shirts from Burberry, Ralph Lauren, and Banana Republic. One of the reasons I specifically wanted to sell my items here was to support a local business. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed before I was even given an opportunity to show what I had. I hope the owners will consider retraining staff on how to approach situations like this. Even if the store ultimately decides not to accept certain items, there is a much more welcoming and professional way to communicate that with a customer. What a disappointing experience, and what feels like a huge loss for this location. After being a longtime customer, I won't be returning.

It is non-hygienic to say the very least, not to mention leaving no accountability for potentially defective merchandise. If they wish to be in the business of reselling previously worn merchandise, they should define themselves as a thrift or consignment store. I was simply attempting to do an even exchange and when I returned with their tags and receipt, the store I visited didn't carry the size I needed. I looked this company up and learned they filed bankruptcy which makes complete sense given my above mentioned experience. I called the District Manager to communicate my concerns and never received a call back. Their extreme and stringent return policy makes it clear that this store does not want to do returns and further that they do not stand behind their merchandise. I will never shop in any one of these stores again for any reason under any circumstances. Mr. Beezos from Amazon just keeps laughing I'm sure because he knows retail stores like this will continue to do themselves in with practices like those described above. The CEO of the company overseeing this mess of a retail chain should not be surprised when sales continue to dwindle and they face a second bankruptcy in the future.

Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day.
