Disappointing Customer Service and Management Response I have been a loyal Target customer for many years, which made my recent experience at the La Verne Target especially disappointing. While checking out, I politely asked the cashier if the remainder of my purchases could be added to my current transaction. Instead of receiving a courteous explanation, I was met with what I perceived to be a dismissive attitude, an unfriendly glare, and a rude tone. I was simply told I would need to use a different card. It wasn't the answer that upset me--it was how I was treated. To make matters worse, the cashier pushed my purchases aside without placing them into bags or handling them with care. Hoping the situation could be resolved, I asked to speak with the manager, Rosa. Unfortunately, that interaction left me feeling even more disappointed. Rather than addressing my concerns about the cashier's conduct, Rosa focused on questioning the employee's identity. I provided the name displayed on the employee's name badge, which I had personally confirmed before leaving the checkout area. Rosa told me that was not the employee's name and asked me to describe what the employee looked like. When I asked what the employee's actual name was so I could accurately identify the individual, I was told that information was private. I then asked why employees were wearing name badges that did not match the names she was referencing, and she stated that employees do not necessarily wear their actual names. I understand that Target may allow employees to use preferred names or aliases for privacy and safety reasons. However, that was never explained to me during our conversation. Instead, I was left feeling confused, dismissed, and as though my concerns were not being taken seriously. What was most disappointing was not the initial interaction with the cashier, but the lack of empathy and professionalism shown when I attempted to report the issue. At no point did I feel that my concerns were acknowledged or that anyone genuinely attempted to resolve the situation. I left the store feeling unheard, disrespected, and undervalued as a customer. I have already contacted Target Guest Relations at corporate and hope this experience is reviewed so future customers are treated with the courtesy and professionalism they deserve. I have never given a review for a Target, but this one is exceptional. My mom and I were buying all sorts of different things and we didn't know where the heck we were going. I asked a lady by customer service where something was. I found it. Then we went back there and asked her where the next thing was, she told us, and we went and found, it so on and so forth. She told us when we are ready to check out to go to customer service and would allow us to bypass the long lines. My mom uses a walker, so it was greatly appreciated. Turns out she was the store manager... super nice lady! It's worth it to pay a little more than Walmart. Place is pretty nice inside. read more

I've always loved this Target and the employees here. I've lived in the area for 22 years and shop here regularly without issues. Typically I'm just doing normal shopping, but today I decided to grab some food as well. Unfortunately, my experience at the Pizza Hut/food counter was really disappointing. The employee working, Jesus, was noticeably rude from the start. A mom and her daughter were ahead of us, and when she asked for popcorn, he abruptly told her to wait. When she tried to add a cheese pizza for her daughter, he responded with, "grab it and put it down then." They ended up apologizing to him before leaving, which was honestly surprising given his tone. When my boyfriend stepped up and greeted him politely, asking how he was doing, he replied, "doesn't even matter." He quickly scanned our breadsticks and gave us the total, but when we asked to add a couple more items, he said something along the lines of, "oh great, you guys aren't going to make my life any easier." He then tossed our food on the counter and told us to "have an okay f%#ing day." This was honestly shocking and not at all the level of service I've come to expect from this location. You know how when you see a long line, you wonder what's going on, whether it is a popular concert, or a new book or record that just dropped? Well, this morning I arrived at Target at 8 AM before work, and there was a line of about 20 people. I just couldn't help myself and asked what it was all about? Apparently something to do with Pokémon?! (I might've misheard). I love that people have hobbies! I laughed to see all of the bathing suits and bikinis that are out on display now. I can't imagine that right now because it's 44° outside and rain predicted, but they did look cute! I usually get a cart, but thought I only needed cough drops so it didn't grab one. I ended up buying shampoo, toothpaste, laundry detergent, come and sponges, and then wished I had a cart. Lesson learned! Nobody greeted me, and the cashier barely talked to me, but not everyone is a morning person and I'm getting over laryngitis anyway so I probably shouldn't talk lol. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes and everyone I saw was busy stocking shelves and what not so it's a good day at Target. read more

Overall we've been pretty happy with this Target location. Good amount of parking (free). Usually have updated stock and good selection of products. Mostly clean and organized. Service is hit or miss depending upon Target staff member who helps you. Value is pretty good for most items. read more

I visited this Target for the recent Pokémon release and was extremely disappointed by how the event was managed. While waiting in line, I observed multiple customers who had already purchased large quantities of Pokémon products being allowed to get back in line and purchase more before many customers had even received their first items. Several people were carrying full bags of merchandise and were repeatedly allowed back through the line. What made the situation even more frustrating was that manager Kenny was walking up and down the line encouraging people to take additional Pokémon-related items such as puzzles and luggage tags, specifically stating that they would not count toward the four-item limit because he "just wanted them gone." This gave the clear impression that the focus was on moving inventory as quickly as possible rather than ensuring customers had a fair opportunity to purchase products. When I asked Kenny about customers repeatedly getting back in line and purchasing more items before others had received their first allocation, he told me that they do not want to dedicate the resources needed to enforce purchase limits and that they simply want the product out. He stated that they do not care who gets it. I explained that this type of approach heavily favors resellers and scalpers while making it difficult for families and collectors to obtain products at retail price. I also explained that my son has autism and loves Pokémon, and that waiting in line overnight is not a realistic option for our family. Rather than showing any understanding, I was essentially told that people had been waiting since 11 PM and that if I wanted products, I should do the same. Limited inventory is not the issue. Most customers understand that popular products sell out. The issue is that management appeared unconcerned about allowing repeat purchases before all customers had an opportunity to make their first purchase. A simple policy of one transaction per household until everyone in line has had a chance would have created a much fairer experience. Target has every right to choose its policies, but this experience made it feel like families, children, and genuine collectors were far less important than simply clearing inventory as quickly as possible. Kenny's comments and attitude were especially concerning because they raise broader questions about how the store is operated. If management openly says they do not care who gets the product and are unwilling to enforce even basic fairness during a highly anticipated release, it makes customers wonder what other standards are being overlooked. It also raises concerns about how employees are treated and whether the same lack of care extends beyond this event. I hope corporate reviews how these releases are handled and considers implementing more consistent and fair purchase-limit enforcement in the future. read more

This place used to be one of the better targets but the other day they let a couple of those kids with the large electric bikes come into the store with their bikes, honking their horns as they rode/ walked em as well as shout Asian harassment remarks at me. I went to Target the day before Christmas eve 2024 and purchased an $100 American Express gift card for my son. He opened the card and found a scratch in front of the card and the back of it. Right were the 4 digit pin should be. I called the toll free number in the back of the card and they asked me to Email my Driver's license and mail with my address on it and my D.O.B. So I went back to Target in La verne ca. and was told by the Manager "NOT" to call the toll free # on the back of the card, to instead contact Target gift card services and there's NOTHING THE STORE CAN DO. I called the Target gift card services and they stated TO CALL THE TOLL FREE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD..??? This whole experience feels LIKE A COMPLETE SCAM!!! I have never been treated with such utter disrespect from an employee like this. His name is Jesus, works at the food station in Target. Don't know if he was having a bad day but doesn't excuse him from how he was treating customers. He was telling a mom and daughter in front of me that they have to wait to get popcorn and then she adds on a pizza and he threw his arms up and told her to "grab it and put it here then". I had to hold back from saying something, then I ask how his days going to try and switch things up when he tells me it doesn't matter anyways. I order a bag of popcorn and a hot dog and he says "oh you aren't going to make this easy on me". For a hot dog and popcorn that are premade? Then he cusses at me using the F word and continues to be upset and throw my food on the counter. Horrible employee that shouldn't be working at such a big coorporation. Just went to Target LaVerne to pick up a book the app said they had. The young man in the book department spent quite a bit of time looking for the kid book I wanted for my 7 year old grandson. He found it after searching a few places. I should have gotten his name because I have not received such good customer service in a really long time! This target is always crowded. Opening: crowded, middle of day: crowded, end of day: crowded. People are fighting for parking spots. The drive up pick up spots are never open and there's lines of cars waiting to park in them, which in turn leave you unable to pull your parked car out. The layout of this store is also terrible. It's not like other targets, so you struggle to find what you're looking for. read more

I am at Target La Verne. I purchased a $100. gift card for my husband for his 70th birthday. it didn't work. They told me they were not responsible and I was out of luck for the $100. Apple also said they were not responsible. Please do not make purchases at Target La Verne as they are not responsible. Robert one of the managers was not helpful at all and said they accept no responsibility for actions that occur at their store. I wonder how many people this has to happen to before a class action is brought to them. I am now out $100 just for being a Target shopper. I picked up an item using drive up method and the male employee made a very inappropriate sexual joke when I told him "oh, you came fast".

My wife and our 4 month old baby went into target tonight and bought a bunch of groceries including some Bens rice. Once they got home and I went to throw the rice in the microwave I realized that the package had a small slice in it and had a TERRIBLE ODOR coming from it. I looked closer and realized it was COMPLETELY BLACK inside. I opened it up and it looked like the whole package had BLACK MOLD all the way through. The smell was unbearable!!! We contacted the store manager and told him our concerns and how he should go immediately and check for other rice packages like ours and he had no worries at all and pretty much brushed us off. Any store that is selling a product with BLACK MOLD in it should immediately be searching for other products just like this and be taking care of their customers concerns a lot better!!!!! I used to visit this Target store several times each week. The customer experience is dreadful. Target needs to decide if this store is a fulfillment center or a store where customers are looking for items to purchase. It is virtually impossible to walk through the store. Every aisle is blocked either by carts with product waiting to be shelved or employees filling online orders. The store layout and arrangement of products is also a problem. Like items are haphazardly displayed throughout the store. Clothing, kitchen items accessories. Just about impossible to find what you want. Then you get to the checkout. The self checkout is available but only one actual check stand is open. Seniors and people with large orders have difficulty at the checkout. It's not hard to understand why target shares are down. I rarely go to target anymore because nothing is worth the frustration of shopping in this store. read more

The line for pick up and return is basically the same line. I would not done a store pick up if I had an idea of how long this line was going to be. It's madness at this store, the staff is not to be blamed for, it's the lack of management. Some staff just showed up to help the line and navigate people to either return or get the pick up items ready since there were 20+ people crowded in a long line down the aisle along with shopping carts pushed around by other customers passing by. Where is the store manager? Who is here to take charge and help out? I seriously would not come back again for this madness. I would give 5 star for the cleanness and customer service by the employees, but managers, hello? This is a great Target. Very well organized, stocked, and aisles wide to accommodate my wheelchair. Want to rave about the bathroom as a wheelchair user. The entry door is lightweight and makes it easy to get in and out. The handicapped stall was nice and roomy. Easy access sinks, and they even had a pull down step to accommodate children.
