This target location is often overlooked for the merchandise I seek out, so I know it's a go to for things that are sold out elsewhere. The service desk employees are pleasant, responsible, and attentive. Self checkout is always fast and efficient, and when you ask where location of an item is you will always get help. A little understaffed but that falls on the management, the team here is one of the best at any target in the city. I wish Target corporation would put a little more money into this location, it's a little older, and needs a little refresh, and the employees work here certainly deserve it because they treat clients far better than other locations. read more

Target's main appeal in the past is that it is Targét: slightly better than the Walmart. My experience at this Westchase location says the gap has definitely narrowed between the two brands. I imagine we're close to the Road Warrior apocalyptic wasteland scenario already, so we all better get ready for the Sad Boy chained to the front fender of the lead marauder's nitrotruck. I like military efficiency on errands because there is only so much time you can waste on buying batteries and other small consumer staples of apocrypha with the marketing geniuses trying to force you to go up and down a planned maze of other aisles (trying to sell you last minute impulse purchases so you spend more in their stores) as you try to get to the register. Too, when you get to the register there is also a running clock on how long it should take to ring up each customer and get the line gone. Take extra time to tell me I am pretty, fine. But beyond that move it, move it. I was delighted to find only a short line standing between me and getting on with the rest of my life. Delight faded into madness slowly and all at once, at the same time. The one teenager working looked like he was surly and you can rarely actually see that from a distance of five feet so it was relatively intense. He seemed to struggle significantly with ringing up and getting out the person in front of me. Things started out fine, but then I asked for a plastic bag for my stuff which could be used with those handles to conveniently carry things and then be repurposed into a bag that carries other things later on. Apparently this was the complication that toppled the house of cards in Target's operations. He sorted through everything - painfully slowly - in his little cubby under the register only to find no bags? Without explaining anything he just took off into the store, leaving me alone for nearly ten minutes with increasingly frustrated women behind me wondering what happened and lady, I don't know either. I wanted the bag for easy carrying if this was a simple thing to obtain - I did not need to wait an interminable period, I could survive carrying things sans bag. I see the guy chatting with other workers. It seems like something is being slow walked. He disappears. He reappears. I see him go talk to other workers. Finally he brings back a bag I can see just by eyeballing it from a distance that it is still way too small for my large (hey ladies) item. It is clearly a smol bean. He rips the bag ALL the way down the seam line as he tries to stuff the item in. No apology for wasting all that time and coming up entirely empty on solutions. Again, just jets off before I can even say don't worry about it. Returns again after quite some time with finally the right size bag. He throws my item in the bag bouncing it off the floor rather than carefully putting it in there. I think there were several different opportunities for more than middlingly poor customer service in a store that was not very crowded, even in a store where the registers and bags were not made entirely of hornets. I could have just stayed home in my underpants on the bean bag chair and ordered this off amazon if Jeff Bezos could get with the program and just point and shoot rocket launched packages from drones into my chimney like a hammered Santa Claus with military-industrial complex ambitions that only rear their head after too much rye. Then we will all never need to go into a store ever again and we won't even need bags since the item will be conveniently in, on, or near our chimneys at home already. read more

You know. I love to come to this Target Store. Except, there is no chairs in most of changing rooms. Lucky me, I found 2. However, these doors won't close. Arrrrgggghhhh. I had an incident as I walked into a room with a lady about to exit. Thank goodness. She was dressed to impress. I apologized profusely. Now, I want to blame it on Target for failing to provide secured environment. This store is tucked away from lots of other crazy things on the Westminster Road. This is why I love to shop here - it's like an oasis. I could literately gain 1,000 steps by parking near the door and walk to Krispy Kreme to get one donut (I can afford just one). I guess by the time I finished my shopping at Target, the calories already burned off. Ha! The craziest time is during holiday shopping season. A product that I purchase regularly, about 1 to 2 times a month, from this location, was noticeably lower volumed than usual. Because it is a consumable beverage I called the store, seeking to notify food/bev department, to see if I could return at a alter date since my drive to return the product would be over 45 minutes. When I called the agent refused to connect me to a manager. I did not inform the agent the purpose of the call. I called back,, and again, the agent refused to connect me to a manager and hung up. I have since been connected to Target HDQ, who accepted notice; as well as the acutal manufacture/bottling company, Firebird Cocktails . The concern was that the item, an alcoholic beverage, had a tampered re-seal, lowered volume, & sediment in the bottle. I had not opened the bottle nor consumed any of the beverage. The bottle went from Target custody, my point of purchase, to my home. This was why I wanted to notify the distributing store. The bottle of wine that appeared to have been tampered/opened, and that was the reason for my call. read more

What's not to love about Target? This location is further from my home, but they seem to have more items that I need in stock versus the one on San Felipe. I typically always do curbside which is hit or miss. Like today there isn't a cloud in the sky but the sign at the drive up area says to wait at the entrance of the building due to inclimate weather. The absolute worst target I've ever been to in my entire life. I love going to target, now I feel like target put a really bad taste in my mouth and it's so disappointing because target is my go to. There was a guy, I believe his name was Chris in the return area who was really grumpy and I made a comment and said "hey, don't be so down it's Friday" trying to cheer him up. As I was leaving the store I saw him by the carts next to as it seemed to be one of his friends. This Chris guy had short brown hair, White, in young 20's, and wearing a red mask. As I was leaving, I looked at him and I said "I hope you have a better weekend" and started to walk away just being super cheerful, As I got close to the exit door I heard the young man tell me to "shut the fuck up." Target for anything you cannot get at HEB. They also have a partnership with Boots the Chemist from the UK, how handy for me. Their appliances are "The Dogs Bollocks". They stock a combined toaster thingy that toasts, poaches your eggs and cooks your bacon all at the same time. My most frequented Target because it's the closest one to me. I used to come here a few times a week just because I was taking Salsa classes nearby, but not anymore. Now I come here once every few weeks. If you're thinking about going to WalMart on Dunvale, forget about it. Come here instead. Faster check outs, much friendlier and helpful workers. And most likely, they'll have whatever you need from WalMart (unless you're shopping for groceries). I usually go check out their clearance electronics and I had found some great prices stuff that were deeply discounted (50% - 75% off). But do know that if anything ever goes on clearance on here, they get snagged real quick. So, be quick. I've done a few online pick up here; and unlike WalMart, the online pick up process is quick and painless. So yeah, if you live in the area, forget WalMart and the craziness that goes on in that store. Come to Target!! read more

People go to Target mainly to avoid Walmart. Here it went tonight. Johnson Johnson Bain Aid is having a special in a stand display. Buy any 3 combination and get a free first aid kit bag. When checking out, the cashier we were in were unmanned. We looked around and there was this lady walking with a smile. Not a word. She started scanning. Not a word. Then the total. We asked if the first aid bag came out to be free. She tweaked around and said you need to buy 3 qualifying items. We said we followed that direction. She became annoyed. We said if the advertisement is wrong they should change it. She became more annoyed. She called her manager. The manager came out and did the same thing. She said we needed to purchase qualifying item. We said but the ad stand says "any 3 items" and we picked 3 items from there. If the ad is wrong, which it is, change it. Or, you can at least take responsibility and apologize. We thought Target is Target but we found out Target in the hood is Targeted hood. The Walmart worker next door found their way here. I came here to buy Apples-to-Apples for a party. My roommate and I had been scoping it out for a while, as we like to entertain. On several separate occasions, we saw the Party Box Edition for $19.99 on the shelves, including the day I went to purchase it. I go to the cashier, and it rings up as $25.99. I hate to be cheap and haggling over $6, but really? So, I pointed this out to her. She had some guy come over and check it with a special, handheld scanner. She said, "Yeah, it says $25.99 on the shelf, too." I acknowledged that it may be ringing up that way, but the shelf said otherwise. She dismissed me by saying, "It was probably put in the wrong place then. The scanner tells us what the shelf says and what the price should be." Love this Target. Their layout took a little getting used to, but everything is relatively easy to find. It's your typical Target - I haven't encountered any problems with guest services when picking up an online order. There's always plenty of cashiers on deck so I've never encountered long lines either. The past two times I've been, it looked like they were either re-stocking or redoing some aisles. Decent relatively new location that I tend to frequent because it's right off Westheimer and frequently on my path. The worst part has to be accessing it, as the two entrances/exits are just ridiculously hard to deal with considering traffic and the fact that anyone going anywhere in the shopping center (Chick Fil A, Castle Dental, Payless Shoes) is scrambling to get in or out with you. The staff is generally helpful, the environment is a massive upgrade from the Wal-Mart just up the road at Dunvale, and everything is cleanly laid out. If anything is on sale, it goes quickly, but then again, this is a big box store. My only issue is that there are rarely enough registers open (if you have 10, why only have 2-3 open at a time?), but other than that, they are solid. read more

I finally drove all way out to the store and there wasn't a sole in the electronics department. I finally found an associate "Darrell" who was the ONLY helpful person in this entire experience. Just left this store disappointed at how one of their employees stereotyped me. I'm a small business owner and came to this store to buy some trading cards and too see what deals they had on the toy section, the bald white gentleman that works in the electronics section started to radio people to keep an eye on me, I heard him and walked up to him to see what the problem was. The employees that helped us were extremely nice and helpful, locating it and helping us load it piece by piece into my car as it was too small to fit the box. This Target is minutes away from the Wal-Mart that is awful that is near by. So I must say it is a step up from their competitor, but overall, it's just not as nice as other Targets around town. I am seldom over in this area anymore, since neither my work or my residence is near here. But during Halloween, I did make the trek along westheimer looking for costume ideas.
