I like this Target location. I somehow keep ending up here every few months or so and they always have what I'm looking for. Definitely a fan of their holiday section here for sure. Very upset after a twin mattress was bought last year. It leaked fiberglass and had no holes! All my daughter did was wash her sheets. She then sat on her mattress waiting. Her skin then became inflamed. She was in pain where she couldn't put on her pants. She cried and is so upset that it is everywhere. Why would Target sell a mattress like this?? With the help of a flashlight, you can see the fiberglass on her mattress that shines like little sparkles. It then got onto her floor and items. There are NO holes in her mattress. This Walmart... I mean, Target, used to be impeccable on all fronts. Over the past few years, it has steadily declined. Employees are scarce. Most days, there is only one checkout line open.... even at busy times. The self-checkout line is typically 10 customers deep and moves very slowly. Employees seem overwhelmed and stressed. Recently and oftenly in the past ive had small issues with a Starbucks worker name Scottie. He ALWAYS drives crazy anytime i have seen him driving , ive been in scare even in the parking lot he speeds he doesn't pay attention and never stops nor waits for pedestrians. But as his employability skills are out of this world HORRIFIC. He makes drinks incorrect but doesn't seem to care, multiple times ive ordered the same drink over and over and every time it is sweeter or not as sweet or darker or lighter it is always something different and always wrong. And ive talked to friends and family and everyone does seem to have the same problems that i do. its been months its going on and i am usually not the kind to complain ever( SO BAD I HAD TO CREATES AN ACCOUNT TO LEAVE REVIEW ) but this is unacceptable i feel , and he should really/ be talked to read more

Horrible is an understatement. The lines at this store are insane. I come here regularly so I know how it can be. Walked in and there were around 10-15 people in line waiting to checkout. I told myself the line would probably shorten by the time I grabbed my things considering it was already 9PM. Grab my things just to walk towards the checkout and see 25 people standing in line. As I got closer in line, I could see that none of the self-checkouts were open. I needed everything I had so I stood in line. It took about 15-20 minutes to finally get checked-out and leave the store. The woman who checked me out was very polite despite the issues the store had. This store itself is lacking in both quality and convenience, which is why it gets 1 star. read more

I bought a gift card from the Target Store in Highland, Indiana for my disabled daughter for over $400/-. She did not use it, so after a few months, during holiday time, I decided to use the gift card at the same Target store myself. After spending 2 hrs, picking items to purchase and standing in line for another hour to go through the cashier, I was told I had a zero balance on the card. The card was untampered and the cashier was the one who scratched the security seal from the gift card. The store manager gave me a guest relations number to call. The guest relations person, Isaac, asked me to email all the info including the receipt number to their research department. Within 20 min, I got a reply back saying that they did not find any suspicious activity on the card and that I should file a police report about it. Most likely it was an automated reply since the reply came back within 20 min. I filed the police report and submitted it to their research department. Within 20 min I got the exact same email back that I should file a police report. I called and listened to the Target automated gift card line and in that it told me that the gift card was used twice the very next day after I had purchased it - once in Illinois and the other time in Denver, Colorado - hundreds of miles away from where I live. This itself is suspicious activity, in my mind. Also the fact that I had the gift card in my possession all this time and the security seal was only removed by the store cashier several months later - this itself is suspicious. I called Target customer relations back and they said that since the research department did not find any suspicious activity, there is nothing they could do about it. Target is not willing to take responsibility and they would not even escalate the matter. They even refused to look at it again. Very frustrating. Please avoid going to Target stores since their service is poor with long lines, and never buy their gift cards since they are subject to scams and Target will not take any responsibility for it. This specific Target seems to need an overhaul. Most Targets are nice. They are clean, well stocked, organized, & easy to shop through. This one had a shortage of stock. Their clothes were a mess & not matched up. If we found something we liked there would only be 1 in 1 size or 1 color. The variety was not good & you just had to cross your fingers it was in your size. The dressing rooms had clothes piled all around like they were creating a fort for battle. The prices on T-shirts were too high at $12.99-$14.99 each. Women's clearance.....WASN'T! The checkouts weren't much better. Stood in line waiting so long while only holding 2 items. There weren't enough checkouts open leaving the ones that were backed up. Other Targets in the area are much nicer....Valpo, Merrillville, etc. This one is a waste of time. read more

Not sure that I would ever go out of my way to come to this target in particular again. It's further from me, which makes it slightly inconvenient, but I continue to keep coming back because this location has more than others. This store has always been disorganized, but the last time I was here, it was very disappointing. Clothes everywhere, shoes thrown around, (in the wrong box for that matter.) Most things at the Starbucks & Pizza Hut are out of stock, and half of the time I come here, two of the four self-checkout registers are broken. The staff has always been very pleasant, but it's a shame that the environment they work in is such a mess. read more

Cashier was rude when I asked for my subtotal before tax, "I don't Know?" Maybe you shouldn't be on the register and the only cashier. I encountered the greatest worker at Highland Indiana location! Janice was working on Christmas Eve and was dressed with holiday spirit! Janice was unbelievable pleasant! She greeted me with such holiday cheer and didn't look to be remotely phased by working on Christmas Eve! I told her they chose the right person to schedule for the holiday because she was nothing short of amazing! I think Target is very lucky to have such an amazing person working their registers for the holidays! Way to go Janice! So happy to have met you and will be shopping here more often because of her! I love Target in general, but this Target needs to pay attention to cleanliness. Specifically, cleanliness in the women's restroom! The women's restroom in this store Is always disgusting! My trip started off ok, yet still gave me an okay impression (This was one of the only times I have been to the Target in Highland, for I usually shop at the one in St.John). The lines for self check out and regular check out were extremely long, and there was not many clothes to shop from in the 'Wild Fable' section. Now the real reason I am writing on here, the security guard. My friend and I browsed the makeup section and didn't find anything we were interested in, so we walked over to the books. Then, as we made our way to the clothes, a security person stops us saying, "Ladies? Where is the makeup at?" Confused, we tell him we don't know what he's talking about. He proceeds to accuse us of stealing. He reason as to why he believed we were stealing was "Yeah, so you guys walked from the makeup to the books?" We assured him that we had no makeup with us, and he walked off saying "Okay, we'll go with that" as if he didn't believe us. My friend and I walked into the clothes section and he would not stop staring at us. The whole situation made us very upset and uncomfortable. It's so unreasonable that security assumed we were stealing when we were literally just walking around the store, trying to peacefully shop. So in other words, is everyone that literally just steps foot into a store stealing? This Target is extremely unprofessional and we will not be coming back. We urge anyone who plans on shopping at this Target/does shop there to quit coming. read more

I used to work at Target. Not this one, but a different one. I worked there for a while and then I left to become a rock and roll rocker man. They sold my music album at Target. It was a great day. What has happened to this store? I was here at 10:00 on a Saturday morning. The store was a complete mess, mostly soft lines and toys. Stuff piled everywhere and on the floor. Stock that needed to be put back sitting in carts. Stock on pallets in aisles or shoved in lingerie. Hardly anyone in the store I noticed. This used to be a great store and very busy. Again this was Saturday morning at 10:00. The store should have been full of customers. I think I'll try St John location and see if it's any better. read more

I have a theory about Target that I need to run some testing on. My hypothesis is this...Target is the best place in America to pick up single women of all ages. Hear me out. Why are women so happy at Target? I'm glad you asked. Faux name-brand fashionable clothing. Thomas O'Brien comforters, towels and furniture. Greeting cards and gift-wrapping. Makeup and other girlie items that make them smell good, look good,etc. We've established that women love Target, but how does this help you; guy who's trying to pick up that cute girl in the shampoo aisle? First, they are happy because they're surrounded by their favorite things and get to spend money, which makes them less defensive. Second, more often than not, they're alone, which means you don't have to deal with their annoying friends. Third, there are countless ways to strike up a conversation without sounding like you're trying to pick them up. For example, "Excuse me. Do you know how this store brand water-based lubricant performs? I'm a name brand guy, but with the economy right now, who isn't looking to save a buck." By doing this, you show that you know about medical stuff, which might mean you're a doctor, and you also show you're responsible enough to shop within a budget. Or another one, "I'm having trouble deciding on a shampoo. I'd love your advice, but they always smell different in the store than when I get them home and into the shower. Do you think you might be able to come back to my place and help me out with this tough decision?" With this, you're showing that you value her opinion and you're letting her know that you take showers, which women appreciate. A couple words of caution. Do not try and pick up women in the frozen food aisle, the pharmacy or the fitness aisle. If you don't believe me, try it out, but I'm not responsible for the consequences. And by the by, there is a fabulous looking girl who works here, with a really perky personality and a beautiful, tight work ethic. I've only been to three Targets in my life. They're generally all the same, with the exception of those that are expanded to include full grocery sections (no, everybody, the relatively limited selection available at this Target and the Munster one does not constitute enough to be a "grocery store" or to make it a "supercenter"). With that being said, this Target upholds the typical standards of having a decent selection of general goods at prices that are higher than Wal-Mart, but not exorbitant by any means. Most of the people who whine about it are spoiled on the excessively low prices they get by buying things that are either coerced out of companies or, with items like electronics and clothing, mass-produced in foreign countries under arguable labor standards. I can't exactly say Target doesn't do the same, but for the most part, I get the feeling the corporation is in general more transparent and benevolent than the behemoth that is Wal-Mart. The store layout is easy to traverse and well-organized; the different departments are aptly sized and the aisles leave enough room for two carts side-by-side (though you might have to get a little close). The staff is friendly enough and will typically help if you have a problem, and there are enough checkout lanes open at any given time to speed your purchases along (a process helped by the fact that people in NW Indiana tend to prefer Wal-Mart anyway, so there's typically less business going on at Target). One particular item of note is that Target has been receiving special-made brand name products, including a line by Shaun White of snowboarding fame, and an interesting new assortment of products by Converse. Aside from these additions, the normal Target selection (especially on clothing) is good, and especially well suited to such customers as business people and college students. They also have a fairly satisfactory supply of extended sizes. I've never eaten there, so I won't comment on that, but the Starbucks is cool. It has no elements that would cause me to recommend it above another Starbucks (and oddly enough, there's one nearly kitty-corner from the Target, in the adjacent strip mall), but I also wouldn't knock it. Basically, if you're in the store and you feel like an expensive cup of joe, by all means, go for it. All-in-all, this Target is a good one. It is clean, organized, and has a comfortable atmosphere. Rarely if ever will you see some rat-nest haired person in a Garth Brooks t-shirt and stained sweatpants while you shop, which I find a blessing of sorts. I'm not elitist, but damnit, if you're going to leave the house, at least pretend to have some class. read more

The shoe department was horrendous. A mound of shoes just on the ground, and you can tell that it has grown over time because this target is not crowded enough to be that messy in a single day. It's obvious that the workers are not doing their job. Now that I think of it, we've been walking around and I've not seen a single employee on the floor. None. Not a good experience, and I won't be coming back. I don't want to buy anything, because I can't find anything in the mess!!!! read more

No "hello" "how are you" or "have a great day" just didn't feel welcomed... But the store itself is clean and easy to find things. Same as all the other Targets I have been to, nothing really special. Sometimes the store is a wreck but large retail stores always seem to have that problem. The employees I have dealt with are generally pretty nice and helpful. When I ask where something is they don't just point but usually take me to the product so that is a bonus. I've been to many stores where they tell you the item is in an aisle and then it's not there and you are SOL because that person that 'helped' you was nowhere to be found. So far I've been pretty happy with the service. This doesn't get a higher rating from me though only because their bathrooms are filthy. Yuck! This review is for the pharmacy only- the rest of the store is just your average Target with good and bad days. The pharmacy: awesome. The pharmacists and techs tried both of my insurances to see if they could get the cost of Tamiflu down, and when it still seemed too high, found a coupon for me to use and gave me a copy in case my spouse or other family members got sick too. I also wanted the generic of Zyrtec-D, but they had ran out and gave me the real Zyrtec for the cost of the generic. It's just these little things- plus the fact that everyone in the pharmacy was very nice. I'm sick, feeling like crap, but I'm in a really good mood because of the pharmacy staff at Target, and I figured I would let you all know that if you're in NWI and need a prescription filled, this location is awesome. read more

Yeah what can I say, shopping at target 3 days before Chriatmas. Long lines and empty shelves.

My recent visit to this Target was by far my worst shopping experience to date. I had a baby 1 week ago, and went to Target to redeem an online deal where if you buy $75 of baby merchandise, you get a $20 gift card. Upon checking out, the cashier scanned my phone, but did not give me the gift card at the end of the purchase. When I asked him to give me the gift card, he stated that he couldn't even remember scanning my phone, and could not issue the gift card despite the fact that it showed on the receipt. He sent me to guest services. At guest services, they also refused to give me the $20 gift card. That is when I noticed that the cashier had also double charged me for $30 diapers. I asked to speak with a manager, who accused me of taking the $20 gift card. I told them that they could search my purse. After arguing with them for 20 minutes, they finally issued the $20 gift card, but did not even fully refund me for the double charge of diapers. They told me they had to process the refund as a return, so I was only refunded $25 instead of $30 for a double charge and mistake of the cashier. After spending 20 minutes that I don't have to spare right now as a new mother, being accused of trying to steal a $20 gift card, and not being fully refunded for a double charge, I will not return to this Target. I am deeply disappointed with the terrible customer service I experienced. read more

So I go to buy a computer today. I look at the displays and asked the sales associate Michael to get me one of those he says there are two in the back. I ask him to get me one he proceeds to reach under the displays and I ask him is that the right one he tells me yes. We go up to the counter and I look at the box and say hay that's the wrong color he says" it just the way it looks on the box" I bring it home and it's not the right computer. So I bring it back and surprise Michael is gone. I get help for the rest of the staff over in electronics and they all look shity and not happy to be there. I don't know what Michaels problem was if he's lazy, stupid or slow but I would not recommend buying anything from the morons in this store. read more
