The prices were very reasonable in comparison to many of the vintage/antique stores in general. I live about an hour away from here but I will come back to see what new stuff they have! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful as well. If you are looking for vintage gems at reasonable prices, they are definitely worth checking out.

Otherwise you get charged the tag price for each. So I threw in something I didn't want and will donate it elsewhere. The cashier flies thru the checkout and keeps the receipt. No visibility into the pricing being put in. Inventory is good except not organized by size. Was only looks for kids stuff and had to go to the very back on one side then cross the chaos to the other side of the store for boys. It's pretty common to find girls stuff in boys, like sweatpants. Literally zero sweatpants on girls or boys side and no tights for girls. Weird. All jeans or denim material. Since two carts can't pass at the same time in an aisle without catching hangers on items etc, I left mine at the end out of the way. I literally got yelled at by a worker because she thought it was abandoned. I didn't even argue! Just looked at the rack she was hanging stuff on. But the chip on her shoulder told me she has a habit of doing this without questioning nearby shoppers. The shoppers, however, all seemed genuinely nice and the parking lot was huge. All in all, I won't be back even if I lived in the area. Too stressful and didn't have what I want despite the massive amounts of items. No toys and very little households btw, some sheets.

Taking this into consideration, he has not yet got it all together, which is why I gave him a little grace period, otherwise it would be 2 stars. He needs to get it together and quick. Nothing is displayed properly. There is no rhyme or reason to this madness. Nothing is organized according to theme or period or merchandise. It seems like it's packed with an anything and everything goes concept. in hope you'll find something so that the rent can be paid. Tom eagerly follows you around asking if you are looking for anything in particular and I'd say no, because it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. #NoTime I don't like used clothes laying flat in a pile or old shoes, that's not interesting to me. Stop trying to be everything to everybody, focus and arrange your wares in a pleasing way. Lots of potential and a good location could turn this unorganized place into a charming and profitable operation for Tom's Treasure Chest by creating a more visually appealing vintage shop. The prices here are slightly higher than some of the other resale shops. Like any resale or thrift shop the merchandise is always revolving so it helps to go more often to see what they got in. The store seems to be divided in a few different areas. One area is a thrift store area and there are other areas that are consignment areas. The consignment areas may have new items, vintage items, or collectible thrift items.

There are some great goodies here at rock bottom prices! Everyone is super friendly and what I appreciated most was how clean, organized, and odor free the place was. I will definitely return.

Bought a beautiful vintage Philips turntable from Illiana Music listed on Reverb. This was at the…read moreend of February, 2020. The turntable arrived a later... ..but was completely destroyed, because the heavily weighted platter had not been secured, was easily able to lift off the half inch tall spindle, and acted as a wrecking ball to demolish the tone arm, snapped off the tone arm rest, cracked the stylus, broke off the needle, inflicted massive gauges in the top platform off the turntable, and was able to damage mechanical components to the point of rendering it a total loss. My loss of well over $100 was not great.. ...but much more sad was that a beautiful, 50 year old piece of classic hi-fi history had survived graciously for decades.. ...only to be senselessly demolished because of a simple lack of effort (and respect) to pack securely. All turntables have a provision to allow you to lock the springs, remove the platter and place it under the cabinet to prevent this damage. Very simple and takes all of 2 minutes. The shipping box had no damage... ..it's just that during handling, if not held perfectly still at all times, the platter will lift and freely bounce around inside the dust cover... ..and the platter is nearly 75% of the entire turntable's weigh and will easily bulldoze anything it can reach... ..and it certainly did just that. I wrote Illiana Music about the total destruction immediately, then several more times with no response. In May (3 months later) I finally received a response that the owner had a death in the family and someone else had been handling selling and shipping. As much as I can relate to loss of family, Illiana Music had no problem taking my money but not taken responsibility for their neglect and failure to deliver what I paid for... ..have they made any effort to compensate my total loss of money I gave them. I've written twice since, it is now going on 4 months, no further response and I've lost well over $100.. due to Illiana Music's complete negligence, zero customer service, zero responsibility for losses because of their poor service, and totally ignoring my communication. Hate to say it but.... WHATEVER YOU DO, ***STAY AWAY FROM ILLIANA MUSIC... FAR AWAY!***

I stumbled upon this record shop by accident last week (right by the Lansing airport) and was kind…read moreof taken aback. I have no idea how long they've been in business, but this place is a must considering how few record shops there are in the south suburbs. They have an extensive selection of LPs as well as used audio equipment. I had my eye on a few uncommon (but not super-rare) records and found them within minutes. Unfortunately, they were all $10 each, which is higher than I've seen anywhere else. I'm not an expert on record stores, so maybe that's not crazy, but I was a little shocked how many records were in the $7.50 to $10 range given their conditions. (There are also $3 and $5 records, but not as many.) $6 each for CDs is also pretty insane. So I'm docking them one star in that regard. Part of the charm of a record store is the crusty employees who are more than willing to give their opinion on what you listen to, regardless of if you've asked for it. Rest assured, the lady working there was pleased to tell me she hated one of my favorite bands. That ticked me off, but she does know her stuff and happily offered some suggestions of bands I might like that I've never heard of.
