Let's jump right into it --So the morning of 10/17/2018 @ around 9:00am, I saw that my Target had 3 10" MICKEY'S in stock so I called to get a confirmation on if they actually had any. The guy who answered said people have been calling for them a lot, but nothing was coming up within his system (even though on my end it said that they had 3, but I didn't question him) and that he thinks no more would be coming any time soon since "they are rare exclusives afterall." He then says "But one second, let me check the back." I said "Aw, you're so nice, thank you" (not knowing that I was about to be punked -.-). He then sets down the phone (he doesn't put me on hold, just places the phone down, so I can still hear what's going on), jingles the keys out of the drawer, steps about 3 feet away *jingle jingle jingle*, waits 5 seconds, and then comes back and says "Yeahhhh I just checked and we don't have any, sorry about that." I said "Ok, thank you" and hung up...but drove to Target anyway (I wanted to go to the mall anyway *shrug*, and also, the guy sounded too sarcastic to NOT be pulling my leg , and ALSO, I know the layout of the store and it takes way more than 5 seconds to walk to the back -_-) . I got to the Target at around 10AM and saw an employee (Caucasian dude with strawberry blonde hair and a little pointy beard, if I remember correctly--I'll update later if I remember his name) anxiously watching my every move with big eyes as I made my way towards the electronics counter (I assumed he was the guy who spoke to me over the phone). He was helping another customer, so I ignored him and I patiently shopped around in the Commons until he was finished. As soon as he was finished talking, he eagerly ran to me and said "I'll be with you in a second!" And then he ran downstairs to help a customer checkout since the cash registers at the electronics desk weren't working. While I was waiting, another employee conveniently came to the desk and so I asked him instead if he had the item I was looking for in stock, and gave him the DPCI #. While the sweet employee was typing the # into his scanner, we chit-chatted about my hunt for the 10" Mickey, as well as the difficulties involved (including my past experience with sketchy employees) ...he said he wasn't at all surprised at the sketchiness. Abruptly, in the middle of Paublo's sentence, the T-Flipper frantically ran back upstairs and shouted "Okay I'm ready to help you now!" (When he could clearly see I was already being helped...). I said "Thank you, but I'm already being helped by Paublo. Sorry to have made you run back up the stairs lol." The frantic T-Flipper then walked quickly behind the desk and angrily looked over Paublo's shoulder at the scanner (lol so nosey... ). Paublo calmly and respectfully edged away from him and said "It does look like we have 3 in stock, I'll page someone to grab it from the back for you really quick." The T-flipper then started to make loud, forced, and awkwardly giddy conversation with Paublo. This is when I leaned over to my friend and whispered "Watch this dude try to run to the back and intercept the pop, we're probably messing with his eBay inventory OR people paid him an interest fee to hold the Pops for them" -- And RIGHT when I finished my sentence, I focused back into their conversation and caught the end of the T-Flipper saying "I'm going to have to go to the back for it HAHAHA!" Before he could turn and leave, I caught eyeline with him and gave him a -_- look. He caught my drift and ended up staying behind the desk. The nice girl from the back brought out my pop a few moments later. T-Flipper then proceeds to gawk, gasp, and everything in between (Yeesh , talk about overacting ). He then turns back to Paublo and goes "Oh wow I didn't know we had these, yeah, some lady called earlier about these" *He pauses and looks at me, and expects me to interject* I didn't respond, because 1, I wasn't buying his getup and 2, I wanted to see what he would say next without me influencing his choice of words in any way. He continues and goes "Yeah, I told her my keys weren't working so I wasn't able to check." *My friend and I look at each other, because we knew for a FACT that is NOT what happened* It was official...this dude was full of crap! But I didn't say anything (I COULD HAVE EXPOSED HIM FOR THE LIAR HE WAS, buttttt I didn't feel like it). Instead I finally decided to smile at him and say "Yeah...that was me! " He replies "OH IT WAS?!?!" I grab my Mickey Pop and started walking towards the escalator with Paublo to check-out my Pop downstairs at self checkout. I turned around one last time and answered "yEaH!"
I DISLIKE IT WHEN TARGET EMPLOYEES SAY "WE DON'T HAVE IT, HAVE YOU CHECKED EBAY?" INSTEAD OF POINTING ME TO OTHER TARGETS THAT HAVE THE ITEM IN STOCK. Target really needs to crack down on employees that hide collectibles in back-stock and sell them on eBay for 10x's the price! Despicable read more
