The El Cajon Target looks like something out of a third world country. I entered the store around 3 and 2 kids on an electric scooter were riding around in the store and they hit the end of the isles by the greetings cards. I told them to not ride in the store and one of the kids gave a smart ass response and kept going. I brought it to the attention of at least 5 employees and they all didn't seem to care or I assume are just used to that type of ridiculous behavior. The El Cajon Target store manager has absolutely no control of the store they are responsible for and should be reprimanded or fired. I told one of the employees I will never again shop in the store and it's disgraceful how little regard they have for their customers. I have shopped there for over 10 years and I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I stopped at This Target on the way home from my Mom's home. Half of the things I wanted were locked behind glass. I waited a few minutes to get someone to unlock the case for some shaving cream. I waited by the liquid laundry case ( not the pods but the big bottles) for 5 minutes and no one came, so I left without even looking for the other items on my list - and then got them at Vons for a lower price. I really hope the Target closer to home isn't like this. If it is, I see many more Amazon purchases in my future. read more

Very clean and organized store that doesn't have a lot of the riffraff you see at places like Wal Mart. I enjoy shopping here and since it's not a full sized target (or at least it doesn't seem as big as others like the one in mission valley) I don't get lost and spend all day looking for what I need. The only thing is that some of their employees aren't very helpful or look very friendly to approach and ask questions too. One of the times I was in here an employee opened up their register and took the last person out of a long line versus taking the second person in line. This caused a huge argument with the customer and employee who you could tell had zero sympathy and was very rude. So many empty shelves and spaces. Cosmetics was almost completely wiped out and that's really the only reason I dragged my husband out of the house to take me here. I give Amazon way too much money every week and thought I'd see if I could find the 3 cosmetic items I was looking for. No not one of my items were in stock. Anyways after sulking around cosmetics for 20 minutes in vain, we end up walking around the store and almost filling a cart. Checkout was easy and fast so we liked that. A couple of employees were helpful and answered a couple questions when it came to finding things, but most just walked passed without a smile or even a simple hi. This is the target that has become home base for me. It is one of the smaller locations I have been to but it still has everything I need. It is laid out well and everything is easy to find. Since it is a smaller location there isn't as much variety as many other stores but like I said, everything you need is there. I generally run in after work to get random things we ran out of and need. The staff is all very kind and helpful when you need them. Overall, a decent location to get what you need. read more

This Target is okay. We shop here because it's the closest one to our house but the one in Santee is a lot nicer. This location tends to be a bit more of a mess with shelves in the clothing area in disarray quite often. This isn't necessarily Target's fault if people are terrible about putting stuff back, but part of running a good store is keeping it clean and having associates check for stuff like this more often than they are. They recently remodeled (within the last year or so?) and since have removed their cafe. I never bought anything from the cafe so maybe that's why they removed it. But they used to give free fruit to kids there and this was always a highlight for my kids (and honestly one of the reasons we went to Target over Walmart). But since the remodel, it's gone and so is the free fruit. If you are reading this Target, please know that I felt appreciated and cared for by you when you offered the free fruit to my kids. Now I feel like you're trying to be cheap and save a dime and my regard for you has gotten a lot lower because of it. read more

I ordered two 2nd generation apple pencils. I picked up my order and I given one 1st generation pencil and one 2nd generation pencil. I didn't realize I was given the wrong pencil until Christmas day. I tried to return the pencil today and I was told I had to mail the return because it is an apple product. This was one of my daughter's Christmas presents. No one apologized for the mistake. This is horrible customer service. Now, I have to mail pencil and hope they are not confused about why I am returning a 1st generation pencil for a 2nd order. What a cluster!*****update *****The service manager, John, apologized for what happened. They replaced the pencil, reduced the price and gave me $10 gift card for the inconvenience. I am actually surprised this place is still around. They are very big into Profiling people. If you are not a White Middle Class Lady, this place does all they can to make you feel unwelcome. I cannot even remember the last time I saw a black person working at this place. Here's my story.... I work very hard and most weeks, I work 7 days a week. I work as a tradesman (I won't mention which) so by the end of most days, I am very tired and my clothes are not exactly cleaned and pressed, I work mainly in the outdoors. Recently when I needed a grocery item, I went to the Food4Less across the street from Target, but there was a line to get in (COVID-19) There's also always a line at the Walmart at the mall as well. There is never a line to get into Target, never. So instead of waiting in line, I went to Target. Every time I have gone in here. security follows me around. Always! And like I said, it's the end of the day, I am tired from work and pretty dirty from the work day. I have never stolen not even a stick of gum in my life, ever. They are very obvious, their security people. And then they wait right by the entrance also either inside or outside as I head to the exit. Some days I find it funny but most of the time it is annoying. I am not the only one they treat this way. Go ahead and check this place out and tell me what kind if customers you see at thus store, their employees and tell me I am lying. I will never go back to this Target or any Target again. The last time I went here was just a few days ago. It didn't take long before security started following me and when I went to my car, there was this bearded Arab looking guy who was watching me as I walked to my car. Obvious security guard. Came here while in the area to pick up the essentials for home. Not used to the set up here of where everything is as other Targets I've been to in town usually have a similar operation as far as where stuff is found. Wow, run from this Target if you can help it very unpleasant and rude. The employee was very nasty to me because I told her the price said differently than it rang up. However, being a business major I knew this something should be said so I went and took a picture of it to prove her wrong because she wanted to charge me full price. So, I said okay, boy the manager was even worst very rude & nasty, to make a long story short after getting out of line and having my merchandise suspended to price check she said she couldn't honor the price and was laughing as I was leaving. I went into this store on 12/29/21 around 5:45 pm with my small (and injured) dog who I just picked up from the vet. I was confronted rather rudely by an older blonde female employee. She told me I couldn't have my dog in the store. Ok. Fair enough. But her delivery was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked her if she spoke to all customers the way she had just spoken to me, she said "I thought I was very nice, you just didn't like what I had to say" with such an attitude. I asked the front desk associate if that lady was the manager, and I was surprised to found it she was. While I was finishing speaking with the front desk employee, the blonde manager again confronted me and says "what did you say to her???" What an appalling way for anyone to treat/speak to guests, but especially the manager. I'm very understanding of the stressful times retail workers are under and I really don't like to post bad reviews unless I have to. Target El Cajon, I hope you really have a talk with this manager. If you have policies, fine but there is a right and a wrong way to communicate that and this was definitely the latter. How difficult is it to run a store? By that, I mean, explaining to employees, supervisors, or whomever, that if an item is not ready for the sales floor, DON'T PUT IT OUT. My grandma and I went into the store today for a few items. The entire store is under a remodel and literally every isle has been moved around. Even though the isles were out of order there were plenty of employees to point you in the right direction. Spoke with about 5 employees through the day and they were all very pleasant and helpful, especially in the makeup and clothing area! I especially wanted to acknowledge our cashier Chloe, she went above and beyond in customer service! She was very nice and personable! All in all this review is mostly on the employees. After spending $200 in the store on 2 separate purchases, I got $20 cash back. After going to my next stop and paying for my items I was told by the clerk that the $20(from Target) I gave her was fake. Luckily there was an ATM near by so I was able to get more money. After finishing my purchase, I immediately headed back to Target. The young lady working the exchange counter was extremely polite and even took the extra step of apologizing for what had happened. She then called her manager over. A young Asian or Pacific Islander man by the name of Ron (could be wrong on the name) He doesn't even greet me or make eye contact, tells me to "hold on" and runs off to talk to another Manager. After a 10 minute wait, he hands me my money again not making any eye contact and is actually speaking with a co worker while he does this. I asked him if he is going to check to make sure that THIS bill isnt counterfeit, he cuts me off saying "we dont do that" then grabs a spray bottle and sprays it. Wtf?! At this point I took time to express my frustration about his lack of empathy and attention to what just happened. All of it went in one ear and out the other, so now I have to move up the ladder and explain to Target headquarters in writing what occurred. They should know that their employees are not trained to look for counterfeit money. I also need my $4 ATM charge I I incurred by having to use an ATM machine. Target is a step up! Try their pick up- delivery they often have it ready in an hour or two. Store is clean or alway being cleaned as are their shopping carts. They have awesome granola/ protein bar snack selection. The newish brand " good n gather" is good. Especially the keep cold salsa the sweet onion and the jalapeño salsas are pretty darn good. This target and CVS pharmacy is awesome. And they recently added a Starbucks cafe. So now it's a one stop shop for. Coffee, groceries and prescriptions refills all in 1 location. It only took 10 minutes for me to get my son prescription. The pharmacy line wasn't long at all yet it can be a little long at times. But I don't mind. The pharmacy manager is remarkable. This target is always very well stocked, neat as well as tidy. It's Incredibly clean inside and out. The aisle are continuously organized and free of debris. Target offers extraordinary deals in their weekly. Yet make sure you add their cart wheel app to your smart phone. Best app every. It's free plus you receive weekly emails on new savings. You can add additional savings to your check out. Last week I saved an additional $4 by using the cart wheel app. read more

Starbucks at this location has always been an issue with simple drinks! It's not that busy for them to mess up so much, the employees don't have proper training. I worked for Starbucks almost 10 years , I would know how to make a simple mocha Frappuccino. For them to mess that up it's sad.... They re-made my drink and it was still wrong. So to avoid wasting anymore product re making it , I just threw my drink away and went to another location.
