I have no clue whether this Target has a staff shortage, or whether they are deliberately trying to cut costs here, but checking out here is a chore. Monday of Christmas week, there was ONE person working at a register. Christmas week! This is peak time for full shopping carts and gift cards, for which checking out at a register is preferred. The cashier just kept looking around as if to say, "Is anyone else coming?" Fortunately, I was only fourth in line (that's still bad enough). When I was finally at the register, she phoned for assistants, but by then, the line at this register was about 10 people and stretching into the main aisle. This is in addition to everything I wrote about years ago. Later in the day, I was at the Target in Saratoga/Wilton, where almost every register was active. The only reason I'll sometimes shop here is out of convenience, since it is the closest Target to me, and in a plaza with a few other stores at which I shop. But I'd pretty much prefer shopping at any other Target in the area when possible. read more

Super convenient Target for the Albany area. It's right off I-87 aka the Northway on Central Avenue. Easy to access from various points in the city and in the same complex as a BJs, Lowe's, Empire Wine, Marshall's and an Eddie Bauer outlet store. I have had great experiences here with the drive up service and often find them waiting for me when I pull in. In store service is less than stellar with few cashiers and long and frustrating self checkout lines. Watch out for potholes in the parking lot near the entrance. Lot is not well maintained. read more

This target sucks, let's get that straight. We all know it. Before covid it was a decent better pace place, now it sucks. HOWEVER today I went and used self checkout (obviously Only one lane open with a long line for a cashier) but the self checkout had short line. I was using self checkout with a giftcard and this foreign man (new employee that I've been yet to see there) I'm not going to assume his ethnicity but y'all get it. Anyhow he was very helpful I was unsure if I could use giftcard at self checkout and when I hadn't scraped off the code with a coin he came over to help me out and had his own quarter (I did not ask) and he scraped it off for me and said that's the best way to do it and otherwise it could damage the numbers/code under. He was very very friendly and polite. One of the nicest employees I've ever met. He could be very helpful to the elderly as I think he would have much patience where most the young people don't-- something we need in this world especially if many stores are making self checkout the main way of payment which most of our old folks may need help with or taught how to do it. On a side note the store was messy & many unit prices were incorrect. This Minecraft fridge was cool and with workers wandering in every section of the store (food, toys, clothes ect) youd think if they aren't sorting the shelves that they would move the mannequin ? Cute things at target. Messy store items all over the place, can barely get your cart through certain areas. I was parked maybe 10 rows away from the store. My shopping carts 2 front wheels stopped turning 3/4 of the way to the car. I had a heavy furniture item and had to drag the carts non moving wheels across the parking lot with all my strength. You'd think the carts would work atleast until you get most of the way to the end of the target parking lot read more

I will upgrade this Target from the usual enmired three-star ratings of other Targets locally for a few reasons: (1) Starbucks at the entrance. Caffeine = speedier shopping. (2) Full-sized, with full-stock. The 2/3 sized Targets never seem to have what I want. (3) Somewhat more open layout and easier to navigate. This is probably just the bigger building and having multiple entrance doorways, but it works. Downgrade: the ever-atrocious parking and traffic situations at the Northway strip mall. Egads this is the worst traffic planning. You could make a little story about awful traffic engineering in commercial developments, with the Northway mall making one cover and the TJ's down Wolf Rd. making the other cover. read more

Time marches on. I get older. My judgements soften with age. And perhaps more importantly, my kids are out of diapers. So really, I cannot comment on whether or not the diaper situation has improved since I last reviewed this mass retailer back in 2010. But I can tell you that I really appreciate this store, it's location, and it's product mix. This is where we get school supplies every fall. This is where we get presents for all the kids at school. This is where we get themed cups and napkins for classroom holidays. This is where we would buy clothes for the kids, if we bought them clothes. It's a long story, and I'll spare you the details. I guess, ultimately, shopping here is still about the kids. It's just that the phase we are in has shifted over a bit. But kids break things, they grow out of things, the tire of things quickly. This is the place to buy disposable versions of what should be more durable goods. However, the sad truth is that even the better brands are skimping on quality so much these days, I don't think "durable goods" is long for the American lexicon. The stuff at Target seems to be as good as anything else, stylish and a fair bit cheaper. They had a great sale on some incredibly fancy granola that was made with organic everything, including organic butter. It's almost as if the store was meant for me. Considering how close it is to Trader Joe's and the Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro, I'm tempted to give into the delusion. read more

Thank you for taking the hint from my last review of this place. I came in here and shopped several Shipt and Target Prepaid orders for Shipt customers and every time I came in here, I was rather pleased - with the exception of one order that had me researching the locations of baby diapers (and similar). Baby care items seemed to be in disarray - some aisles don't form aisles at all - some are L-shaped, and nothing is really set in any type of array. However, I did like the looks of your store when it came to grocery and home goods (as I had to pick two fans for two customers tonight). Sorry that I don't come in very often - I don't see many orders at this store during times when I can be up in your area. I tend to find orders conglomerating in Rensselaer and Clifton Park (sometimes in Latham) and sometimes orders tend to happen here the day after I leave. But when I came up and shopped a few orders earlier in the day in Rensallear then saw your store, I picked it up like it was hot-off-the-presses, knew a little about that area, and went with the flow - even getting my last one going my direction towards home but still within an ample distance within the Metro/region (it went my direction, just not very far enough). I found aisle numbers in the A and G sections rather easily and as I stated I didn't like the baby care aisles, but there were no aisle numbers to be found in most of the rest of the store. Even if it's a cardboard sign, more signage is needed to explain which shelving units pertain to which aisle numbers, so we Shipt Shoppers (especially from those from out-of-town) know what's what. I liked the fact that your outside is cleaner and crisper, and that the employees were outside collecting carts more often than I see at other stores (I rarely find any employees collecting carts at your Latham and Clifton Park stores - places employees need to look to clean up carts outside more often). Employees inside were rather nice at both customer service and the check lanes. I had a bunch of each type of order, and although the check lane people didn't understand the process, they proceeded with my order to the best of their ability and remembered at the end that they were supposed to catch my tax-exempt and that completely made my day! (I thought Rensallear was my favorite for the last few days, but once I saw your store, I'm going to have to rethink that!) read more

so first off i got what i needed cool. it was very disgusting throughout the entire store. messy, unclean, dirty food cups everywhere. then i go outside with my cart because of course i get a pack of waters and this guy is bringing carts in, okay whatever i would've brought it to one of those cart catchers but instead this kid i made eye contact with him and he locked the cart on me and said "oops!" like he had a device in his hands to lock the carts. he did this on this poor old man too. he couldn't even get his belongings to his car him and his kid i'm assuming was attempting to carry the cart to the car. i'm so disappointed in this store. especially in colonie. you'd expect it to be nice and up-kept but it was not. that guy outside was very mean just because he was lazy and didn't want to go and get the carts? and i've personally worked in retail before, i get it but it's your job. read more

Messy??? Only a bit in the clearance. The prices here seem better than those in NH and MA. The selection is very good and many people on the floor cleaning and stocking. I miss Target. I love their food area and all the visiting designers. We pretty much cleared this place out of the Victoria Beckham line. read more

When it comes to a "general merchandise" store, Target is there for me. For my entire life, it seems that whenever I walked into a KMart (no matter where) it always looked like it was under construction or being remodeled. I can't stand Walmart even though they have great prices. That leaves Target. Things are clean, prices are good, the store is well lit, there are plenty of friendly staff members around. This sprawling building reminded me immediately of the Costco in Idiocracy...however, it wasn't quite as big on the inside. All of that aside, though, they had everything I expected a solid Target to have. Clothes. Nonperishables. Furniture. Dorm shiz. I was able to stock up on dirt-cheap pillows, hangers, and storage boxes. Although, I was sad to see that they were yet another store that did not carry the elusive flip-chair. In that vein, if you need it, it looked like they had several kinds of futons in stock. I've always liked this Target, and I think I like it even more since they rearranged and upgraded the store. While it has taken me a little while to get my bearings again, it's all well-labeled and laid out in a way that mostly makes sense. What I particularly like about Target is that they carry the things that I want and need. The Method brand of cleaners is fantastic and my cleaner of choice for all things, but I can't find it very many places - at least not the variety that Target offers. I like the way they've upgraded. While their food selection isn't local or (largely) organic, it's decent quality (for what it is). It's fresh (discounting transport time) and appealing. The prices are on par with the other supermarkets in the area and the Target-exclusive brands have decent offerings. It's really nice to run in to grab a couple of things and be able to pick up a car-friendly, quick and healthy snack for myself or anyone else I might be shopping with (even my 16 month old nephew). Fundamentally, it is what it is. It's a cheap department store that is well-stocked, kept clean, and easily accessible. I don't need or want it to be anything more. read more

This is basically a chick shopping place so I'm writing this review from the perspective of a male being dragged around. I've been to this Target location about 20 times and that's not an exaggeration - probably more. And not once was it my idea to come here. Yes, that makes me a good guy doesn't it? But that's not the point of this review... The place is very clean and the carts are nice and new. Make sure to pick up a Star Bucks on your way in as it helps move things along and something to keep in your hands and looking more natural walking around. I recommend an ice coffee since you'll be inside and you're probably wearing a coat the whole time. If you're a guy you'll like the eye candy at this Target. It seems like all the hot 30-50 women shop here for whatever reason. I can only guess they like that it's clean and the Walmart people don't come here because everything costs 2 cents more. I get the same 30-50 hotties feeling at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but this place is bigger so you won't be spotted so easily scoping out the cuties to pass the time. I know this sounds horrible, but any honest guy will tell you that's the main benefit of shopping with your girl -- people watching, and of course eating out afterwards. Love eating out after several hours of shopping, it's the reward. The checkout girls are friendly and I've never had a problem getting directions from staff. Also, for some reason I feel icky buying any meat or produce from Target. They also have an excellent selection of Health and Beauty products. One of the few things I enjoy shopping for at this Target. Right after I get my Star Bucks I usually head over to the H&B section and sample a little hand moisturizer. I hate dry hands and it's fun to try different products. read more

If I remembered to check in every time I went, you all would realize what an unhealthy addiction I have to Target stores in general. This location in particular has always been clean, even during their recent renovations. Now that renovations are complete to include more groceries and a Starbucks (!!), I'm even happier to visit this store. My only complaint is the parking, and it's a minimal complaint at that. Because of it's location, this store is often very busy and the parking lot (which is shared with Jo-Ann Fabrics and others) can become pretty full in the evenings and on weekend. Thankfully, I'm usually able to avoid these peak times. During warmer months it isn't TOO terrible, but in the winter, I wish they would push the snow piles further than they do. read more

I went in looking for something that on line said was available in store. The item I wanted would be in the back part of the store, I didn't take pictures but got very anxious seeing clothing laying all over the floor in every department, pallets of freight left unattended throughout the store, aisles half empty of merchandise.... I couldn't find the item I was looking for and couldn't find an employee to ask, except the one that told me it wasn't their department and walked away. At that point I walked away too, the store was disgusting! From the empty carts in the aisles I imagine I wasn't the only who walked out. read more

Walked into this Target store for the first time since I am visiting from out of town. Walked in at 2pm and as you can see from the photos, the entire store was a disaster. There were hardly any employees working and they should all be fired especially management for opening this store and allowing customers to shop in this filth. This is the worst target I've been too. It's unfortunately the closest to my house, but I will be doing my best to travel out of the way to go to Latham, which is much cleaner and more organized. The clothing section is so messy, I couldn't even get my cart through without running over mounds of clothes and it's out of stock of most things I need. They rarely have my sons size in cat and jack toddler clothes bc it's all so picked over. And I have to check the expiration date on food as I've ended up with outdated yogurt on more then one occasion. And the employees act as if customers are an inconvenience- trying to get through the grocery section is very frustrating when they are stocking shelves mid morning and even tho I'm very pregnant, I'm expected to detour with my cart and toddler to get to what I need- I've even seen a stocker wave his hand at my backside - as if I'm in his way Bc i was simply trying to get through. Overall, I like Target a lot...this particular location, not so much. Their clothing racks are all disheveled, and nothing is organized, especially the clearance sections. After seeing how neat and tidy the Latham location is, this was quite disappointing. Went in to exchange a pair of shorts for a different color, the shorts were the same exact price, so should be an even exchange. The young lady working the return desk was not friendly at all...asked if I had my receipt (which unfortunately I had thrown out), and proceeded to tell me that I can return up to $70 a year without a receipt...why am I being treated like a criminal right from the get go? Also, before she even processed the return felt the need to tell me that because I didn't have a receipt, I would be getting the lowest sale price on the shorts I was returning, and MIGHT have to pay the difference between those and the new shorts...."sometimes the computer doesn't let us change the price"...She proceeded to scan the shorts in the computer and put the new ones in the bag and just says "you're all set"...Wait, so I was able to do an even exchange? Why even go on about me having to pay the difference before you even knew that would be the case? I just felt this girl had an attitude with me from the start for no reason. I will definitely avoid this Target going forward. read more

I realize that the stock has to put away but it seemed every aisle that I walked through had cartons and empty boxes all through the aisles. Don't bother using a cart as you can't get through anyway. One of the things I needed was liquid hand soap. I couldn't find it so I asked an employee who was in the section. He didn't know off the top of his head and basically went on a walk with me to find it. Two aisles over we ran into another employee. The first employee asked the second employee where the hand soap is. The second employee turned to me and says "oh like the big bottles of liquid anti-bacterial soap?" I confirmed but he looks a little puzzled. He's wasn't sure either. I walk away and eventually find it on my own. Twenty minutes later I see the second employee again on a walkie talkie delegating tasks to staff.... Omg he's a supervisor of some sort and he doesn't know the location of a very common item?! This is the most poorly managed store I've had the displeasure of shopping at -- ever. The store has been on a steady decline (nose dive) for the past two years or so, and after my past two experiences shopping here, I will be heading to the other Target stores in the area from now on. The aisles are an absolute mess all throughout the store, like an actual bomb went off and no one ever bothered to come around and pick anything up or reorganize...at any given time at least half of the aisles are blocked by huge pallets stacked high with boxes -- whatever happened to stocking shelves after closing hours? Did something happen to the overnight crew? It seems that shift has been eliminated, making your shopping experience now an absolute Hell to navigate. The place is in total disarray all. the.time. But the absolute worst thing about this store is the fact that they *always* have ONE checkout lane open, and today there were NO checkout lanes open expect self checkout, which had a line twenty people deep. It's clear that Target and this store in particular is painfully understaffed and is attempting to squeeze every last drop out of the workers they do have (eliminating night-stocking the shelves and instead doing it during the day, for example, and the NO checkout cashiers issue).
