Definitely a home decor emporium! I stopped in here with a friend who was looking for Halloween goods for her home. I was surprised how large this store is. If you are looking for any kind of holiday decorations, this is a good place to look since they have a TON. Like tacky lawn inflatables? They have LOTS of them here. Even at the end of August, there were tons of fake Christmas trees for sale in all different colors. I'm going with the lower rating because I did think that the prices were quite high for the low quality of the items. I probably wouldn't shop here much unless it was after the holiday when the items are on clearance or if I was looking for a hard to find item. Rest rooms were clean. I like that there is a spot where you can refill your water bottle with filtered H20.

This store is unbelievably HUGE! If you can think of something you want to add to your home that would be considered "decor" than they probably have it for sale here. There are aisles and aisles of stock and more constantly being brought in. These are not one-of-a-kind items, limited availability, or seconds (damaged stock). This is all new stock available in quantity.

What everyone needs, garden foxes with solar lights!

Do you just open whenever you want? What's the deal? What is your schedule? Store seems very unorganized with employees.

I love home goods. It's always shelves of wonderful chaos and good deals. It is usually pretty busy but you get in and out pretty quickly.

Of course, as I'm browsing it the first week of November, a huge amount of the store is devoted to Christmas items already.

I am very pleased with the swivel chair I bought for my LR. And I just received the Amish made solid Cherry bed I ordered. Beautiful! I could select from over 20 wood finishes! Service is A+. Friendly and knowledgeable! Helpful: Scott let me borrow a metal bed frame until my bed arrived. Communication is excellent. Easy to contact, and you speak to an actual person, the owner. Delivery was efficient and competent. Experienced deliverymen. Prices are competitive and fair value. Selection is outstanding. For example, I could select from over 100 upholstery fabrics for the chair I selected. In addition to the showrooms, there are numerous catalogs available online and paper copy. The styles are mostly traditional American - Shaker, country, and simpler styles, not the more elaborate 19th century American variations on Victorian and pre-war overstuffed - but they do include a lot of fairly stodgy upholstered styles as well. They claim mostly Amish manufacturers, in small lots, and the basic woods are (supposedly) all American-grown - cherry, oak, walnut, hickory, and pine in evidence, not sure about maple and cedar, but the staff say they can order almost any piece in one of the basic woods. The owners are also the sales staff so it's a true small business. The only thing not great about Kugler's is the prices, which are full boat retail price. As in, $300 for a small cabinet, $1000 for a small dining room table, $1500 for an armchair, just for a sample. These are not outliers; they're typical. I've bought unfinished pieces of similar manufactured Amish origin at Adirondack unfinished for significantly less, but - those are unfinished and unupholstered, and the quality isn't really quite as high as the basic stuff at Kugler's. So it's not quite a competition so much as different ends of the same spectrum in the same basic vein. The true differentiator may be that you basically are going to be able to custom-order a piece with the wood, finish, and upholstery of your choice, for the most part; it's not true custom furniture as you're ordering a known type or style but it's pretty close in terms of customization within the range of choices. And they do have some very nice pieces. I'm a little reluctant to go to four stars without some evidence as to the long-term quality of the furniture, but then again you'd be waiting a while for that, presumably, so consider this a placemarker review in the meantime. But I also note I can't really afford to shop here for anything big, so I am out of my league - take that for whatever it's worth in terms of the star rating or the credibility of this reviewer.

At no point in time did they contact me to do "additional work". Therefore, be very careful. They replaced a piece that did not need to be replaced on top of my filter, tossed to the side. Not once letting us know. Not once hearing from us to agree on them touching anything outside of an opening. What's more disturbing is now the piece that was replaced I am not sure can go back. Thus, forcing me to now shut off my pool filter and now not using my pool until this company resolves this blatant issue of unauthorized work and possible damage to what they replaced as irreplaceable now. Make sure you find a pool company that values their customers consent on all work done on your property. Especially because I was not even home for this lack of consumer respect. I would ALSO like to point out that the items replaced were there last year and the year before that. and NO ONE DID OUTSIDE REPAIRS UNTIL NOW. I WAS TOLD LAST YEAR AND THE YEAR BEFORE THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

The workmanship varies, but in general they have what I'd call medium to medium-high quality pieces. They will sell them to you finished at premiums which vary quite a bit from piece to piece, or will give you advice about staining or painting (and will sell you the appropriate paints and stains). If you've never finished an unfinished piece, it's not that hard to get a nice result, although you'll want to start out on a cheap, small piece to get the hang of it. Pine predominates, but they have a half dozen other woods for many of the items ranging from parawood to alder to ash. There's some very nice oak pieces with good grains. The quality of the woods is what I'd call "modern" - finding good furniture wood these days is very difficult, and there are flaws in almost every piece of new wood furniture you can find, but they do reasonable quality control here. We've had a few pieces that had flaws from here, so I encourage you to look at the delivered piece before you take it off the premises - they've willingly exchanged things for us so don't be shy about that. As far as the types of things, they have: bookcases (including corner units), headboards, shelving, kitchen tables and hutches, tables, dressers, desks, and a variety of interesting smaller-run items. They don't have couch/futon frames, however. The stock does vary - they do buying trips periodically - but for the more mainstream pieces they can get virtually any size in any wood or configuration you want. You can also bargain hunt here -- they typically have a few "as is" or end-of-run items at fairly decent discounts. Wood is not cheap, relative to pressboard, but we've priced their stuff against internet-ordered, places like Huck Finn's, and equivalent finished furniture at the mainstream furniture stores, and Adirondack does quite competitively. The staff here have been helpful - primarily Brian, the guy out front most of the times we've been here, who knows his furniture and will go over both the options for something and the finishing how-to with you. Do note it's a smallish operation so you may have to wait for help. Some things I'd like: a sustainability rating on the wood (they don't have anything like this, although they can at least tell you where they bought the piece from, which is more than they can at most furniture retailers), and a delivery service (this is strictly carry-out). And, it should be noted that when they run out of stock of an item, it takes them a long time sometimes to get it back, since they do the buying directly themselves and then periodically. They do have a good-sized warehouse in the back, though. Note: this is in Niskayuna, 12309, on State just on the other side of the Colonie line and below the intersection of Balltown to the south of Mohawk Commons. The Yelp Map seems to give the wrong location because of the "Route 5" addendum. Note also the URL for the store is incorrect - google for Adirondack Wood Shed. Phone number is 518 346 2200, current hours are MWF 10-530, T Th 108 and Sat 10-5. I submitted an update to Yelp but they seem to vary quite a bit in their times to update. I'll delete this section of the review when I see that the Yelp database information is correct.

I really enjoy home decorating, and as a busy full-time working mom, I thought this would be a fun Saturday morning self care activity and hoped to pick up a couple new tips for my holiday decor. I arrived a few minutes early and waited in the cold (in full view of the staff) until they unlocked the door. I was told to put my stuff down and do a little "pre-shop" before they got started. Then the "teacher" basically asked what we (myself and 3 older ladies who came as a group) wanted to learn. I explained why I signed up and she started walking us around the store suggesting items we could buy. I gave her a few minutes, but after a while I explained I wasn't there just to shop, and asked if she would be teaching any design tips. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, so I showed her the class description. She was still confused so then she asked another employee to help me, as if I was asking for something special. I finally left because clearly they had no knowledge to share and I had just wasted my precious little free time. Calling this a class is comical. It was a total disappointment!
