While I do understand that the ownership has changed and inevitably will give the store a different…read morevibe, my main issue has been that in the times I have been into this store since the change in ownership and management, the staff has been unpleasant and on one occasion in particular, made my friend and I feel very uncomfortable as she had a loud and extremely personal phone call during the entire time we were in the store without even acknowledging that we were there at all. I do think the selection has always been great, and I appreciate the emphasis on supporting local work, although that also seems to have changed a bit since the change. It is a pricey location for most things, but I do always enjoy seeing what is in the store, the card selection is consistently excellent, and it is a great place to find a gift!

There is a lot to look at in this space, with a nice collection of original artworks as well as items on display (and available for purchase!) from variety of Horror Movies and other productions. There are items for sale from multiple local artists/vendors you may be familiar with (Deanna Campagnola & Opal Hexen, I'm looking at you!) as well as ritual supplies, tarot decks, and crystals. Self proclaimed as "supplying tools to assist you in being your authentic self" and encouraging their community to "Let the weird in," I highly recommend you visit Nerdy by Nature during your next Troy adventure. The customer service was exactly what you'd expect from a small shop like this; the cashiers were happy to let me browse in quiet, and engaged in pleasant conversation about the artists and items I'd chosen during my visit. So much caught my eye while I was browsing - jewelry, stationary, wall hangings, table top art, and so much more. I thought things were very reasonably priced for a handmade vendor market and spent less than $20 on two small gifts for friends. MADE in the USA! The sales associate/design consultant I had was Paras Hilstro who was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She answered all of my questions that day and later in several emails. I was allowed to borrow 10 fabric samples to take home which helped me make a decision. I was able to place my order by phone which was very good. My furniture was arrived at Bassett two weeks ahead of the projected date. It was delivered 6 days before Thanksgiving which was perfect since I was hosting for the holiday. The delivery was flawless from competence of delivery men to setting up the furniture. I highly recommend Bassett Furniture for quality and value. In addition, I highly recommend Design Consultant Paras Hilstro for her excellent service including knowledge of this furniture line.
