This particular Target location has gone downhill. Target very often comes in handy for things that I need and some nice things too but I've definitely noticed myself that it's very disorganized at that particular location and the shelves aren't necessarily well stocked. If you find something there that you need and you don't have a problem with the check out line or the self-scan, then you're good, and usually the cashiers at the registers are pretty decent. But I've been finding lately that whenever there is an issue or a question, good luck. I always get someone there who usually can fix the problem or concern but with an attitude and being so nasty and insinuating that it's all my fault and you can tell that they don't want to be there. And the atmosphere is depressing. I just feel this dismal vibe every time I walk in there and it has happened so gradually over the years that I didn't realize it until the last few times.
A recent experience really ticked me off when the self scanner I was using wasn't working right. I was using my chip card and I know that I had it in all the way. For whatever reason, the self-checkout machine wasn't taking it and this really annoying associate looked at it and slid the card and that worked because clearly the chip card reader wasn't working right. But mind, that was finally after the whole time she kept questioning me to death with this obnoxious attitude, "Well maybe it was something you did...", "Well maybe you jammed it or pushed in too hard....", "Well maybe you didn't push it in all the way...", "Well maybe you tried it too many times...." Uhhh...really like I'm that stupid? Like I should have to defend myself..."No, I didn't jam the card in...Yes I pushed it in all the way...It rejected my card from the beginning..." And then when she slid the card and it worked that way, she just nodded and said nothing and didn't even apologize. Well maybe now that Clifton location has just lost another customer. She just couldn't keep her nasty comments to herself. For crying out loud, for such a simple thing like that, she just was working there and doesn't own the place so what was her problem? Not very nice and it didn't help and that's just unacceptable to me. That's really the final straw that did it for me.
This morning I took a drive to the Fairfield location just for comparison. I hadn't been out to that other location in years and the atmosphere is way different, a lot more civilized and a lot cleaner with all of the items neatly organized and the shelves very well stocked with many more choices. I was pleasantly shocked. It almost looked like JCPenney back in the day when it was good. lol...I was just browsing. I didn't buy anything there and didn't need to interact with any of the sales associates but I'm a lot more tempted to go to that one from now on.
The Clifton location has always been convenient and close to home but the Fairfield location isn't a bad distance for me. I've noticed also that the parking there is much easier. read more
