I was laughing at him for it. I bought a wooden box and a clearance headpiece- woodsy antlers on a headband- it was Halloween, it was Goddess/Nymph-like and I loved it. This was the point where Robert was laughing at me. They even had ram-like horns with red flowers and he steadfastly told me no- he hated it. And the dainty antlers looked too childish for my big head. The two of us made our way around the store- me playing the singing bowls and Robert magically appeared to ring out some of his own. I was so tempted to buy the candle filled singing bowls- BUT part of getting a singing bowl is hearing the tone. And I am currently collecting the glass ones- so their beautiful metal ones wouldn't fit my collection. Always always- check the clearance. But the earrings turn out to not be a guaranteed great choice...since not every pair is actually made to be worn and they can't be returned! At $25 a pair, the end of each earring can't be re-attached after taken out of the backing because the hole for the backing to go into wasn't made to be large enough to really fit accurately. You can see from the pics. And jamming that slim metal piece in would just bend it. So these earrings can't be used as earrings. Since we all know how stretched our dollar is these days, not spending on earrings that can't be worn is something to consider.

In the middle of my question, another customer walks up. She stops listening to me, and asked the other customer if she could help her. I'm like no, this just didn't happen. When I finally get to ask for a product, I'm told it's upfront somewhere in a bin. I search and finally locate the bin in my own, but now there's no pricing. I take a sample to the checkout line and start asking the cashier for a price. Brenda now comes up front, and interrupted me once again, and says they are out back. Or small bags on an aisle. Now for another search mission. Finally found it. Back to the checkout with now one register and 7 people in line. Finally when I am 2 away, another cash register opens. Cashier asks if I want a bag for my goods. Of course I do, but since she asked such a dumb question, I carry my 3 items on my chest to my car. Service assistance hit the rock bottom at this store.

The aisles are clutter with carts of unopened freight with usually only one person attempting to restock shelves and you can see boxes piled to the ceiling in the back room. The few employees seem overworked with low morale but they are still courteous and somewhat friendly. I like the prices and the merchandise when it's available but, I've stopped going to the one on treasury and instead drive across town to one of the other dollar tree stores. I wait until Saturdays and then use the $5 off $25 coupons--no limit on transactions! The staff at all (7) stores I visit are always glad to see me. I'm not worried about a cluttered or dirty store. Since covid, most stores have trouble finding people who want to work--they do the best they can.

The TJ's is not nearly as good as some I've been to, namely the one in Mt. Pleasant SC on 17 and the one in Brookhaven in Atlanta, so Marshall's wins this round. Needing work shoes - all black, non slip and this time preferably some kind of athletic shoe not the ugly restaurant shoes ubiquitously worn and hated by bartenders and servers everywhere - and voila, done. Black NB with just a little touch of silver threaded through the laces. Good price at under $50. We also perused the other sections and while there were a lot of cute home décor items, we were disciplined and did not stray into that territory. We did find some cute pj's for me, two sets of tank/short duos, one Tahari and one Free People, both under $17. Mom insisted on getting them for me as a spring-into-summer sleeping treat. Good spot for a lot of your bargain shopping needs.
