I'm typically not a fan of the smaller Target locations-- they usually don't have much of anything but this store had everything I needed. They don't have too much staff here, however, the staff is actually visible and available. I saw an employee in the aisle and he immediately helped me with something I needed that was locked up. The check out line was long- yet moved very quickly. I'll still always choose the Atlantic Terminal store but this location is much closer to home and usually has everything I need here. read more

Made a quick visit on Christmas Eve for some last minute gifts. The store was pretty organized, had a decent amount of options. Most of the toys were sold out of course. The line for check out moved quickly and the employee assisting seemed very focused on keeping it moving. read more

Every time I go to Target I always come back with bags full of things I never knew I needed. I walked to Target today hoping to get a bottle of the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, but ofc I came home with everything but that. They don't carry the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil here; in fact, they don't have a lot of things. This Target is basically "mini" sized and it's one of the smallest Targets I've been to. Nonetheless, I like coming to this location because it's super clean and well organized. ** [ OPALHOUSE SOY CANDLES REVIEW ] Among other things, I got two jars of the Opalhouse scented soy candles, one in Sparkling Yuzu and one in Wildberry Frosé, to add to my neverending candle and reed diffuser collection. This is what happens when it all smells so good and looks so cute. If my sister didn't stop me, I'm sure I would've grabbed a few more. What a spoilsport. The large jars (15.1 oz) cost $10 and come with 2 wicks, while the small jars (4.1 oz) cost $5 and come with 1 wick. They're made with a soy wax blend (not sure if it's 100% soy) so it's vegan too. I got home and lit the Sparkling Yuzu right away. My sister said it looks like nipples and now I can't unsee that. All I can say is at least they're some great smelling nips lmao. The Sparkling Yuzu is a bright citrusy scent with a strong throw. I haven't lit it for long but it does seem to burn unevenly and tunnel pretty intensely. This is the smallest Target that I have been to. I was looking for Starbucks Nespresso compatible pods and I wasn't successful. Also, this location encourages customers to use the self help machine to check out. I was on a long line and the cashier encourages me to use it. When I informed her, the item isn't priced as the same as Target app. She gave me this frustrated look. God forbid! I asked for a live person to assist me. What used to be the Walker Theatre many years ago and later a Mandee store is now a Target. The store still has the marquee all lit up in the front and some of the original architecture from the old theater inside. This Target is smaller than the ones you find in shopping centers and downtown Brooklyn but it is convenient for picking up light groceries and home goods. No pharmacy. Sometimes the lines are long but moves quickly due to the several self-checkout registers. Overall the store is good for business and brightens the neighborhood. read more

I liked that Target decided to open a satellite store in Bensonhurst because I go to the Tribeca Target all the time. I thought the Bensonhurst Target would carry the same amount of products as the one I frequent, but when I took a tour of the store for the very first time, my excitement for its presence deflated a bit. Target did a nice job of preserving a little bit of nostalgia with its updated version of the Walker Theater, but since it is only one level, they had limited space to carry the same amount, and kinds, of products as their Tribeca location, never mind the usual behemoth stores they are typically known for. I think they did as much as they could with the space they have, but I do not feel the desire to visit this store the way I do with the one in Tribeca. read more

Probably one of the worst target stores in NYC. The shop is very disorganized, especially when checking out. The shop is very small compared to other typical Target shops. Because of the small space, there are limited amount of things sold here. We were not able to buy much things in this location, compared to the other ones. This target is not bad for those that live around the neighborhood. But if you are looking for specific items, do not bother coming here. I suggest going to the other larger Target shops instead. read more

This Target definitely doesn't deserve a 2.5 star rating. Sure, it's not as big as the two by Downtown Brooklyn, but it's definitely way cleaner than the Atlantic Terminal one. And it sells produce and packaged meats! For being on the smaller side, they also have a pretty good selection of household goods, shelf stable foods, and beer. Oh, and it's pretty inside since it used to be a movie theater (before it was a clothing store). The only thing that sucks is that parking can be tough, and there will probably be a bunch of people outside loading stuff into their double parked cars. read more

As a denizen of the well trodden path on 18th avenue in Brooklyn, the sad state of the old Annie Sez and Mandee's in this spot were a throwback to an older age (though not one as old as the actual theater which used to occupy the storefront). With the opening of the new Target, the block takes a huge leap into the 21st century, giving Bensenhurst residents a place to shop that offers to the signature blend of Target chic. While smaller than most normal Target's, the one floor covers the main essential items, including clothing for men and women, snacks, frozen food and snack essentials and baby goods. The lines seem to get a bit long and crazy, given how little of the floor they are allotted, however that is presumably due to opening kinks. One cool thing is the restoration of the old theater moulding to its original luster - look up when you're walking through the frozen aisle! read more

This target really brightens up 18th avenue literally with its old style movie theater decor and lights outside. This target has all the the essential items that you could need. This location is also very clean, well kept, and very organized.I feel like this is a no frills target because it is a lot smaller than most other target stores that you could spend a lot more time in browsing the Different sections. I would come here because it is a convenient location and closer than some other target stores if I really needed something but I don't like the shopping experience here as much as I do in other locations because of the size of the store and smaller selection of items. I think that this area needed a store like this so I'm happy that people of the neighborhood have someone convenient to shop. read more

Happened to be in the area and needed to make a Target run. Was happy to find that there was a Target around. This Target seems brand spanking new with a modern twist and cool indoor decor (look up while you're in the food section). It does not boast the magnitude of items that typical Target stores do so it's more like a mini Target. I was very disheartened when I found the item I was looking for but noted the price to be waaaaay jaacccked up! It was for a face lotion that is normally around $29 (in Target and Target.com) but was $39.99 in this Target! What's up with that? I was curious about other items in the store too and found that most of the prices were off compared to Target.com. Not cool, not cool at all. I heart Target and I hope this is or can be remedied! When the original Mandee's & Annie Sez closed and I heard there was a Target, I was quite excited and also had mixed feelings even though I'm more of a Wal-Mart fan. The decor and atmosphere is very beautiful especially there were designs/artwork inspired by the former Walker Theater. The store itself is pretty clean and organized. Customer service is okay, but haven't interacted with staff too much. I don't have anything that I specifically come here for only if I need something specific and can't find anywhere else. I also like that they have a charging station and a little play area for children. This Target is a lot smaller compared to the one in Atlantic Terminal ,but less crowded and is more cleaner! It's a good addition to the neighborhood and makes the neighborhood look a lot brighter. read more

I was so happy when I heard a target was going to open in Bensonhurst but so disappointed when I visit for the first time. The store is a mini mini version of a regular target. They should have chosen a bigger location. Anyway, the cashier lines are always long, there are 5 counters but only 2 were open. There are about 6 self check out registers. The customer service and the check out counters are the same so people returning or exchanging items have to wait on the same line. Customer service were rude. The staff at Atlantic is so much friendly. Too bad we are stuck here if we don't want to make the trip. read more

I just happened to be in the neighborhood and was surprised that Target was opened. I used to visit this location when it was Mandee/Annie Sez. There were many families shopping and a kids area in kids department. I did notice that some items were more expensive. I.e. Sinful nail polish cost $1.99 in other stores yet it cost $2.15 in target. Not a big difference but just noticeable. Clothing is to the left of the entrance. Groceries and household items is at the rear of the store and beauty items are at the right side of the store. read more

I was so excited when a Target opened closer to home. Closer drive and easier to find parking compared to Atlantic Ave. If you been to bigger Targets and really enjoy your shopping experiences at Targets, this might not be the Target for you. The space is relatively small compared to every other Targets and it has only one floor. With that in mind; having one floor, they try to cramp everything as much as possible. Doing so caused every aisle to be quite narrow especially when you have carts and strollers running through the aisle. It can be quite hard to maneuver around the aisle as freely when it's packed inside. Every section is limited with products, because they can only fit so much. Since I still have to travel here with transportation, I would rather make my travel worth it by going to the Target in Atlantic/Barclays Center. read more

i never thought i would be writing a one star review bc as someone who works in customer service i understand how these things can get back to you and affect your business. but i just dk if i can overlook todays experience. i was waiting in line to pick up an order when who i assume to be one of their workers (she was in red without a nametag going back and forth between self checkout) tried to cut through. she muttered excuse me and i sidestepped. that mustve not been enough cause she asked me to move AGAIN. the customer beside me who was w her cart made no efforts to budge so i had to be the one to. as she passed us she had the audacity to curse under her breath loud enough for us to hear, which left me staring after her in disbelief. idk what kind of place this was coming from but theres rlly no need for vulgar language in the workplace?? if you are going to work in the service industry pls maintain some professionalism or at least pretend to. thats that on that. this, compounded with the fact that this target never seems to carry any of the items on their site, including basics, and how theres only one person working the register at any given time for pickups and returns are the reasons why i cant rate this branch any higher than a one star. i love targets but when compared to the one at atlantic terminal, this one feels like such a letdown. my advice to management is to retrain staff in customer service bc this aint it. they could also afford to rethink the checkout process. like most other targets, it would go much smoother w separate lines (self check out vs pickups/returns) and will save a lot of customers the trouble of asking the persons ahead of them if they are doing self checkout or not. i wanna remind that not every negative review is meant to bring a business down. some of their workers are actually v welcoming and warm, and i dont want the couple of bad eggs to ruin it for the rest. hopefully target bensonhurst can learn from this and all the other reviews on here. read more

Decided to check out the new Target and I had big expectations since just a week ago I visited the Target at Atlantic Ave, which had 2 floors and large selection of items. The Bensonhurst Target was nothing more than a miniature version of the larger Target stores. It was also extremely cramp inside, with one main isle and two smaller isles running parallel on the sides. I was expecting to find escalators somewhere leading to a second floor or basement but there were none. Item selection also isn't the greatest. The Atlantic Ave Target had a whole corner of the second floor filled with Christmas decorations, lights and trees. The Bensonhurst Target only had 4 shelves of Christmas lights and a few decorations. This is not a Target I would be returning to too often because it's just too small and uncomfortable to walk around in. read more

Beautiful store. Its wonderful how Target has made efforts to preserve the character of the historic Walker movie theater that was a part of this community for many years. This is a classy retailer that shows through their actions that they are invested in the community and historic character of Brooklyn. This location has adequate stock of many practical things that you would need. The purpose of this location is to be a mini City Target- not a large-scale Suburban store or a store like the one on Atlantic Avenue that is part of a more modern shopping mall. This store is fitting in within the confines of a small neighborhood theatre that can serve residents of Greater Southern Brooklyn. I think it is imperative that anyone who lives in the area or in southern Brooklyn visit this location rather than stores in Manhattan or downtown if they have the same inventory. Supporting neighborhood stores help promote jobs in Southern Brooklyn and the Retail Landscape. What the opening of this beautiful store does is highlight how this neighborhood and Southern Brooklyn can have successful retail businesses. Other major retailers will definitely be interested in moving into the area if this location is successful. Which will benefit everyone. Be smart Brooklyn- spend your money locally. read more

Well I love Target as a whole and was excited to hear it was coming to the neighborhood. I knew it wouldn't be as big as the others. However I did expect a better selection and service. While it is good for a quick run in for cheap milk it does leave a lot to be desired in the non grocery sections. Parking on the weekend is a nightmare. Most items online don't ship to this store and aren't in stock at this location. There are rarely any helpful employees but the self checkout makes things move along pretty quickly. But that also has its own set of problems. As I was rushing to not hold up the line with my toddler I quickly threw my things in bags causing the one to rip. I bag to rip. I ask my friend to get me another and notice security staring. As I repack my items at the front right in front of him he comes over and asks to see my receipt. Annoyed as I hand it to him I ask why and he claimed it was because my items were "exposed". So by repacking ie taking things out of bag and doubling it caused me to look like a thief in front of other shoppers. Thanks. read more

Was excited to hear about a new target in Brooklyn instead of always having to go to Gateway or to Charleston in Staten Island. Went for the first time today and won't be returning. The best way to describe it is a Target grocery store with some clothes on the side. Very small and claustrophobic aisles. Very limited selection of stuff. Prices seem higher too for some reason on their own branded items compared to Staten Island. Obviously no parking lot but there is a loading/unloading zone on 64th st. Only 3 registers and 4 self checkout registers. Staff are clearly not trained in much of anything. Was using Cartwheel at checkout and the cashier grabbed my phone from my hand without saying anything and then held onto my phone because she didn't know how Cartwheel works then she blamed it not working because my iPhone was set to night shift. The Target in Charleston in SI is still worth the drive and toll. read more

This is the absolute worst Target location and I shop at target all the time! Place is chaos, disorganize, doesn't carry most of the baby formula options which is a major disappointment. Ordering your order to pick up in store?? EVEN WORST! You get an email to pick up your order one day and then within 24 hours the email you to let you know hey someone f*ed up and your order is not there. They then cancel the complete order ENTIRELY and how do they inform you??? EMAIL. So what really happened to my things? Don't know why they opened it.. waste of resources. Yeah, guys, it's just not good. I had super high hopes, especially since this target is way more convenient than any other location (lookin' at you, Target Gateway)--I also like hearing that they'd preserved some of the old architecture from when the store was a theater. Unfortunately, the store is a total disaster. The layout is rough--when you first walk in, the clothes are on your left.. But you can't see that because of the security guard and the end caps blocking all visibility. It was very difficult to navigate. The rest of the store was just as poorly laid out--the aisles are very cramped, and I found that people weren't able to move off to the side (since it was so cramped) and as such were just totally blocking the aisles or walkways. I'm able to easily move, but my father doesn't and there were parts of the store he couldn't get to because the close quarters made easy passage impossible. Adding insult to injury, every other aisle had giant carts full of (I assume) unstocked items. That made it both impossible to get items off the endcaps and also a brutal eyesore. This was mid-day on a Sunday, so not like I was in there cruising around near closing or opening. All that, combined with their super limited stock (They got nothin, guys. They have like three kinds of toilet paper, two kinds of paper towels, and if you don't like ziploc you better learn to like it.) and their really badly managed checkout area (they have 5 self checkout lanes, and 4 regular checkout lanes. When I was there, they had three cashiers, a full line, and a guy asking people to use the self checkout lanes even though nobody was interested in doing so), I'll just schlep to Atlantic or Gateway. At least at Atlantic I can get whatever toilet paper I like. read more

( up and up diapers are $16.19 here and online or at the other location they're $14.99. Smoothie pacifiers that I bought at Atlantic were $2.99 while here they're $3.99.. just to name a couple) I wonder why?? I'll just keep buying it online. read more

I had to ask an associate where the elevator to the second floor was. She said there was no second floor. There are 99-cent stores in Brooklyn that are larger than this Target. OVERPRICED! Extremely long line, with only two cashiers available. After all that waiting in line, my legitimately printed manufacturer's coupons (I only had a couple) were rejected by the cashier because "we only accept Target coupons" (not true) and then by the front end manager because "if they don't scan we don't take them." (also not true). I told them to void my order and walked out. Will avoid. read more
