Stumbled upon this discount variety store while strolling down 5th Ave during our trip to New York…read more I was looking for inexpensive t-shirts for my family and certainly found them! They also have housewares, snacks, cheap casual clothes (like leggings, pajamas, underwear, socks, etc...) and lots of household stuff. I wouldn't look for nice outfits or dress clothes here, but what they have is great for casual wear. If I lived here I'd be here a lot! I got 6 t-shirts, a pair of pajama pants and luggage tags for my daughter for under $40! At the airport I would have paid a lot more. Made me happy!

I needed a simple dress for a backyard engagement party and thought I found one. It was only $7.99…read more I found another one that is the same size, after observing it the other pattern was better. When I went to check out, the price tag says $9.99. I explained that the dress is $7.99, so I paid and then went to get the other dress to prove it. The cashier went over to the rack and came back with OTHER dresses and then said she "knows how much each clothes are" and said these are "$7.99, not yours". I told her it says that price and she said no. Overall, felt like I was lied, next time I will definitely check the prices. I definitely didn't think the same dresses will have different prices and then have that cashier pretty much say, she knows all the prices even though it says differently. This place is a scam! I wonder how much will it be if I grabbed the $7.99 dress? I don't mind the extra $2, but this is not how business is done. Get yourself together!

One of the few underrecognized gems of 18th Ave N line, which has grown so much in the last decade…read morebut continues to retain its historic Italian presence. My mother who moved from the city misses this place the most. Fortunately this store is still the same as I remember it from my childhood, albeit a little more interesting now that I have a frame of reference! You can think of it as a cozier version of Burlington's. There are many discounted brand name clothes here; the ones I've gotten here are somehow much nicer than the ones I've gotten directly from the brand. This might be due to the meticulous selection process that items coming in here must go through, with the business's model and absence of space to really become another Marshall's/TJMaxx or Target. Which is fine with me - I prefer this handpicked variety, and there are still so many options to choose from, and restocking so frequently, that I never feel lacking. I really like the velvet coat hangers for the price, the winter coat selection, the shoes that I can comfortably wear to interviews and work. There are some comfy blankets and plush throws upstairs, they made for great holiday stocking stuffers.

My dad always buys work shoes since he works in the restaurant industry, and he sometimes has trouble deciding which shoes are best for him. Estephanie was very patient, took her time, and helped him find the perfect pair for work. What truly stood out was that when she heard us speaking Spanish, she made the effort to explain everything to my dad in Spanish, including the discounts they offer. That made him feel very comfortable and confident with his purchase. Even during her break, she came back to check on us and make sure we were doing well, which really shows her dedication and professionalism. My dad left the store very happy and grateful. It's great to see a place that still values genuine customer service like this. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Estephanie, and thank you SKECHERS for having people like her in your stores.
