Today I made a return at guest services & the older lady with the name tag of Lisa ( coincidentally my name too ) was not very helpful. She was extremely rude, snatched my receipt and didn't acknowledge what I was telling her. Two ladies before me were also being treated that way as well and that is very inappropriate behavior to have , especially working in guest services. She would also have side conversations about me with another older lady that I could not catch her name. Very inappropriate behavior for grown ladies. Do not feel like this was a welcoming environment and will not be coming back here. read more

The sales associate in the pharmacy was kind enough to walk me to an item I needed. Now electronics - lord. The woman had no social skills. This Target is VERY hit or miss. So much so that I usually hold out until we're in Reston to get my Target fix. The major hit of this place was the one time I found two super cute dresses in the girls department that fit me perfectly and were extremely affordable. The misses are numerous. I've just finished 45 minutes of playing bumper cars in this Target. They seem to be shoving too much into the space. The aisles don't allow two carts to pass so one or the other person has to back out. It started as mildly annoying but left me wondering what the thinking is because annoyed people just want out. I guess it helped keep spending down because the experience was so unpleasant. I don't think this is a Target I will return to. read more

I'm not a fan of this Target because it is often out of stock of the things I want. One time, I left an expensive item that I paid for in the store (it was not put into the bag) and I was not able to get it back. Also, I was here with a friend who was violently attacked by some teenage girls, and when he contacted security, they minimized the incident and were like, "What are you gonna do, call the cops?" in a joking tone. Excuse me, security officer...what are YOU going to do - isn't this your job? Maybe we would call the cops if we didn't think it was proper protocol to go to security first. They said they talked to the girls but they were definitely still in the store and I don't know what they could have said in the 90 seconds they went to "talk to them" . I said, if you don't believe it happened, why don't you look at the cameras? Anyway, I think that incident was handled horribly. Their customer service also needs some work. read more

The WORST Target. Always difficult to park, lackadaisical employees, and picked over selection (especially the grocery area). Unfortunately Alexandria is severely lacking in the big box department, so if you live in Del Ray or Old Town you've gotta drive to Richmond Highway if you want another Target or Wal-Mart. And those suck too. I find myself driving way out to Springfield more often than not for my big box fix these days. read more

This rating is mostly for the management. The store is low-staffed, has low inventory, and horrible managers. One Saturday, I arrived first thing in the morning and the entry doors were not functioning, so we had to walk through a sea of parked cars in the back to enter through the warehouse area. It was a hot summer day and we realized the air-conditioning wasn't working. So the electrical systems were down -- and they opened the store anyway. The cash stations were messed up, too. And in the heat, this was really unpleasant. When I dared to complain to the manager, she became very defensive and rude. Aside from that bizarre experience, I've been several times when the store was a terrible mess, there were no staff members anywhere, and lines were long at the cash registers. Compared to the Targets in Minnesota, this one continues to have a lot of problems. read more

Love the kiddie $1 bins full of toys and craft items at the front of the store. The staff at this location monitor the $1, $3 & $5 bins better than others. The bathrooms are clean. The store is roomy. Not all of the "clearance" sales are that exciting. I like to watch the in-store promotions such as $5 or more gift cards when you purchase certain items. There is always parking. There are several restaurants in the strip mall, including Don Pablos. Weekends can get hectic. Pick off hours to visit the store. read more

There was a $5 coupon off of $25 in produce and the prices were high. I sure learned my lesson because the produce here was slim pickings and when finally chosen went bad very fast. I won't ever buy such items here again. I think I've had more negative issues with this store when I can't find a stick item and no one to help. Problems at return with a receipt/ credit card. This is my favorite Target in the area. Yes, the staff is lackluster, but the cleanliness and products are the reason I return. Despite the regular team members, the managers are diligent and they are always there to listen. This is my go-to Target store. For convenience, though, and nothing else. It's in a shopping plaza, so I can knock out a lot of my errands all at once. The parking lot is really big, so you'll never struggle to find a stall thankfully. Even if it's busy, you're good. What I really like about this Target is the people working returns. Most people in those roles hate their job and make sure you, the customer, know how much they hate it. I was a bit taken aback here, when I saw the employees not only smiling, but joking with each other and the customers. I have never had a bad return experience here (and trust me, I do a lot of returns). There may only be one or two people working at a time, but they're so efficient that the lines never get too long. On the opposite end of the efficiency spectrum are the cashiers. They are some of the slowest I've ever seen. Even if there are a bunch of registers open, the lines will be so long! Sometimes the wait is bad, and sometimes it's okay; sometimes it's just volume, and sometimes it's the slow cashier. The section here is just okay. My favorite place is the $1-$3 spot in the front of the store. They have great selection that's always changing. Like, I'll go in one evening to check it out, and the next evening a bunch of different things are out. It's a wonderful place burning a huge hole in my pocket, and I couldn't be happier. Their produce section is lacking, but they have a lot of the basics. Actually, I could say that about every place here. I've seen smaller Targets with more selection than this one. However, they have a lot of the basics and I sincerely doubt you'll ever leave without finding anything on your shopping list. Overall, it's a good Target. If you're looking to make quick, easy, hassle-free returns, I would suggest going to this one! read more

Except the wires in the ground that trigger the carts to lock up are located such that you cannot use the sidewalk to reach the farther-out areas of the parking lot. So ... you can dodge traffic ... drag the locked-up cart ... struggle to carry all your purchases by hand ... Or decide not to return to a store that openly hates its customers. read more

I'm writing this as I'm waiting in line for an online order pick-up. I've been standing here for over 30 minutes. I thought the point of ordering online was to make shopping faster. I could've grabbed the items I needed myself and be home by now. Everything here seems to be so unorganized. The exchanges & return section is definitely understaffed. Some of these employees have a really nasty attitude and shouldn't have been hired in the first place given their work is centered around customer service. I will probably shop elsewhere next time. I love Target but I have not been impressed with the management at this store. In my last three visits to this store, I've been overcharged for multiple grocery items. The shelf is marked with one price but when the item is rung up there's a price difference. When brought to the manager's attention the issue was addressed in a nonchalant way. Granted the price difference was anywhere from $1-$2 but multiply that by thousands of customers and Target is making a nice profit from their negligence. read more

I enjoy going to Target in general. This location was close to where I was staying around Old Town Alexandria and was also the most convenient to stop by. Overall, it's a good Target location in the Alexandria metro area. The first time I stopped by, it seemed as though some sections were in some desperate need of restocking (fortunately they were well stocked a couple days later). I think the employees are pretty friendly as well. Parking is or should be plentiful, so it won't be too hard to find a spot. This Target is also next to a number of other popular stores like Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, and some eateries. read more

I do have to echo all the other reviews in saying that this Target is ALWAYS busy. It's hard to find parking (although not a problem anymore since giving up my car); busy in the store; and lengthy lines in the front. At least we know it's doing well as a business. It's not close to any metro station, so you have to bus it or walk from Crystal City (a solid 1.5 mile walk). I've heard rumors of someone trying to lobby to put a station here but I seriously doubt that will happen anytime soon. The staff are the best. I'm always asked if I need assistance at least 5-6 times per trip. They are easy to find (especially in the red attire) and happy to help. I'm sure that must be hard to do given the sheer volume of people coming in and out every day. It has your standard deals, a food section, clearance section, and the whole rest. Am blind. We moved to this area about a year ago and live across the street. Let me say this last year the service at this store is amazing. The staff is always super friendly and 9 times out of 10 we rarely have to wait to get some assistance in shopping. Super clean also and the vibe is always pleasant. I come to this target quite a bit. I love the fact that they have a section with all different types on wines. This store is kept up rather nice and clean, I ah e never seen it out of order since I have been coming here. I also like the fact that they have a large food section with fresh fruit. The only reason they I give it 4 stars is because the lines can get so long. I have been in here a couple times where the line was all the way to one end of the store. Well I may have exaggerated a little bit LOL, but the line was long. They have self check out aisles, but all of them do not be working. But overall this is a good location to come to. Sometimes you will be waiting in line for awhile, rather it's the self checkout or a the register. But they have a lot of nice things. You can get just about anything you are looking for here. read more

TOW WARNING: We frequently shop at this Target and bring our two-year-old daughter to the playground around the corner. There's parking much closer to the playground, but we park at Target because we are shopping there anyway. On the July 4th holiday, we parked in the near-empty parking lot and took our daughter to the playground before doing our shopping. We came out to find that our car had been towed. Towing records indicated that they towed our car within minutes of when we parked, and the store manager informed us that we would have been fine had we done our shopping first and then gone to the playground. One Target employee told us that "this happens all the time." We had to pay $180 (including a surcharge for towing on the holiday) for the tow and another $20 for an Uber to get to our car 20 minutes away. Target should do more to alert its customers that you cannot step off the premises without being towed. Not exactly how a customer expects to be treated. read more

This place is a wasteland. I've visited here about six times since June 2018 and no matter what I'm looking for this store seems to always be out of stock. This place should be called The Soviet Target. They never have padded envelopes or anything related to postal supplies readily available. The housewares department is always picked over. They are always out of Coke or Pepsi products. So before today's visit, I made sure to check online to see if they had 18 gallon storage containers for $5.89 in stock. The online website said this store had them on the shelf and they had to be picked up. However, when I get there they had no lids anywhere to be found that fit the containers I wanted. They have grey containers with lids that do not fit. Talk about a hot mess of a store. A total abomination. You would think stores like Target in a huge metropolitan area of several million people within a 10 mile radius would have shelves fully stocked. Guess again. I despise Wal Mart but looks like the only option. Amazon is number one for a reason... stores like this. read more

We routinely shop this store and its been pretty good overall, though sometimes they are out of merchandise. Today I ordered pictures printed from their photo lab, because I needed them in an hour. The website said it usually takes them 2. After 3 hours I called. They put me on hold to find someone, then again to check around, then again to keep looking. After 30 min they hung up on me, so I drove to the store. When I arrived, they looked around and then told me the machine was down and they could print the pictures tomorrow. The person I spoke with was very apologetic and professional, so I gave them 2 stars instead of just 1. read more

This Target is very convenient to where I live so I go often but am disappointed almost every time I go. The staff is not friendly and the manager is horrible. I have had multiple online pick up in store orders that were not ready when I had been told they were ready for pick up (frustrating). All I was told was that their system wasn't working correctly. Really? That's pathetic, even if that isn't a lie. I've also bought wine on the self check out line and had some very rude associates come check my ID. One young girl saw I needed help and kept talking to a coworker for well over a minute. When she finally got over to me I acted polite like nothing happened and she wouldn't even look at me. I understand it's probably not her dream job but come on, if you're in customer service put on a smile and be polite. If there were another close Target, this one would get no business whatsoever. Let me preface this by saying I absolutely love Target. I'm one of those people that could spend hours in Target going up and down every aisle. But, this one was horrid. I was visiting the city when my phone charger broke, so I came to buy a new one. When I entered, I immediately noticed that the $1 section was a hot mess .... but I let that go because I know it can be difficult to maintain a section like that that has so many small knick knacks. I continued into the store and there were purses hanging off the hooks, on the floor, etc. There were multiple employees standing around talking at various places throughout the store, so I figured this was just how they choose to keep their store. I went back to the Electronics section and picked out a charger that said $9.99. Went up to the front to pay for it. There were only two or three lanes open and people had full carts of stuff waiting to be checked out, so I went to the self checkout. However, once I started waiting in line I realized that self checkout wasn't going to be any faster. Everyone (and I mean everyone checking out with self checkout, all of the people that were at the lanes before me and the people that were in line behind me) was having problems with either items not scanning the correct price, items not scanning at all, etc. There's one older woman there "helping" everyone, but everyone has the same look of frustration of their faces and is just trying to wait their turn. It's finally my turn though, so I rush up to the register ready to get out of there and allow the people behind me to do the same. But, alas, my charger rings up as $14.99. After she finished with the couple next to me, I said "Excuse me?" The woman sticks her finger in the air, doesn't even look my way, and walks over to the other group of people using the last register. I assume that meant hold on, so I'm standing around waiting patiently. When she comes back to me, she just says "Yes?" I explain to her that the chargers have a sign that says $9.99 but they're ringing up as $14.99. She responds "Okay, so I'll cancel the transaction since you don't want it." I explain to her that I do want the charger, but for the price it is listed as. She says, "well I don't have anyone to radio so you're going to have to go back to Electronics and figure that out." ....... okay. I head back to Electronics and sure enough, the sign says $9.99. I ask the Electronics employee if there's any difference in between the one that says $9.99 and the one that says $14.99 besides the color and she looks at them and then says no, just the color. So, I try to pay with her and she says the same thing - they're ringing up as $14.99 so that's the price, even though they're advertising as 50% less than that. I ask if there's cheaper chargers, she says probably not but you can look. I go and find another one that says $9.99 and she says okay, let me check that though because these might not be $9.99 either. But by the grace of God, it was the correct price and I was able to walk out of there with the charger. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. Usually when I go to Target the employees are smiling and friendly. This was not the case here. Clearly the initial woman didn't want to help me at all, and the second lady didn't know her own department (although she was nice, which is more than I can say about anyone else I encountered here). Pros: parking was easy, pretty big store, there's dining and other shopping options nearby if you want to do that as well. read more

I love target, LOVE LOVE Target, but the people who work here have NO concept of customer service. Everyone I have encountered has been rude and completely unhelpful. I have never filed a complaint about an employee in my life because I understand how hard it is, especially in this economy, to get and hold a job. However, here's my story about a Sunday afternoon: I called the photo department to find out how much it would be to print 35 4x6" pictures and the woman working there couldn't tell me. I completely understand if she isn't familiar with the intricacies of the self-serve photo print booth there, especially if she was new (which I found out later she was), but not only could she not give me an estimate (meaning an APPROXIMATE figure per photo.. for which there is a pretty similar industry standard no matter where you go), but she was extremely irate with me. When I requested to speak with a supervisor or manager, she refused to give me her name and then hung up on me. When I finally got a hold of a supervisor/manager (her exact title was never conveyed to me), Leah offered to resolve the problem by "having a talk with her." How does that help me? It doesn't. Not that this will have any impact on the overall business this Target gets, but I will never step foot in here again. Do I have a target on my head or something? read more

If only this Target was located somewhere other than Potomac Yard... Honestly, there's only so much you can write about a Target store. They're fairly identical, one to the next, with a couple of exceptions. For me, most of the exceptions at this store are negative. But the one BIG positive is why I'm giving it four stars. What, you might ask, is the positive that I refer to? The pharmacy staff. Pure and simple. As much as I hate the parking lot, the fact that all of DC ang PG County seems to pick this Target to fill their shopping needs, and the fact that its a little messy most of the time, the pharmacist and tech that I've mostly dealt with are AWESOME. When I was first trying to get my meds and my insurance was giving me a hard time, they were on top of keeping me informed and making sure I knew what I was doing, especially when it became obvious to them that, due to my lifelong affiliation with military medicine, I really didn't. For my one prescription that isn't refillable, and thus requires me to bring in the paper every month, they're always good about giving me a time to pick up and sticking to it. The one time they ran late they were super apologetic. They're helpful, they answer questions when I ask them, and they all around just rock. I already mentioned most of my negatives for this location as a whole, and I think they've been adequately covered by the others. If the pharmacy staff ever changes, I'll probably abandon this store completely. But up until that point, consider me a fan. read more

The starbucks in target is by far the worst I have had. I have been in there many times hoping they would get my drink right but it hasn't happened once. I know they aren't a "real" starbucks ran by corporate but they should at least try to learn the recipes if they are representing starbucks as a brand. As a member of starbucks I am very disappointed in the lack of inventory they constantly have and improper training with drinks along with poor dress code. As a proud member of starbucks it would be nice to see them try a little hard in the work they do. read more

I ordered photos for a scrapbook from this target 12/3 (over a month ago). I went to the store the next day to check and see if the photos were ready since I had not received an email confirming completion. An employee informed me that their photo machine was broken and they were waiting for parts to fix it. They told me the photos would be ready in a week. I was slightly annoyed, but didn't need the photos right away so I figured I would wait a week. When I heard nothing a week later, I called the store to check on the status. The employee said they were still waiting on the part. Here I am OVER A MONTH LATER and still have not heard anything about the photos I've ordered. I obviously ordered them from another store and got them right away but this kind of costumer service is not acceptable. read more

3.5 stars This is not my favorite Target, but it is my most convenient thus most visited Target. The place can be a madhouse on the weekends. However, it is kept relatively orderly. However, because it is the easiest Target for most Washingtonian's to get to, things fly off the shelves when there is a sale. Don't expect super friendly service.
