Mike and his crew are expert painters who know the craft of painting. We will definitely hire them again when we remodel our kitchen and bathroom. We found Mike after we had to let our first painter go for scratching our windows. After walking through our house, Mike promised that when his team was done the trim in our house would look almost new. He was right. (Our house is 100 years old.) In addition to painting almost the entire interior of our house, he also painted the exterior. A very good painter should spend most of their time doing prep work--sanding and filling to make the surface as smooth as possible. And good painters should go back multiple times to fill imperfections in the wood before they finally apply the primer and paint. Mike's team did just that. Mike also helped us solve a few other problems with our old house. We needed a carpenter to help fix the doors in our house, and Mike recommended someone who also did a wonderful job. Mike and his crew are knowledgeable, experienced, reliable, friendly, and very qualified. His crew always showed up promptly at 7:30 am. And Mike was on site almost everyday managing any issues, requests by us, or changes in plan. I wouldn't trust my house to any other painter. read more

My realtor, Julie Wyss, sent Tarango Painting to my house for a fresh touch up before listing for sale. I have no real complaints as to the quality of the painting, though they painted a garage door not requested, and did not complete touch up around new lighting fixtures. I felt the quality of the painting was very good. Mike is easy to work with and completed the job timely. The issue is with the clean up and damage done to my lawn right before going on the market. His team cleaned out their buckets and dumped their paint smack in the middle of my front lawn, even though there is an empty lot next to me and a sewer drain at the end of my driveway. Fortunately the photos for the listing were done an hour later so the grass had some white tips. However, before the first open house, the grass was completely dead in those spots. I contacted Mike and he asked for pictures, which were sent. I worked diligently for a month to aerate, fertilize, water, etc to no avail. Replacing the sod isn't an option I'm told without ensuring the toxic chemicals are removed first. I sent him a second request more than 2 weeks ago to address the problem, including a video, and received no response (see link below). I still have several dead spots in my lawn six weeks later. Mike was quick to come personally to my house to pick up a check for the job the same day completed, which was paid without hesitation even though it was substantially more than expected. Had I known what had been done, I would not have been so quick to pay or should have withheld funds to repair. Unbelievably Unprofessional. I met the owner over a month ago to obtain a bid on exterior work for my house. Everything was ok from the initial phone call to when I met him at my house, as I called him to confirm our initial meeting. He said he'd get me a bid that day but it actually took him 4 days and me following up. I quickly figured out I would need to constantly follow up with this person to get the job done. I know contractors are busy, so I wasn't too concerned. When I got the bid, I asked if he would be willing to extend any discounts for new customers. No reply. I followed up a few days later and he gave me a start date for the job. Everything was set, no discounts, but I was completely fine with that. Then, the NIGHT before my job was set to begin, he emails me to say he has to postpone my job for three weeks (he had estimated my job would take 7-10 days). No further explanation except to say he will now give me a discount. I wasn't pleased with this but accepted and asked him to confirm I would be on his calendar three weeks out, and he assured me I would be. I'm sure he got a more profitable job, as mine was around $7k. Three weeks pass and a few days before my job is set to begin, I email him and call him to confirm our revised start date and he says yes, everything is confirmed. I ask what time he will arrive and he gives me a time. Come Monday morning, he's a no show and no further explanation. Absolute lack of respect for my time and patience. Mike did not have the basic courtesy to contact me to say he was not coming - which tells me a lot about his character, so it's a blessing he didn't end up doing my job. read more

TCP started on time and finished a little early. We hired Mike to repaint the back of our home and all the new exterior trim around our new windows. They left the areas very clean and tidy with no smudges on the glass or window frames. They even took care of a few touch-ups around the home that we never pointed out. Fair price as well.
