Uber driver recommended this so decided to try this out. Outdoor seating was nice during COVID times but literally in the hour of sitting outside, we were constantly greeted by folks asking for money, 9 to be exact in the time we were there. It was sad and heartbreaking but I'd totally recommend you sit INSIDE if you want to eat in peace. Food wise: - very disappointing - the guac was fine but the chips were the most stale chips ever and you could hardly eat them - I ordered the alambre sencillo with meat and it was the most unflavored dish ever - I had to squeeze so much lemon and add salsa to give it some taste - my friend ordered quesadilla de champiñones and it tasted like the canned mushrooms -- so it's just food Service: - it wasn't too busy but our server brought forks for my 2 friends and just totally ignored me. ?? And she wasn't so attentive at all. Overall, prices were cheap if you're coming from the States but you could probably get better tasting meat tacos at the stands nearby. They do take Credit Card and they just bring it to your table and ask you if you want to add the tip directly onto the machine.

Taquitos Frontera is a cool spot right in the heart of Roma Norte. They have outside seating which give you a great view of all that is happening. The food is really good. The Alambre de Arrachera is soon good. It comes with bacon, onions, and bell peppers. Just add lemon, salt, and their green salsa and you will not be disappointed. They also have tacos de Asada, al pastor, and other types of meat. We also ordered a casuelita of queso fundido. If you love cheese, this is it. It is so stringy and the top is burned and crunchy. The service is good and they bring your food quickly.

Good food Great value Easy central location Lots of meat Kind server I ordered takeout

    Al Pastor coming up!

The Arrachera Alambre with cheese is great! I would almost recommend sharing it with someone because so much food comes with the dish. Meat, cheese, onions, peppers all top this dish with plenty of tortillas. A second tip, get the flour tortillas as well. They definitely add on to the dish. They take credit cards, just not American Express so just remember that as well. But the food was cooked just right and I'll definitely try and make it back during my last week here in Mexico City.

Super busy place with waiters running around. Hard to figure out how to get seated but once we did the tacos came out fast and were some of the best we had on our trip. Al pastor is fresh and delicious.

This time there were about 10 people waiting and I finally decided it was worth it... and it absolutely was. The tacos were incredible, the service was fast, and they bring out 5-6 different sauces so you can try different flavors with everything. I sat outside, which made the experience even better great people-watching, amazing energy, and everyone walking by looked effortlessly stylish. Mexico City really is such a trendy, vibrant city. Honestly, I still think about these tacos. I could close my eyes and dream about this place.

Full disclaimer: these are my first tacos in Mexico City. The trumpo was really good!! Highly recommend! The res was good too, but not super standout. The chicharron itself was really good, but I don't know if I love it in a taco. The trumpo with the pineapple really stole the show. It's nice that the 3 tacos come with some potatoes. The potatoes were good! It seemed smashed then fried. Can't go wrong with frying potatoes. Food came out fast! It seems like this place can get super packed and busy, which I would think is a good sign!

The restaurant seating does give mall food court vibes, but that's ok i wasn't looking for anything fancy. All the wait staff and servers were very friendly and attentive at all times. Food does not take long at all to come out. Overall the food was disappointing. The only taco that was decent and had some flavor was the chicken taco(pechuga). Quite literally everything else was flavorless. The sauces on the side were the saving grace for every item of food I ordered. The ribeye taco was soaked in grease, which made eating it messy. The chuleta taco had no flavor and i would even say tasted bad. I do not recommend it. The food is definitely overpriced, especially considering the area and the amount of taco vendors that sell better tacos. Now what made this experience terrible was my waiter. I ask for the check and the total was $1139. I told him i was paying cash and i put down $1150 cash. He then taps at the receipt saying there's a mandatory tip and service fee. So he added on $100 to the bill right there on the spot. I analyze the receipt he handed to me and none of this is reflected on the receipt. I refused to argue so i put down the extra $100 and asked for the change. Tipping isn't mandatory especially for a table of 2. So i feel the waiter just made this up. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. STAY AWAY and save some money. Theres better tasting food at way better prices in the area.

The patio was very inviting, so even though it was a bit chilly we sat outside. Our waiter was great, he was also busy, but we got our orders in and received in a reasonable amount of time. The cocktails were off the charts. Honestly can't remember what they were, we got two with Mayan honey and spices, and they were phenomenal. So fruity and spicy and served in an aesthetically pleasing way. One was the cocktail of the month, Aperol and mezcal, why not? Tasted like a, "fruity fireplace," according to our friend to which we wholeheartedly agreed. They gave us each an elote amuse bouche which was a tasty surprise and got us ready for more tastiness. Had a variety of tacos that we all enjoyed immensely. Cauliflower-both types were equally good. Birria queso was incredibly rich and just saturated with flavor-in the best way possible. Had esquites with blue corn and ham croquettes that we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the side salsas. Definitely had to do some negotiating when divvying them up since all of use could have eaten more. This place is not inexpensive, you will drop some money here, especially since you'll want to keep trying cocktails and tacos, but it's worth it. Name on the door was Maiz y Tinto, so that confused me for a bit.

Then, allow the friendly staff to bring as many items from the menu as you can handle. Come with a group so you can share. An absolute must is the whole fish done à la Contramar, one side of the split fish coated in a punchy parsley sauce and the other in a red adobo rub. Served with flour tortillas (which are refillable) and black bean dip, you'll be instructed how to compose perfect bites. Then, choose your own adventure! We also had both the 4 piece each shrimp tostadas and tuna tostadas. Radically different so getting both doesn't duplicate. The pasta (spaghettini) with clams was buttery and garlicky and the pasta was surprisingly not overcooked. Biggest surprise was the grilled soft shell crabs (with corn tortillas). They came pre cut then reassembled so it was easy to pick them up and pop them in your mouth. The grill flavor was fantastic and we were all impressed. We finished with a slice of coconut cake which was like a caramel coated macaroon. Perfect! Large wine list by the glass and bottle, many cocktails, sangria and beer to choose from. Definitely a place to visit when in Mexico City. Sorry for the lack of photos-- we forgot because we dove into each dish (we were hungry and they looked so good)! Got one good one though...
