This place is good!! Loved the al pastor here and the gringa. You get super juicy and flavorful al pastor. It's definitely more of a late-night spot but the food is pretty solid.

This was the first taco spot we had coming into CDMX and it totally hit the spot. The lengua here was by far the best item. They serve the entire thing intact unlike in the states where it's always chopped up. I don't know what they did with this meat but it's divine. The al pastor with pineapple was a close second especially when it has the charred bits mixed with the sweetness of the pineapple. There was also a fried cheese dish that's sort of like thin cheez-it that was satisfying to eat. Cheap, fast service, delicious food, cold beers. What is there not to like?

First stop in CDMX was this spot for some tacos. We were welcomed and seated right away. I tried the Rib Wrapped Cheese (66 MXN) and Al Pastor Taco (13 MXN). The wrapped cheese was overwhelming though and the ribs lacked much flavor. As for the al pastor, this was pretty good and topped with a chunk of pineapple (which looked like cauliflower to me --silly me). If there's anything I'd recommend here, it's the lengua (tongue). Trust me, get this! We all liked it so much that we order another round of the Tongue Taco (22 MXN). Also, ask for your onion and cilantro as well. We didn't realize that it didn't come with it unless you asked for it!

Chichurron queso: doesn't mean fried pig skin with cheese!

Great value for price. Best horchata I have had: $1. Really good tacos (suadero and el pastor) each $1. Mistakenly thought Chiccharone queso meant fried pig skin with cheese on top...it actually means fried cheese. Please don't make my mistake. Great salsas (especially the green one). Open late, great choice for good food on a very small budget. Didn't get a chance to try their cabeza, but will definitely come back! Sometimes they take card, sometimes they don't. Make sure to ask. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of anything other than the chiccharon because we were starving and ate everything else too quickly.

Great for late night tacos after grabbing drinks! The al pastor tacos are tasty and if you're adventurous, try the lengua, but be sure to ask them to add onions and cilantro otherwise they literally put a slab of beef tongue on a tortilla, and it looks really weird. I like the pineapple slice that they add to the al pastor tacos. It's cheap, quick and tasty here, but they're not the best tacos that I've had in CDMX.

The service here is great. They have a very extensive taco menu. The tacos here are not the best that I've had, but they weren't bad either. If you're in this part of town and need a quick bite to eat, try this place. The taco al pastor with queso is super. The gringa, is basically a quesadilla with meat.

Staying in Roma Norte, and regardless of not many yelp reviews- google reviews has over 1000!!! And being the only gringo in the restaurant, this place is amazing. Get the pastor tacos and you'll be a happy, chubby man.

Very competent taco place. The beer was cold, the tacos were tasty and cheap, and the food came quickly. Not much to complain about. Seems to be a local favorite - it was busy on a Monday around 8pm, but there were still a few tables to be had. 2 beers, a bottled water, and 4 tacos came to 167 pesos...less than $10 USD with tip. Btw, did not get the impression anyone spoke English, but it's not hard to get by with tourist level Spanish and the menu.

My favorite taco spot in CDMX...the pastor tacos are amazing. Quick, cheap, delicious. Qué más quieres?

    T bone steak. Meh.

This is a late night taqueria with a good number of tables to acccomodate large parties of if you're dining solo. The menu is tacos and all the other stuff that usually comes with it.. The tacos pastor were sweet and juicy with some pineapple on top. At 120 pesos, these were a screaming good deal and small enough to eat alot more! They have 3 different types of salsas at the table ranging from medium to super spicy. I made the mistake of ordering the t-bone steak. It was presented on a platter with some pico de gallo and corn tortillas. It was super dry and flavorless. I tried making a taco but it was just too chewy. PASS! Servers were quick to accomodate. We had to ask for onions & cilantro which I believe should have been served without question, hence 3 stars.

This time there were about 10 people waiting and I finally decided it was worth it... and it absolutely was. The tacos were incredible, the service was fast, and they bring out 5-6 different sauces so you can try different flavors with everything. I sat outside, which made the experience even better great people-watching, amazing energy, and everyone walking by looked effortlessly stylish. Mexico City really is such a trendy, vibrant city. Honestly, I still think about these tacos. I could close my eyes and dream about this place.

Full disclaimer: these are my first tacos in Mexico City. The trumpo was really good!! Highly recommend! The res was good too, but not super standout. The chicharron itself was really good, but I don't know if I love it in a taco. The trumpo with the pineapple really stole the show. It's nice that the 3 tacos come with some potatoes. The potatoes were good! It seemed smashed then fried. Can't go wrong with frying potatoes. Food came out fast! It seems like this place can get super packed and busy, which I would think is a good sign!

The restaurant seating does give mall food court vibes, but that's ok i wasn't looking for anything fancy. All the wait staff and servers were very friendly and attentive at all times. Food does not take long at all to come out. Overall the food was disappointing. The only taco that was decent and had some flavor was the chicken taco(pechuga). Quite literally everything else was flavorless. The sauces on the side were the saving grace for every item of food I ordered. The ribeye taco was soaked in grease, which made eating it messy. The chuleta taco had no flavor and i would even say tasted bad. I do not recommend it. The food is definitely overpriced, especially considering the area and the amount of taco vendors that sell better tacos. Now what made this experience terrible was my waiter. I ask for the check and the total was $1139. I told him i was paying cash and i put down $1150 cash. He then taps at the receipt saying there's a mandatory tip and service fee. So he added on $100 to the bill right there on the spot. I analyze the receipt he handed to me and none of this is reflected on the receipt. I refused to argue so i put down the extra $100 and asked for the change. Tipping isn't mandatory especially for a table of 2. So i feel the waiter just made this up. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. STAY AWAY and save some money. Theres better tasting food at way better prices in the area.

The patio was very inviting, so even though it was a bit chilly we sat outside. Our waiter was great, he was also busy, but we got our orders in and received in a reasonable amount of time. The cocktails were off the charts. Honestly can't remember what they were, we got two with Mayan honey and spices, and they were phenomenal. So fruity and spicy and served in an aesthetically pleasing way. One was the cocktail of the month, Aperol and mezcal, why not? Tasted like a, "fruity fireplace," according to our friend to which we wholeheartedly agreed. They gave us each an elote amuse bouche which was a tasty surprise and got us ready for more tastiness. Had a variety of tacos that we all enjoyed immensely. Cauliflower-both types were equally good. Birria queso was incredibly rich and just saturated with flavor-in the best way possible. Had esquites with blue corn and ham croquettes that we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the side salsas. Definitely had to do some negotiating when divvying them up since all of use could have eaten more. This place is not inexpensive, you will drop some money here, especially since you'll want to keep trying cocktails and tacos, but it's worth it. Name on the door was Maiz y Tinto, so that confused me for a bit.

Then, allow the friendly staff to bring as many items from the menu as you can handle. Come with a group so you can share. An absolute must is the whole fish done à la Contramar, one side of the split fish coated in a punchy parsley sauce and the other in a red adobo rub. Served with flour tortillas (which are refillable) and black bean dip, you'll be instructed how to compose perfect bites. Then, choose your own adventure! We also had both the 4 piece each shrimp tostadas and tuna tostadas. Radically different so getting both doesn't duplicate. The pasta (spaghettini) with clams was buttery and garlicky and the pasta was surprisingly not overcooked. Biggest surprise was the grilled soft shell crabs (with corn tortillas). They came pre cut then reassembled so it was easy to pick them up and pop them in your mouth. The grill flavor was fantastic and we were all impressed. We finished with a slice of coconut cake which was like a caramel coated macaroon. Perfect! Large wine list by the glass and bottle, many cocktails, sangria and beer to choose from. Definitely a place to visit when in Mexico City. Sorry for the lack of photos-- we forgot because we dove into each dish (we were hungry and they looked so good)! Got one good one though...
