Taqueria Los Mexicanos - Total - Mexican Near Me - Stuart, Florida

I got some take out from Taqueria Los Mexicanos for lunch today. I'm glad I did. I've driven by the restaurant several times but never stopped in till today. Big mistake on my part. I entered and was warmly greeted and offered a menu. While looking over it I didn't quite find what I was looking for and asked the friendly waitress if I could get three vegetarian tacos (soy vegetariano) and she quickly understood. We had a little communication difficulties as I don't speak much Spanish, and her English was limited but I got my order in. I think it's a good sign if there is not much English spoken at a Mexican restaurant as it leads to it's authenticality. I waited for about 5 minutes and was given my order and I was on my way. The tacos were delicious, great fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and some green salsa I added to them. Really fresh, really tasty. The tacos came with refried beans and rice. They were both very good. The right flavors and nothing too strong. Just good, fresh food. The interior dining area is colorful, clean and spacious. I was solo so I didn't really want to dine inside but would certainly do so in the future. I will definitely be back to Taqueria Los Mexicanos in the future. A great authentic restaurant with great service. read more

Good place for a quick bite or having lunch on a weekend with friends... Michelada beer was good, and complimentary chips and salsa are always welcomed. On this occasion, I was just having lunch by myself, so I just grabbed some tacos to sample a few. I like it when you can just order single tacos and mix them to make your own plate. Everything was delicious... tacos are actually on the larger side. (Super packed) Had to ask for extra hot sauce since they are served not spicy. Service was good even though there was only 1 server... she was totally on point. Attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a good lunch. read more

Taqueria Los Mexicanos is a small, hole-in-the-wall type restaurant in Stuart, Florida. It would be easy to drive by without ever noticing it as it sits on a side road just off of A1A. I walked in and was instructed to just sit wherever. My server brought over a menu and I opted to go with three tacos, one an asada taco, one a chorizo taco and one a carnitas taco. I also ordered a water. They don't have tap water, only bottled water. My server brought me chips and salsa and the chips did not look that great. They looked like they were sodden with oil. Instead of the color we are used to, they were brown. They tasted alright though and the salsa was OK. Though I thought there was too much lime in it. My tacos were good (though not great). I would say that the chorizo was my favorite out of the lot and the carnitas my least favorite. My total before tip was $12.06, so pricing was relatively fair, maybe just a tad high. All in all, it was not a bad lunch. If you find yourself in Stuart and craving tacos, check this place out. read more

Most definitely recommend this place. This place speaks to home. We originally from Chicago and the spot definitely hit the mark in taste and quality and the service and waitress was great. Definitely recommend. read more

Location is in a small Plaza you'll almost miss it if you don't look closely. Upon Entering very humid feeling not much crowd about 6pm. The restaurant is nicely decorated on the inside you get the Mexican scenery. The waitress was ok..not very welcoming considering it was my first time there. She brought out a basket of greasy fried tortilla chips and a over seasoned salsa. Had a huge variety of Items on the menu but I feel the food was very over priced especially after getting our plates and tasting the food. I am Hispanic I love trying different taquerias but unfortunately I only give 2 stars here, the food was bland super greasy and just didn't have a good fresh authentic taste to it. Tortillas were store bought and not fresh. Beans had a very odd taste like they had added tomato sauce to them but no seasoning, not to mention the rice very dry. I gave it 2 stars for the nice setting of the inside and the appealing signs on the outdoors. Ohh..and the tamarindo water was actually the best thing from Our visit. I will never come back here. If you are someone who doesn't like a lot flavor to your food then you may like it here. read more

Good atmosphere. Great tasting food. Though I miss pre-Covid pricing and bottomless chips and salsa that Mexican restaurants used to have. Also feels a little bit crowded. Good service though. read more

Very good! Quick, friendly service. Horchata was incredible. As were the Potato Empanadas. Highly recommend large serving sizes for a good price. 10/10 read more

Very good! Authentic, tasty, hot! I don't understand people who complain about waitresses and employees not speaking good English!! That's an added bonus!! You get the real experience and you know the food is authentic! It's like the certification stamp. I liked the food. Tortilla chips tasted as if they were made from scratch but they only gave me three!! That was disappointing. read more

Quaint yet festive decor. Delicious food and huge portions. Each entree is accompanied by refried beans, perfectly cooked rice and salad. My selection was shrimp ala plancha with grilled onions and tomatoes. The portion of shrimp was enormous My wife had the chillis rellinoes. This restaurant is great. The best thing on the menu in my opinion is the strawberry drink. I will go when I only want the drink and it's amazing. The mango flavored drink is very good as well. The tostados are the best thing on the menu if you ask me. They always have a good portion of meat on them and it's so well seasoned. The tacos are also pretty great. I also really like their sopes. It's fried break with beef, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and sour cream. It's very good and filling. If you have three you'll probably be full for the rest of the day. read more

Great roadside Mexican restaurant! Authentic dishes. As vegetarians we didn't have much choice. But we were very happy with the Chiles Rellenos. We ordered them with guacamole, which they made fresh, and nopalitos. Mmmm delicious! Fresh corn tortillas accompanied the dish. And they were served in a tortilla container that kept them warm (who likes cold corn tortillas? I love them warm). I lived in Mexico for many years and this came very close to the simple home food restaurants there. They serve agua fresca also. The service was very friendly. This is not a high class restaurant, more an authentic Mexican family diner. There was a TV in a corner. The sound was on high but was turned down immediately on our request. read more

Service wasn't bad, cute little restaurant but the food was terrible. I hate to say disgusting but that's all I can describe the food as. The carne asada is horrible quality, fatty and flavorless. Tacos only come with 1 tortilla and it's extra for 2, so they completely fall apart. The sauces have no flavor. Truthfully regret wasting my money here, Taco Bell would've been more fulfilling. Hard pass. read more

Horrible! I ordered the wet burrito and got a burrito packed with rice and beans... where was the seak? I don't know ‍. The worst part ; the burrito was accompanied with more beans and rice ‍... I ordered steak and I only found a few small pieces... it's ridiculous to pay $16 dollars for rice and beans... the waitress told me she couldn't do anything..., I won't go back to that place. If you want a real burrito go to Rancho Chico restaurant located on Monterrey Rd read more

What can one say when they have a meal that reminds them of their youth. When I was a boy I used to watch my grandmother prepare food. She would give me little samples along the way and when everything was done. Boy what a meal. This is what I experienced here at Taqueria Los Mexicanos. The staff if very friendly and after I placed my order I took a seat. My horchata came quickly and boy did it taste good. In a very reasonable amount of time my tacos came. I ordered both carnitas (fried pork) and lingue (beef tounge). They were absolutely fantastic and just the right amount of cilantro and onions. A little bit of lime and salsa picante, perfection!!!! Come here, eat authentic, and never look back. read more

This hidden gem was an accidental find and a local favorite serving simple, authentic, Mexican food with no frills whatsoever. With a food truck parked in front of the business on weekends, the smell of carne asada on the grill brings in locals and passers by with the promise of a great taco. And that's exactly what you get here, a down to earth, honest to goodness taco that reminds you of home. I found this small food truck in front of a Mexican restaurant while driving by on a motorcycle tour of Jensen Beach. The smells coming down road were incredible, forcing and immediate U turn to investigate. What I found was an honest to goodness taco truck with a hard working family at the helm. I ordered up an assortment of tacos, took a soda out of the cooler and waited in the picnic-like seating area they had setup for outside dining. A few minutes later I was enjoying their authentic food that harkened me back to enjoying picnics in my childhood with some of my Latin friends growing up. The food is very good and their service was excellent. It was also a very good value with extremely reasonable prices. I made sure to save this place in my motorcycles GPS, so I'd be able to find it again. In short, If you're in the area and ready for a authentic Mexican taco, you will definitely find happiness and a good value here. 4 Stars. read more

Although the plate presentation was nice, this is NOT the place to come if you're a vegetarian. They claim they don't have vegetables in their restaurant besides lettuce and tomatoes which are the toppings. So if you ask for something without meat in it, it's basically an empty shell. read more

Tried this place while in town for work, I will definitely be back next time I'm around. The food and service was great.

I love this place. It is truly authentic Mexican, I've tried a different dish every time I've come and it is delicious. For a drink, you CAN NOT go wrong with "Piña" or any dish on the menu. My fiancé and I always rave and go to this local spot. Four stars--the only reason I gave four stars, recently I went during the end of lunch time, busy but not slammed, and I was ignored the ENTIRE TIME. Other table's orders were taken at their tables, checked on and brought their check. I had to go to the counter every time. I was so annoyed and irritated because I never had a bad experience until earlier this week. In the meantime, I'll explore other eateries in Stuart and nearby until I decide to take another chance on them. read more

I am a frequent traveler and use this site to find the best restaurant. I was shock to come upon this one being listed as the number -1 place for Mexican. After waiting almost 1 hour for our dinner I ask the waitress to just pack it up for take out. A small neighborhood Mexican restaurant that serves fresh authentic Mexican food! On Friday and Saturday evenings an outside tent is set up for serving! Service can be a little slow at times because when they get busy...it's very busy!!! But the beer is cold and the chips and salsa will keep you until your meal is ready! Tacos are fantastic and are usually served with sliced radishes and a grilled pepper! The pork carnitas with flour tortillas are my favorite. My wife loves their grilled chicken taco salad with the guacamole !!! And the burritos..put smiley face here! Big menu with lots of choices! !! read more

Took my son and his friend there for lunch. The food was great. We each got 3 different kinds of tacos. Nothing fancy, just carnitas, Al pastor, pollo. My son and his friend each had Horchatas, and I just had water. The chip and salsa were good, but kinda small for 3 men. The service was acceptable but not good for a restaurant with only 1 other occupied table. The man reason I give it 2 stars with such good food, is the price. This is a hole in the wall type place, which I love, but priced like a gourmet Mexican restaurant. Our LUNCH of tacos, with the tip, was $60. I really enjoyed myself, but we have many Mexican restaurants in the area that are great, that would have been nicer, and about half the price. Enjoy your lunch, but I would call this a $$$ for what you get. read more

Me and my boyfriend went here and ordered tacos the lady asked if we wanted them to go or for there and we asked to eat them there. There was a few other family's eating there and we asked the waiter for chips as we noticed everyone else had them and she went back and a lady came out and dropped out food at our table in to go containers. We were very polite to everyone but unfortunately you won't get the same service unless your Mexican here I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our family of five had quesedillas and five tacos--barbacoa and al pastor--for lunch here. Total: 23 bucks, and that's with two large horchatas. The tacos were authentic and great, with fresh onion, cilantro, tomatillo sauce and a salted, grilled jalapeno on the side. This place has one man on the grill and one woman working all the tables, so during the lunch rush when we ate, you could see the woman was working as fast as she could, but there's only so many people one person can serve. Our beans and rice were cold. The place will filled with Latino workmen, always a good sign for lunch, and the bisteca and soups and tostadas others were eating looked really good. Still, given a choice, I'd eat at Taqueria Tamaulapis three blocks away, which makes its own tortillas and gets its home-marinated meat at the carneceria next door. read more

Ive ordered from here several times before and never seem to have an issue with the people who work at night, i decided to call in advance like i normally do to have a order for pickup the boy on the phone assured me my order was put in and said it would be ready in 25 minutes and that was at 11:23am i arrived after 30-35 minutes and figured giving them extra time might make it easier for me to just come in and pay and leave, i arrived and the young girl at the counter who looked like she was about to fall over and out told me 5 minutes so okay i work in food service i understand i went to the store down the road and got drinks and some other things and came back and got ignored by the lady at the frount counter when i asked how long my order would take, then the boy im pretty sure i spoke with on the phone came out and asked what ordered i had i told him and he went on about "oh let me go check" i stopped him there and told him "if my order isnt ready just let me know that and ill take my business else where" he proceeded to catch an attitude but i dont think he realized i wasnt gonna be the one to take it, i expressed how unprofessional it was and he proceeded to laugh in my face, so before i snatched his head off his neck i left and went to the AMAZING Red taco truck in golden gate who NEVER messes up my order. Respectfully a pissed off women who simply wanted her burrito. read more
